¹After these things, Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is also called the Sea of Tiberias.

¹ภายหลังเหตุการณ์เหล่านี้พระเยซูก็เสด็จไปข้ามทะเลกาลิลี คือทะเลทิเบเรียส

²A great multitude followed him, because they saw his signs which he did on those who were sick.

²คนเป็นอันมากได้ตามพระองค์ไป เพราะเขาเหล่านั้นได้เห็นการอัศจรรย์ที่พระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำต่อบรรดาคนป่วย

³Jesus went up into the mountain, and he sat there with his disciples.

³พระเยซูเสด็จขึ้นไปบนภูเขาและประทับกับเหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ที่นั่น

⁴Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand.

⁴ขณะนั้นใกล้จะถึงปัสกาซึ่งเป็นเทศกาลเลี้ยงของพวกยิวแล้ว

⁵Jesus therefore lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great multitude was coming to him, said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, that these may eat?”

⁵เมื่อพระเยซูทรงเงยพระพักตร์ทอดพระเนตรและเห็นคนเป็นอันมากพากันมาหาพระองค์ พระองค์จึงตรัสกับฟีลิปว่า "เราจะซื้ออาหารที่ไหนให้คนเหล่านี้กินได้"

⁶This he said to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.

⁶พระองค์ตรัสอย่างนั้นเพื่อจะลองใจฟีลิป เพราะพระองค์ทรงทราบแล้วว่าพระองค์จะทรงกระทำประการใด

⁷Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that everyone of them may receive a little.”

⁷ฟีลิปทูลตอบพระองค์ว่า "สองร้อยเหรียญเดนาริอันก็ไม่พอซื้ออาหารให้เขากินกันคนละเล็กละน้อย"

⁸One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him,

⁸สาวกคนหนึ่งของพระองค์คืออันดรูว์น้องชายของซีโมนเปโตรทูลพระองค์ว่า

⁹“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these among so many?”

⁹"ที่นี่มีเด็กชายคนหนึ่งมีขนมบารลีห้าก้อนกับปลาเล็กๆสองตัว แต่เท่านั้นจะพออะไรกับคนมากอย่างนี้"

¹⁰Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in that place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

¹⁰พระเยซูตรัสว่า "ให้คนทั้งปวงนั่งลงเถิด" ที่นั่นมีหญ้ามาก คนเหล่านั้นจึงนั่งลง นับแต่ผู้ชายได้ประมาณห้าพันคน

¹¹Jesus took the loaves; and having given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were sitting down; likewise also of the fish as much as they desired.

¹¹แล้วพระเยซูก็ทรงหยิบขนมปังนั้น และเมื่อขอบพระคุณแล้ว ก็ทรงแจกแก่พวกสาวก และพวกสาวกแจกแก่บรรดาคนที่นั่งอยู่นั้น และให้ปลาด้วยตามที่เขาปรารถนา

¹²When they were filled, he said to his disciples, “Gather up the broken pieces which are left over, that nothing be lost.”

¹²เมื่อเขาทั้งหลายกินอิ่มแล้วพระองค์ตรัสกับเหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ว่า "จงเก็บเศษอาหารที่เหลือไว้ เพื่อไม่ให้มีสิ่งใดเสียไป"

¹³So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with broken pieces from the five barley loaves, which were left over by those who had eaten.

¹³เขาจึงเก็บเศษขนมบารลีห้าก้อนซึ่งเหลือจากที่คนทั้งหลายได้กินแล้วนั้น ใส่กระบุงได้สิบสองกระบุงเต็ม

¹⁴When therefore the people saw the sign which Jesus did, they said, “This is truly the prophet who comes into the world.”

¹⁴เมื่อคนเหล่านั้นได้เห็นการอัศจรรย์ซึ่งพระเยซูได้ทรงกระทำ เขาก็พูดกันว่า "แท้จริงท่านผู้นี้เป็นศาสดาพยากรณ์นั้นที่ทรงกำหนดให้เข้ามาในโลก"

¹⁵Jesus therefore, perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force, to make him king, withdrew again to the mountain by himself.

¹⁵เมื่อพระเยซูทรงทราบว่า เขาทั้งหลายจะมาจับพระองค์ไปตั้งให้เป็นกษัตริย์ พระองค์ก็เสด็จไปที่ภูเขาอีกแต่ลำพัง

¹⁶When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea,

¹⁶พอค่ำลงเหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ก็ได้ลงไปที่ทะเล

¹⁷and they entered into the boat, and were going over the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them.

¹⁷แล้วลงเรือข้ามฟากไปยังเมืองคาเปอรนาอุม มืดแล้วแต่พระเยซูก็ยังมิได้เสด็จไปถึงเขา

¹⁸The sea was tossed by a great wind blowing.

¹⁸ทะเลก็กำเริบขึ้นเพราะลมพัดกล้า

¹⁹When therefore they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty stadia, 25 to 30 stadia is about 5 to 6 kilometers or about 3 to 4 miles they saw Jesus walking on the sea, see Job 9:8 and drawing near to the boat; and they were afraid.

¹⁹เมื่อเขาทั้งหลายตีกรรเชียงไปได้ประมาณห้าหกกิโลเมตร เขาก็เห็นพระเยซูเสด็จดำเนินมาบนทะเลใกล้เรือ เขาต่างก็ตกใจกลัว

²⁰But he said to them, “It is I or, I AM . Don’t be afraid.”

²⁰แต่พระองค์ตรัสแก่เขาว่า "นี่เป็นเราเอง อย่ากลัวเลย"

²¹They were willing therefore to receive him into the boat. Immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.

²¹ดังนั้นเขาจึงรับพระองค์ขึ้นเรือด้วยความเต็มใจ แล้วทันใดนั้นเรือก็ถึงฝั่งที่เขาจะไปนั้น

²²On the next day, the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except the one in which his disciples had embarked, and that Jesus hadn’t entered with his disciples into the boat, but his disciples had gone away alone.

²²วันรุ่งขึ้น เมื่อคนที่อยู่ฝั่งข้างโน้นเห็นว่าไม่มีเรืออื่นที่นั่น เว้นแต่ลำที่เหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ลงไปเพียงลำเดียว และเห็นว่าพระเยซูมิได้เสด็จลงเรือลำนั้นไปกับเหล่าสาวก แต่เหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ไปตามลำพังเท่านั้น

²³However boats from Tiberias came near to the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks.

²³(แต่มีเรือลำอื่นมาจากทิเบเรียส ใกล้สถานที่ที่เขาได้กินขนมปัง หลังจากที่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าได้ทรงขอบพระคุณแล้ว)

²⁴When the multitude therefore saw that Jesus wasn’t there, nor his disciples, they themselves got into the boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.

²⁴เหตุฉะนั้นเมื่อประชาชนเห็นว่า พระเยซูและเหล่าสาวกไม่ได้อยู่ที่นั่น เขาจึงลงเรือไปและตามหาพระเยซูที่เมืองคาเปอรนาอุม

²⁵When they found him on the other side of the sea, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?”

²⁵ครั้นเขาได้พบพระองค์ที่ฝั่งทะเลข้างโน้นแล้ว เขาทั้งหลายทูลพระองค์ว่า "รับบี ท่านมาที่นี่เมื่อไร"

²⁶Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, you seek me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves, and were filled.

²⁶พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า "เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ท่านทั้งหลายตามหาเรามิใช่เพราะได้เห็นการอัศจรรย์นั้น แต่เพราะได้กินขนมปังอิ่ม

²⁷ Don’t work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him.”

²⁷อย่าขวนขวายหาอาหารที่ย่อมเสื่อมสูญไป แต่จงหาอาหารที่ดำรงอยู่ถึงชีวิตนิรันดร์ซึ่งบุตรมนุษย์จะให้แก่ท่าน เพราะพระเจ้าคือพระบิดาได้ทรงประทับตรามอบอำนาจแก่พระบุตรแล้ว"

²⁸They said therefore to him, “What must we do, that we may work the works of God?”

²⁸แล้วเขาทั้งหลายก็ทูลพระองค์ว่า "ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายจะต้องทำประการใด จึงจะทำงานของพระเจ้าได้"

²⁹Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”

²⁹พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า "งานของพระเจ้านั้นคือการที่ท่านเชื่อในท่านที่พระองค์ทรงใช้มานั้น"

³⁰They said therefore to him, “What then do you do for a sign, that we may see, and believe you? What work do you do?

³⁰เขาทั้งหลายจึงทูลพระองค์ว่า "ถ้าเช่นนั้น ท่านจะกระทำหมายสำคัญอะไร เพื่อข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายจะเห็นและเชื่อในท่าน ท่านจะกระทำการอะไรบ้าง

³¹Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness. As it is written, ‘He gave them bread out of heaven Greek and Hebrew use the same word for “heaven”, “the heavens”, “the sky”, and “the air”. to eat.’” Exodus 16:4; Nehemiah 9:15; Psalm 78:24-25

³¹บรรพบุรุษของข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายได้กินมานาในถิ่นทุรกันดารนั้น ตามที่มีคำเขียนไว้ว่า `ท่านได้ให้เขากินอาหารจากสวรรค์'"

³²Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly, I tell you, it wasn’t Moses who gave you the bread out of heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread out of heaven.

³²พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า มิใช่โมเสสที่ให้อาหารจากสวรรค์นั้นแก่ท่าน แต่พระบิดาของเราประทานอาหารแท้ซึ่งมาจากสวรรค์ให้แก่ท่านทั้งหลาย

³³ For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.”

³³เพราะว่าอาหารของพระเจ้านั้น คือท่านที่ลงมาจากสวรรค์ และประทานชีวิตให้แก่โลก"

³⁴They said therefore to him, “Lord, always give us this bread.”

³⁴เขาทั้งหลายจึงทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า โปรดให้อาหารนั้นแก่ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายเสมอไปเถิด"

³⁵Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

³⁵พระเยซูตรัสกับเขาว่า "เราเป็นอาหารแห่งชีวิต ผู้ที่มาหาเราจะไม่หิวอีก และผู้ที่เชื่อในเราจะไม่กระหายอีกเลย

³⁶ But I told you that you have seen me, and yet you don’t believe.

³⁶แต่เราได้บอกท่านทั้งหลายแล้วว่า ท่านได้เห็นเราแล้วแต่ก็ไม่เชื่อ

³⁷ All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. He who comes to me I will in no way throw out.

³⁷สารพัดที่พระบิดาทรงประทานแก่เราจะมาสู่เรา และผู้ที่มาหาเรา เราก็จะไม่ทิ้งเขาเลย

³⁸ For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.

³⁸เพราะว่าเราได้ลงมาจากสวรรค์ มิใช่เพื่อกระทำตามความประสงค์ของเราเอง แต่เพื่อกระทำตามพระประสงค์ของพระองค์ผู้ทรงใช้เรามา

³⁹ This is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day.

³⁹และพระประสงค์ของพระบิดาผู้ทรงใช้เรามานั้น ก็คือให้เรารักษาบรรดาผู้ที่พระองค์ได้ทรงมอบไว้กับเรา มิให้หายไปสักคนเดียว แต่ให้ฟื้นขึ้นมาในวันที่สุด

⁴⁰ This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

⁴⁰เพราะนี่แหละเป็นพระประสงค์ของผู้ที่ทรงใช้เรามานั้น ที่จะให้ทุกคนที่เห็นพระบุตร และเชื่อในพระบุตรได้มีชีวิตนิรันดร์ และเราจะให้ผู้นั้นฟื้นขึ้นมาในวันสุดท้าย"

⁴¹The Jews therefore murmured concerning him, because he said, “I am the bread which came down out of heaven.”

⁴¹พวกยิวจึงบ่นพึมพำกันเรื่องพระองค์เพราะพระองค์ตรัสว่า "เราเป็นอาหารซึ่งลงมาจากสวรรค์"

⁴²They said, “Isn’t this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then does he say, ‘I have come down out of heaven?’”

⁴²เขาทั้งหลายว่า "คนนี้เป็นเยซูลูกชายของโยเซฟมิใช่หรือ พ่อแม่ของเขาเราก็รู้จัก เหตุใดคนนี้จึงพูดว่า `เราได้ลงมาจากสวรรค์'"

⁴³Therefore Jesus answered them, “Don’t murmur among yourselves.

⁴³พระเยซูจึงตรัสตอบเขาเหล่านั้นว่า "อย่าบ่นกันเลย

⁴⁴ No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day.

⁴⁴ไม่มีผู้ใดมาถึงเราได้นอกจากพระบิดาผู้ทรงใช้เรามาจะทรงชักนำให้เขามา และเราจะให้ผู้นั้นฟื้นขึ้นมาในวันสุดท้าย

⁴⁵ It is written in the prophets, ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Isaiah 54:13 Therefore everyone who hears from the Father, and has learned, comes to me.

⁴⁵มีคำเขียนไว้ในคัมภีร์ศาสดาพยากรณ์ว่า `ทุกคนจะเรียนรู้จากพระเจ้า' เหตุฉะนั้นทุกคนที่ได้ยินได้ฟัง และได้เรียนรู้จากพระบิดาก็มาถึงเรา

⁴⁶ Not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is from God. He has seen the Father.

⁴⁶ไม่มีผู้ใดได้เห็นพระบิดา นอกจากท่านที่มาจากพระเจ้า ท่านนั้นแหละได้เห็นพระบิดาแล้ว

⁴⁷ Most certainly, I tell you, he who believes in me has eternal life.

⁴⁷เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ผู้ที่เชื่อในเราก็มีชีวิตนิรันดร์

⁴⁸ I am the bread of life.

⁴⁸เราเป็นอาหารแห่งชีวิตนั้น

⁴⁹ Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.

⁴⁹บรรพบุรุษของท่านทั้งหลายได้กินมานาในถิ่นทุรกันดารและสิ้นชีวิต

⁵⁰ This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die.

⁵⁰แต่นี่เป็นอาหารที่ลงมาจากสวรรค์ เพื่อให้ผู้ที่ได้กินแล้วไม่ตาย

⁵¹ I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

⁵¹เราเป็นอาหารที่ธำรงชีวิตซึ่งลงมาจากสวรรค์ ถ้าผู้ใดกินอาหารนี้ ผู้นั้นจะมีชีวิตนิรันดร์ และอาหารที่เราจะให้เพื่อเป็นชีวิตของโลกนั้นก็คือเนื้อของเรา"

⁵²The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”

⁵²แล้วพวกยิวก็ทุ่มเถียงกันว่า "ผู้นี้จะเอาเนื้อของเขาให้เรากินได้อย่างไร"

⁵³Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don’t have life in yourselves.

⁵³พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ถ้าท่านไม่กินเนื้อและดื่มโลหิตของบุตรมนุษย์ ท่านก็ไม่มีชีวิตในตัวท่าน

⁵⁴ He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁵⁴ผู้ที่กินเนื้อและดื่มโลหิตของเราก็มีชีวิตนิรันดร์ และเราจะให้ผู้นั้นฟื้นขึ้นมาในวันสุดท้าย

⁵⁵ For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

⁵⁵เพราะว่าเนื้อของเราเป็นอาหารแท้และโลหิตของเราก็เป็นของดื่มแท้

⁵⁶ He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.

⁵⁶ผู้ที่กินเนื้อและดื่มโลหิตของเรา ผู้นั้นก็อยู่ในเราและเราอยู่ในเขา

⁵⁷ As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he who feeds on me, he will also live because of me.

⁵⁷พระบิดาผู้ทรงดำรงพระชนม์ได้ทรงใช้เรามาและเรามีชีวิตเพราะพระบิดานั้นฉันใด ผู้ที่กินเรา ผู้นั้นก็จะมีชีวิตเพราะเราฉันนั้น

⁵⁸ This is the bread which came down out of heaven—not as our fathers ate the manna, and died. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

⁵⁸นี่แหละเป็นอาหารซึ่งลงมาจากสวรรค์ ไม่เหมือนกับมานาที่พวกบรรพบุรุษของท่านได้กินและสิ้นชีวิต ผู้ที่กินอาหารนี้จะมีชีวิตนิรันดร์"

⁵⁹He said these things in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

⁵⁹คำเหล่านี้พระองค์ได้ตรัสในธรรมศาลา ขณะที่พระองค์ทรงสั่งสอนอยู่ที่เมืองคาเปอรนาอุม

⁶⁰Therefore many of his disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying! Who can listen to it?”

⁶⁰ดังนั้นเมื่อเหล่าสาวกของพระองค์หลายคนได้ฟังเช่นนั้นก็พูดว่า "ถ้อยคำเหล่านี้ยากนัก ใครจะฟังได้"

⁶¹But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble?

⁶¹เมื่อพระเยซูทรงทราบเองว่าเหล่าสาวกของพระองค์บ่นถึงเรื่องนั้น พระองค์จึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "เรื่องนี้ทำให้ท่านทั้งหลายลำบากใจหรือ

⁶² Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?

⁶²ถ้าท่านจะได้เห็นบุตรมนุษย์เสด็จขึ้นไปยังที่ที่ท่านอยู่แต่ก่อนนั้น ท่านจะว่าอย่างไร

⁶³ It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

⁶³จิตวิญญาณเป็นที่ให้มีชีวิต ส่วนเนื้อหนังไม่มีประโยชน์อันใด ถ้อยคำซึ่งเราได้กล่าวกับท่านทั้งหลายนั้น เป็นจิตวิญญาณและเป็นชีวิต

⁶⁴ But there are some of you who don’t believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who didn’t believe, and who it was who would betray him.

⁶⁴แต่ในพวกท่านมีบางคนที่ไม่เชื่อ" เพราะพระเยซูทรงทราบแต่แรกว่าผู้ใดไม่เชื่อ และเป็นผู้ใดที่จะทรยศพระองค์ไว้

⁶⁵He said, “For this cause have I said to you that no one can come to me, unless it is given to him by my Father.”

⁶⁵และพระองค์ตรัสว่า "เหตุฉะนั้นเราจึงได้บอกท่านทั้งหลายว่า `ไม่มีผู้ใดจะมาถึงเราได้ นอกจากพระบิดาของเราจะทรงโปรดประทานให้ผู้นั้น'"

⁶⁶At this, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

⁶⁶ตั้งแต่นั้นมาสาวกของพระองค์หลายคนก็ท้อถอยไม่ติดตามพระองค์อีกต่อไป

⁶⁷Jesus said therefore to the twelve, “You don’t also want to go away, do you?”

⁶⁷พระเยซูตรัสกับสิบสองคนนั้นว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายก็จะจากเราไปด้วยหรือ"

⁶⁸Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.

⁶⁸ซีโมนเปโตรทูลตอบพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า พวกข้าพระองค์จะจากไปหาผู้ใดเล่า พระองค์มีถ้อยคำซึ่งให้มีชีวิตนิรันดร์

⁶⁹We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

⁶⁹และข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายก็เชื่อและแน่ใจแล้วว่า พระองค์ทรงเป็นพระคริสต์พระบุตรของพระเจ้าผู้ทรงดำรงพระชนม์"

⁷⁰Jesus answered them, “Didn’t I choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?”

⁷⁰พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า "เราเลือกพวกท่านสิบสองคนมิใช่หรือ และคนหนึ่งในพวกท่านเป็นมารร้าย"

⁷¹Now he spoke of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, for it was he who would betray him, being one of the twelve.

⁷¹พระองค์ทรงหมายถึงยูดาสอิสคาริโอทบุตรชายซีโมน เพราะว่าเขาเป็นผู้ที่จะทรยศพระองค์ไว้ คือคนหนึ่งในอัครสาวกสิบสองคน
