¹He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up,

¹พระองค์ตรัสคำอุปมาเรื่องหนึ่งให้เขาฟังเพื่อสอนว่า คนทั้งหลายควรอธิษฐานอยู่เสมอ ไม่อ่อนระอาใจ

²saying, “There was a judge in a certain city who didn’t fear God, and didn’t respect man.

²พระองค์ตรัสว่า "ในนครหนึ่งมีผู้พิพากษาคนหนึ่งที่มิได้เกรงกลัวพระเจ้า และมิได้เห็นแก่มนุษย์

³ A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, ‘Defend me from my adversary!’

³ในนครนั้นมีหญิงม่ายคนหนึ่งมาหาผู้พิพากษาผู้นั้นพูดว่า `ขอแก้แค้นศัตรูของข้าพเจ้าให้ข้าพเจ้าเถิด'

⁴ He wouldn’t for a while, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God, nor respect man,

⁴ฝ่ายผู้พิพากษานั้นไม่ยอมทำจนช้านาน แต่ภายหลังเขานึกในใจว่า `แม้ว่าเราไม่เกรงกลัวพระเจ้าและไม่เห็นแก่มนุษย์

⁵ yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.’”

⁵แต่เพราะแม่ม่ายคนนี้มากวนเราให้ลำบาก เราจะแก้แค้นให้เขา เพื่อมิให้นางมารบกวนบ่อยๆให้เรารำคาญใจ'"

⁶The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.

⁶และองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสว่า "จงฟังคำที่ผู้พิพากษาอธรรมนี้ได้พูด

⁷ Won’t God avenge his chosen ones, who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?

⁷พระเจ้าจะไม่ทรงแก้แค้นให้คนที่พระองค์ได้ทรงเลือกไว้ ผู้ร้องถึงพระองค์ทั้งกลางวันกลางคืนหรือ พระองค์จะอดพระทัยไว้ช้านานหรือ

⁸ I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

⁸เราบอกท่านทั้งหลายว่า พระองค์จะทรงแก้แค้นให้เขาโดยเร็ว แต่เมื่อบุตรมนุษย์มา ท่านจะพบความเชื่อในแผ่นดินโลกหรือ"

⁹He spoke also this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others.

⁹สำหรับบางคนที่ไว้ใจในตัวเองว่าเป็นคนชอบธรรม และได้ดูถูกคนอื่นนั้น พระองค์ตรัสคำอุปมานี้ว่า

¹⁰ “Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.

¹⁰"มีชายสองคนขึ้นไปอธิษฐานในพระวิหาร คนหนึ่งเป็นพวกฟาริสี และคนหนึ่งเป็นพวกเก็บภาษี

¹¹ The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself like this: ‘God, I thank you, that I am not like the rest of men, extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

¹¹คนฟาริสีนั้นยืนนึกในใจของตนอธิษฐานว่า `ข้าแต่พระเจ้า ข้าพระองค์ขอบพระคุณพระองค์ ที่ข้าพระองค์ไม่เหมือนคนอื่นซึ่งเป็นคนโลภ คนอธรรม และคนล่วงประเวณี และไม่เหมือนคนเก็บภาษีคนนี้

¹² I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.’

¹²ในสัปดาห์หนึ่งข้าพระองค์ถืออดอาหารสองหน และของสารพัดซึ่งข้าพระองค์หาได้ ข้าพระองค์ได้เอาสิบชักหนึ่งมาถวาย'

¹³ But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’

¹³ฝ่ายคนเก็บภาษีนั้นยืนอยู่แต่ไกล ไม่แหงนดูฟ้า แต่ตีอกของตนว่า `ข้าแต่พระเจ้า ขอทรงโปรดพระเมตตาแก่ข้าพระองค์ผู้เป็นคนบาปเถิด'

¹⁴ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

¹⁴เราบอกท่านทั้งหลายว่า คนนี้แหละเมื่อกลับลงไปยังบ้านของตนก็นับว่าชอบธรรมยิ่งกว่าอีกคนหนึ่งนั้น เพราะว่าทุกคนที่ยกตัวขึ้นจะต้องถูกเหยียดลง แต่ทุกคนที่ได้ถ่อมตัวลงจะต้องถูกยกขึ้น"

¹⁵They were also bringing their babies to him, that he might touch them. But when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.

¹⁵แล้วเขาอุ้มทารกมาหาพระองค์ เพื่อจะให้พระองค์ทรงถูกต้องทารกนั้น แต่เหล่าสาวกเมื่อเห็นเข้าก็ห้ามเขา

¹⁶Jesus summoned them, saying, “Allow the little children to come to me, and don’t hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

¹⁶แต่พระเยซูทรงเรียกเขามา แล้วตรัสว่า "จงยอมให้เด็กเล็กๆเข้ามาหาเรา อย่าห้ามเขาเลย เพราะว่าอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าย่อมเป็นของคนเช่นเด็กเหล่านั้น

¹⁷ Most certainly, I tell you, whoever doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”

¹⁷เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดมิได้รับอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าเหมือนเด็กเล็กๆ ผู้นั้นจะเข้าในอาณาจักรนั้นไม่ได้"

¹⁸A certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

¹⁸มีขุนนางผู้หนึ่งทูลถามพระองค์ว่า "ท่านอาจารย์ผู้ประเสริฐ ข้าพเจ้าจะทำประการใดจึงจะได้ชีวิตนิรันดร์เป็นมรดก"

¹⁹Jesus asked him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one—God.

¹⁹พระเยซูตรัสถามคนนั้นว่า "ท่านเรียกเราว่าประเสริฐทำไม ไม่มีใครประเสริฐเว้นแต่พระเจ้าองค์เดียว

²⁰ You know the commandments: ‘Don’t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’t murder,’ ‘Don’t steal,’ ‘Don’t give false testimony,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’” Exodus 20:12-16; Deuteronomy 5:16-20

²⁰ท่านรู้จักพระบัญญัติแล้วซึ่งว่า `อย่าล่วงประเวณีผัวเมียเขา อย่ากระทำการฆาตกรรม อย่าลักทรัพย์ อย่าเป็นพยานเท็จ จงให้เกียรติแก่บิดามารดาของตน'"

²¹He said, “I have observed all these things from my youth up.”

²¹คนนั้นจึงทูลว่า "ข้อเหล่านั้นข้าพเจ้าได้ถือรักษาไว้ตั้งแต่เป็นเด็กๆมา"

²²When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. You will have treasure in heaven. Come, follow me.”

²²เมื่อพระเยซูทรงได้ยินอย่างนั้นพระองค์ตรัสแก่เขาว่า "ท่านยังขาดสิ่งหนึ่ง จงไปขายบรรดาสิ่งของซึ่งท่านมีอยู่และแจกจ่ายให้คนอนาถา ท่านจึงจะมีทรัพย์สมบัติในสวรรค์ แล้วจงตามเรามา"

²³But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.

²³แต่เมื่อเขาได้ยินอย่างนั้นก็เป็นทุกข์นัก เพราะเขาเป็นคนมั่งมีมาก

²⁴Jesus, seeing that he became very sad, said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!

²⁴เมื่อพระเยซูทอดพระเนตรเห็นเขาเป็นทุกข์นัก พระองค์จึงตรัสว่า "คนมั่งมีจะเข้าในอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าก็ยากจริงหนา

²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.”

²⁵เพราะว่าตัวอูฐจะรอดรูเข็มก็ง่ายกว่าคนมั่งมีจะเข้าในอาณาจักรของพระเจ้า"

²⁶Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?”

²⁶ฝ่ายคนทั้งหลายที่ได้ยินจึงว่า "ถ้าอย่างนั้นใครจะรอดได้"

²⁷But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

²⁷แต่พระองค์ตรัสว่า "สิ่งที่มนุษย์ทำไม่ได้ พระเจ้าทรงกระทำได้"

²⁸Peter said, “Look, we have left everything, and followed you.”

²⁸เปโตรจึงทูลว่า "ดูเถิด ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายได้สละทิ้งสิ่งสารพัด ติดตามพระองค์มา"

²⁹He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for the Kingdom of God’s sake,

²⁹พระองค์จึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ถ้าผู้ใดได้สละเรือน หรือบิดามารดา หรือพี่น้อง หรือภรรยา หรือบุตร เพราะเห็นแก่อาณาจักรของพระเจ้า

³⁰ who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life.”

³⁰ในเวลานี้ผู้นั้นจะได้รับตอบแทนหลายเท่า และในโลกหน้าจะได้ชีวิตนิรันดร์"

³¹He took the twelve aside, and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.

³¹พระองค์ทรงพาสาวกสิบสองคนไปกับพระองค์แล้วตรัสกับเขาว่า "ดูเถิด เราทั้งหลายจะขึ้นไปยังกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และสิ่งสารพัดซึ่งเหล่าศาสดาพยากรณ์ได้เขียนไว้ว่าด้วยบุตรมนุษย์นั้นจะสำเร็จ

³² For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on.

³²ด้วยว่าบุตรมนุษย์นั้นจะต้องถูกมอบไว้กับคนต่างชาติ และเขาจะเยาะเย้ยท่าน กระทำหยาบคายแก่ท่าน ถ่มน้ำลายรดท่าน

³³ They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again.”

³³เขาจะโบยตีและฆ่าท่านเสีย แล้วในวันที่สามท่านจะเป็นขึ้นมาใหม่"

³⁴They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they didn’t understand the things that were said.

³⁴ฝ่ายเหล่าสาวกมิได้เข้าใจในสิ่งเหล่านั้นเลย และคำนั้นก็ถูกซ่อนไว้จากเขา และเขาไม่รู้เนื้อความซึ่งพระองค์ตรัสนั้น

³⁵It happened, as he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging.

³⁵ต่อมาเมื่อพระองค์เสด็จมาใกล้เมืองเยรีโค มีคนตาบอดคนหนึ่งนั่งขอทานอยู่ริมหนทาง

³⁶Hearing a multitude going by, he asked what this meant.

³⁶เมื่อเขาได้ยินเสียงประชาชนเดินผ่านไป จึงถามว่าเรื่องอะไรกัน

³⁷They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.

³⁷คนพวกนั้นจึงบอกเขาว่า พระเยซูชาวนาซาเร็ธเสด็จไป

³⁸He cried out, “Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!”

³⁸คนตาบอดนั้นจึงร้องว่า "ท่านเยซู บุตรดาวิดเจ้าข้า ขอทรงเมตตาข้าพระองค์เถิด"

³⁹Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”

³⁹คนที่เดินไปข้างหน้านั้นจึงห้ามเขาให้นิ่ง แต่เขายิ่งร้องขึ้นว่า "บุตรดาวิดเจ้าข้า ขอทรงเมตตาข้าพระองค์เถิด"

⁴⁰Standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him,

⁴⁰พระเยซูทรงประทับยืนอยู่สั่งให้พาคนตาบอดมาหาพระองค์ เมื่อเขามาใกล้แล้ว พระองค์ทรงถามเขา

⁴¹ “What do you want me to do?” He said, “Lord, that I may see again.”

⁴¹ว่า "เจ้าปรารถนาจะให้เราทำอะไรให้เจ้า" เขาทูลว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า โปรดให้ข้าพระองค์เห็นได้"

⁴²Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you.”

⁴²พระเยซูตรัสแก่เขาว่า "จงเห็นเถิด ความเชื่อของเจ้าได้กระทำให้ตัวเจ้าหายปกติ"

⁴³Immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.

⁴³ในทันใดนั้นเขาก็เห็นได้ และตามพระองค์ไปพลางถวายเกียรติแด่พระเจ้า และเมื่อคนทั้งปวงได้เห็นเช่นนั้นก็สรรเสริญพระเจ้า
