¹He entered and was passing through Jericho.

¹ฝ่ายพระเยซูจึงเสด็จเข้าเมืองเยรีโคและกำลังจะทรงผ่านไป

²There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.

²ดูเถิด มีชายคนหนึ่งชื่อศักเคียส ผู้ซึ่งเป็นนายด่านภาษีและเป็นคนมั่งมี

³He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short.

³ศักเคียสพยายามจะดูให้เห็นพระเยซูว่าพระองค์เป็นผู้ใด แต่ดูไม่เห็นเพราะคนแน่น ด้วยเขาเป็นคนเตี้ย

⁴He ran on ahead, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was to pass that way.

⁴เขาจึงวิ่งไปข้างหน้าขึ้นต้นซุกะโมรเพื่อจะได้เห็นพระองค์ เพราะว่าพระองค์จะเสด็จไปทางนั้น

⁵When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”

⁵เมื่อพระเยซูเสด็จมาถึงที่นั่น พระองค์ทรงแหงนพระพักตร์ดูศักเคียสแล้วตรัสแก่เขาว่า "ศักเคียสเอ๋ย จงรีบลงมา เพราะว่าเราจะต้องพักอยู่ในบ้านของท่านวันนี้"

⁶He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.

⁶แล้วเขาก็รีบลงมาต้อนรับพระองค์ด้วยความปรีดี

⁷When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”

⁷เมื่อคนทั้งปวงเห็นแล้วเขาก็พากันบ่นว่า "พระองค์เข้าไปพักอยู่กับคนบาป"

⁸Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”

⁸ฝ่ายศักเคียสยืนทูลองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าว่า "ดูเถิด พระองค์เจ้าข้า ทรัพย์สิ่งของของข้าพระองค์ ข้าพระองค์ยอมให้คนอนาถาครึ่งหนึ่ง และถ้าข้าพระองค์ได้ฉ้อโกงของของผู้ใด ข้าพระองค์ยอมคืนให้เขาสี่เท่า"

⁹Jesus said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.

⁹พระเยซูตรัสกับเขาว่า "วันนี้ความรอดมาถึงครอบครัวนี้แล้ว เพราะคนนี้เป็นลูกของอับราฮัมด้วย

¹⁰ For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”

¹⁰เพราะว่าบุตรมนุษย์ได้มาเพื่อจะแสวงหาและช่วยผู้ที่หลงหายไปนั้นให้รอด"

¹¹As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that the Kingdom of God would be revealed immediately.

¹¹เมื่อเขาทั้งหลายได้ยินเหตุการณ์นั้น พระองค์ได้ตรัสคำอุปมาเรื่องหนึ่งให้เขาฟังต่อไป เพราะพระองค์เสด็จมาใกล้กรุงเยรูซาเล็มแล้ว และเพราะเขาทั้งหลายคิดว่าอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าจะปรากฏโดยพลัน

¹²He said therefore, “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

¹²เหตุฉะนั้นพระองค์จึงตรัสว่า "มีเจ้านายองค์หนึ่งไปเมืองไกล เพื่อจะรับอำนาจมาครองอาณาจักรแล้วจะกลับมา

¹³ He called ten servants of his, and gave them ten mina coins, 10 minas was more than 3 years’ wages for an agricultural laborer. and told them, ‘Conduct business until I come.’

¹³ท่านจึงเรียกผู้รับใช้ของท่านสิบคนมามอบเงินไว้แก่เขาสิบมินา สั่งเขาว่า `จงเอาไปค้าขายจนเราจะกลับมา'

¹⁴ But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to reign over us.’

¹⁴แต่ชาวเมืองชังท่านผู้นั้น จึงใช้คณะทูตตามไปทูลท่านว่า `เราไม่ต้องการให้ผู้นี้ครอบครองเรา'

¹⁵ “It happened when he had come back again, having received the kingdom, that he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.

¹⁵ต่อมาเมื่อท่านได้รับอำนาจครองอาณาจักรกลับมาแล้ว ท่านจึงสั่งให้เรียกผู้รับใช้ทั้งหลายที่ท่านได้ให้เงินไว้นั้นมา เพื่อจะได้รู้ว่าเขาทุกคนค้าขายได้กำไรกี่มากน้อย

¹⁶ The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’

¹⁶ฝ่ายคนแรกมาบอกว่า `ท่านเจ้าข้า เงินมินาหนึ่งของท่านได้กำไรสิบมินา'

¹⁷ “He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’

¹⁷ท่านจึงพูดกับเขาว่า `ดีแล้ว เจ้าเป็นผู้รับใช้ที่ดี เพราะเจ้าสัตย์ซื่อในของเล็กน้อย เจ้าจงมีอำนาจครอบครองสิบเมืองเถิด'

¹⁸ “The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’

¹⁸คนที่สองมาบอกว่า `ท่านเจ้าข้า เงินมินาหนึ่งของท่านได้กำไรห้ามินา'

¹⁹ “So he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’

¹⁹ท่านจึงพูดกับเขาเหมือนกันว่า `เจ้าจงครอบครองห้าเมืองเถิด'

²⁰ Another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief,

²⁰อีกคนหนึ่งมาบอกว่า `ท่านเจ้าข้า ดูเถิด นี่เงินมินาหนึ่งของท่าน ซึ่งข้าพเจ้าได้เอาผ้าห่อเก็บไว้

²¹ for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’

²¹เพราะข้าพเจ้ากลัวท่าน ด้วยว่าท่านเป็นคนเข้มงวด ท่านเก็บผลซึ่งท่านมิได้ลงแรง และเกี่ยวที่ท่านมิได้หว่าน'

²² “He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth will I judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down, and reaping that which I didn’t sow.

²²ท่านจึงตอบเขาว่า `เจ้าผู้รับใช้ชั่ว เราจะปรับโทษเจ้าโดยคำของเจ้าเอง เจ้าก็รู้หรือว่าเราเป็นคนเข้มงวด เก็บผลซึ่งเรามิได้ลงแรง และเกี่ยวที่เรามิได้หว่าน

²³ Then why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’

²³ก็เหตุไฉนเจ้ามิได้ฝากเงินของเราไว้ที่ธนาคารเล่า เมื่อเรามาจะได้รับเงินของเรากับดอกเบี้ยด้วย'

²⁴ He said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina away from him, and give it to him who has the ten minas.’

²⁴แล้วท่านสั่งคนที่ยืนอยู่ที่นั่นว่า `จงเอาเงินมินาหนึ่งนั้นไปจากเขา ให้แก่คนที่มีสิบมินา'

²⁵ “They said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’

²⁵(คนเหล่านั้นบอกท่านว่า `ท่านเจ้าข้า เขามีสิบมินาแล้ว')

²⁶ ‘For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.

²⁶`เราบอกเจ้าทั้งหลายว่า ทุกคนที่มีอยู่แล้วจะเพิ่มเติมให้เขาอีก แต่ผู้ที่ไม่มีแม้ว่าซึ่งเขามีอยู่นั้นจะต้องเอาไปจากเขา

²⁷ But bring those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’”

²⁷ฝ่ายพวกศัตรูของเราที่ไม่ต้องการให้เราครอบครองเขานั้น จงพาเขามาที่นี่และฆ่าเสียต่อหน้าเรา'"

²⁸Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

²⁸เมื่อพระองค์ตรัสคำเหล่านั้นแล้ว พระองค์ทรงดำเนินนำหน้าเขาไปจะขึ้นไปยังกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม

²⁹It happened, when he drew near to Bethsphage TR, NU read “Bethpage” instead of “Bethsphage” and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples,

²⁹ต่อมาเมื่อพระองค์เสด็จมาใกล้หมู่บ้านเบธฟายีและหมู่บ้านเบธานีบนภูเขาซึ่งเรียกว่า มะกอกเทศ พระองค์ทรงใช้สาวกสองคนของพระองค์ไป

³⁰saying, “Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, whereon no man ever yet sat. Untie it, and bring it.

³⁰สั่งว่า "จงเข้าไปในหมู่บ้านที่อยู่ตรงหน้า เมื่อเข้าไปแล้วจะพบลูกลาตัวหนึ่งผูกอยู่ ที่ยังไม่เคยมีใครขึ้นขี่เลย จงแก้มันจูงมาเถิด

³¹ If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say to him: ‘The Lord needs it.’”

³¹ถ้ามีผู้ใดถามท่านว่า `ท่านแก้มันทำไม' จงบอกเขาว่า `เพราะองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงประสงค์ลูกลานี้'"

³²Those who were sent went away, and found things just as he had told them.

³²สาวกที่รับใช้นั้นได้ไปพบเหมือนที่พระองค์ตรัสแก่เขาแล้ว

³³As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”

³³เมื่อเขากำลังแก้ลูกลานั้น พวกเจ้าของก็ถามเขาว่า "ท่านแก้ลูกลาทำไม"

³⁴They said, “The Lord needs it.”

³⁴ฝ่ายเขาตอบว่า "องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงประสงค์ลูกลานี้"

³⁵They brought it to Jesus. They threw their cloaks on the colt, and set Jesus on them.

³⁵แล้วเขาก็จูงลูกลามาถึงพระเยซูและเอาเสื้อของตนปูลงบนหลังลา และเชิญพระเยซูขึ้นทรงลานั้น

³⁶As he went, they spread their cloaks in the way.

³⁶เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จไป เขาทั้งหลายก็เอาเสื้อผ้าของตนปูลงตามหนทาง

³⁷As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,

³⁷เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จมาใกล้ที่ซึ่งจะลงไปจากภูเขามะกอกเทศแล้ว เหล่าสาวกทุกคนมีความเปรมปรีดิ์เพราะบรรดามหกิจซึ่งเขาได้เห็นนั้น จึงเริ่มสรรเสริญพระเจ้าเสียงดัง

³⁸saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Psalm 118:26 Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”

³⁸ว่า "ขอให้พระมหากษัตริย์ผู้ที่เสด็จมาในพระนามขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงพระเจริญ จงมีสันติสุขในสวรรค์ และทรงสง่าราศีในที่สูงสุด"

³⁹Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”

³⁹ฝ่ายฟาริสีบางคนในหมู่ประชาชนนั้นทูลพระองค์ว่า "อาจารย์เจ้าข้า จงห้ามเหล่าสาวกของท่าน"

⁴⁰He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.”

⁴⁰พระองค์ตรัสตอบเขาว่า "เราบอกท่านทั้งหลายว่า ถึงคนเหล่านี้จะนิ่งเสีย ศิลาทั้งหลายก็ยังจะส่งเสียงร้องทันที"

⁴¹When he drew near, he saw the city and wept over it,

⁴¹ครั้นพระองค์เสด็จมาใกล้ทอดพระเนตรเห็นกรุงแล้ว ก็กันแสงสงสารกรุงนั้น

⁴²saying, “If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes.

⁴²ตรัสว่า "ถ้าเจ้า คือเจ้าเอง รู้ในกาลวันนี้ว่า สิ่งอะไรจะให้สันติสุข แต่เดี๋ยวนี้สิ่งนั้นบังซ่อนไว้จากตาของเจ้าแล้ว

⁴³ For the days will come on you, when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side,

⁴³ด้วยว่าเวลาจะมาถึงเจ้า เมื่อศัตรูของเจ้าจะก่อเชิงเทินต่อสู้เจ้า และล้อมขังเจ้าไว้ทุกด้าน

⁴⁴ and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.”

⁴⁴แล้วจะเหวี่ยงเจ้าลงให้ราบบนพื้นดิน กับลูกทั้งหลายของเจ้าซึ่งอยู่ในเจ้า และเขาจะไม่ปล่อยให้ศิลาซ้อนทับกันไว้ภายในเจ้าเลย เพราะเจ้าไม่ได้รู้เวลาที่พระองค์เสด็จมาเยี่ยมเจ้า"

⁴⁵He entered into the temple, and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,

⁴⁵ฝ่ายพระองค์เสด็จเข้าในพระวิหาร แล้วทรงเริ่มขับไล่คนทั้งหลายที่ซื้อขายอยู่นั้น

⁴⁶saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ Isaiah 56:7 but you have made it a ‘den of robbers’!” Jeremiah 7:11

⁴⁶ตรัสแก่เขาว่า "มีพระวจนะเขียนไว้ว่า `นิเวศของเราเป็นนิเวศสำหรับอธิษฐาน' แต่เจ้าทั้งหลายมากระทำให้เป็น `ถ้ำของพวกโจร'"

⁴⁷He was teaching daily in the temple, but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people sought to destroy him.

⁴⁷พระองค์ทรงสั่งสอนในพระวิหารทุกวัน แต่พวกปุโรหิตใหญ่ พวกธรรมาจารย์ และคนสำคัญของพลเมืองได้หาช่องที่จะประหารพระองค์เสีย

⁴⁸They couldn’t find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.

⁴⁸แต่เขาไม่พบช่องทางที่จะกระทำอะไรได้ เพราะว่าคนทั้งปวงชอบฟังพระองค์มาก
