¹It happened on one of those days, as he was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the Good News, that the TR adds “chief” priests and scribes came to him with the elders.

¹ต่อมาวันหนึ่งเมื่อพระองค์กำลังทรงสั่งสอนคนทั้งปวงในพระวิหารและประกาศข่าวประเสริฐ พวกปุโรหิตใหญ่ พวกธรรมาจารย์ และพวกผู้ใหญ่มาพบพระองค์

²They asked him, “Tell us: by what authority do you do these things? Or who is giving you this authority?”

²และทูลพระองค์ว่า "จงบอกพวกเราเถิด ท่านกระทำการเหล่านี้โดยสิทธิอันใด หรือใครให้สิทธินี้แก่ท่าน"

³He answered them, “I also will ask you one question. Tell me:

³พระองค์ตรัสตอบเขาว่า "เราจะถามท่านทั้งหลายสักข้อหนึ่งด้วย จงตอบเราเถิด

⁴ the baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men?”

⁴คือบัพติศมาของยอห์นนั้นมาจากสวรรค์หรือมาจากมนุษย์"

⁵They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’

⁵เขาจึงปรึกษากันว่า "ถ้าเราจะว่า `มาจากสวรรค์' ท่านจะถามว่า `เหตุไฉนท่านจึงไม่เชื่อยอห์นเล่า'

⁶But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”

⁶แต่ถ้าเราจะว่า `มาจากมนุษย์' คนทั้งปวงก็จะเอาหินขว้างเรา เพราะเขาทั้งหลายถือกันว่ายอห์นเป็นศาสดาพยากรณ์"

⁷They answered that they didn’t know where it was from.

⁷เขาจึงตอบว่าเขาไม่ทราบว่ามาจากไหน

⁸Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

⁸พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "เราจะไม่บอกท่านทั้งหลายเหมือนกันว่า เรากระทำการเหล่านี้โดยสิทธิอันใด"

⁹He began to tell the people this parable. “A NU (in brackets) and TR add “certain” man planted a vineyard, and rented it out to some farmers, and went into another country for a long time.

⁹แล้วพระองค์ตั้งต้นตรัสคำอุปมาให้คนทั้งหลายฟังดังต่อไปนี้ว่า "ยังมีชายคนหนึ่งได้ทำสวนองุ่นและให้ชาวสวนเช่า แล้วก็ไปเมืองไกลเสียช้านาน

¹⁰ At the proper season, he sent a servant to the farmers to collect his share of the fruit of the vineyard. But the farmers beat him, and sent him away empty.

¹⁰เมื่อถึงเวลาแล้วจึงใช้ผู้รับใช้คนหนึ่งไปหาคนเช่าสวนเหล่านั้น เพื่อเขาจะได้ให้ผลองุ่นจากสวนแบ่งแก่เขาบ้าง แต่คนเช่าสวนนั้นได้เฆี่ยนตีผู้รับใช้คนนั้นและไล่ให้กลับไปมือเปล่า

¹¹ He sent yet another servant, and they also beat him, and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.

¹¹แล้วเจ้าของสวนจึงใช้ผู้รับใช้อีกคนหนึ่ง แต่คนเช่าสวนได้เฆี่ยนตีและทำการน่าอัปยศต่างๆแก่ผู้รับใช้นั้นด้วย และได้ไล่ให้กลับไปมือเปล่า

¹² He sent yet a third, and they also wounded him, and threw him out.

¹²แล้วเจ้าของสวนจึงใช้คนที่สามไปและคนเช่าสวนนั้นก็ทำให้เขาบาดเจ็บ แล้วผลักไสออกไป

¹³ The lord of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. It may be that seeing him, they will respect him.’

¹³ฝ่ายเจ้าของสวนองุ่นจึงว่า `เราจะทำอย่างไรดี เราจะใช้บุตรชายที่รักของเราไป เมื่อเห็นบุตรนั้นเขาคงจะเคารพนับถือ'

¹⁴ “But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.’

¹⁴แต่พวกคนเช่าสวนเมื่อเห็นบุตรนั้นก็ปรึกษากันว่า `คนนี้แหละเป็นทายาท มาเถอะ ให้เราฆ่าเขาเสีย เพื่อมรดกจะตกกับเรา'

¹⁵ They threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them?

¹⁵แล้วเขาก็ผลักบุตรนั้นออกไปนอกสวนฆ่าเสีย เหตุฉะนั้นเจ้าของสวนจะทำอย่างไรกับเขาเหล่านั้น

¹⁶ He will come and destroy these farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.” When they heard it, they said, “May it never be!”

¹⁶ท่านจะมาฆ่าคนเช่าสวนเหล่านั้นเสีย แล้วจะเอาสวนองุ่นนั้นให้ผู้อื่นเช่า" คนทั้งหลายเมื่อได้ยินดังนั้นจึงว่า "ขอพระเจ้าอย่ายอมให้เป็นเช่นนั้นเลย"

¹⁷But he looked at them, and said, “Then what is this that is written, ‘The stone which the builders rejected, the same was made the chief cornerstone?’ Psalm 118:22

¹⁷ฝ่ายพระองค์ทรงเพ่งดูเขาและตรัสว่า "เหตุฉะนั้นพระวจนะซึ่งเขียนไว้นั้นหมายความอย่างไรกันซึ่งว่า `ศิลาซึ่งช่างก่อได้ปฏิเสธเสีย ได้กลับกลายเป็นศิลามุมเอกแล้ว'

¹⁸ Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, but it will crush whomever it falls on to dust.”

¹⁸ผู้ใดล้มทับศิลานั้น ผู้นั้นจะต้องแตกหักไป แต่ศิลานั้นจะตกทับผู้ใด ผู้นั้นจะแหลกละเอียดไป"

¹⁹The chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on him that very hour, but they feared the people—for they knew he had spoken this parable against them.

¹⁹ฝ่ายพวกปุโรหิตใหญ่และพวกธรรมาจารย์รู้อยู่ว่า พระองค์ได้ตรัสคำอุปมานั้นกระทบพวกเขาเอง จึงอยากจะจับพระองค์ในเวลานั้นแต่เขากลัวประชาชน

²⁰They watched him, and sent out spies, who pretended to be righteous, that they might trap him in something he said, so as to deliver him up to the power and authority of the governor.

²⁰เขาจึงตามดูพระองค์ และใช้คนให้ปลอมเป็นเหมือนคนชอบธรรมไปสอดแนม หวังจะจับผิดในพระดำรัสของพระองค์ เพื่อจะมอบพระองค์ไว้ในอำนาจและอาชญาของเจ้าเมือง

²¹They asked him, “Teacher, we know that you say and teach what is right, and aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God.

²¹คนเหล่านั้นจึงทูลถามพระองค์ว่า "อาจารย์เจ้าข้า ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายทราบอยู่ว่า ท่านกล่าวและสั่งสอนล้วนแต่ความจริงและมิได้เลือกหน้าผู้ใด แต่สั่งสอนทางของพระเจ้าจริงๆ

²²Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”

²²การที่จะส่งส่วยให้แก่ซีซาร์นั้นถูกต้องตามพระราชบัญญัติหรือไม่"

²³But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Why do you test me?

²³ฝ่ายพระองค์ทรงหยั่งรู้อุบายของเขาจึงตรัสแก่เขาว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายทดลองเราทำไม

²⁴ Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?” They answered, “Caesar’s.”

²⁴จงให้เราดูเงินตราเหรียญหนึ่งเถิด รูปและคำจารึกนี้เป็นของใคร" เขาทูลตอบว่า "ของซีซาร์"

²⁵He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

²⁵แล้วพระองค์ตรัสกับเขาว่า "ของของซีซาร์จงถวายแก่ซีซาร์ และของของพระเจ้าจงถวายแด่พระเจ้า"

²⁶They weren’t able to trap him in his words before the people. They marveled at his answer, and were silent.

²⁷Some of the Sadducees came to him, those who deny that there is a resurrection.

²⁸They asked him, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies having a wife, and he is childless, his brother should take the wife, and raise up children for his brother.

²⁸ว่า "อาจารย์เจ้าข้า โมเสสได้เขียนสั่งข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายไว้ว่า `ถ้าชายผู้ใดตายและมีภรรยา แต่ไม่มีบุตร ก็ให้น้องชายรับพี่สะใภ้นั้นไว้เป็นภรรยาของตน เพื่อสืบเชื้อสายของพี่ชายไว้'

²⁹There were therefore seven brothers. The first took a wife, and died childless.

²⁹ยังมีพี่น้องผู้ชายเจ็ดคน พี่หัวปีมีภรรยาแล้วก็ตายไม่มีบุตร

³⁰The second took her as wife, and he died childless.

³⁰แล้วน้องที่สองก็รับหญิงนั้นเป็นภรรยา แล้วเขาก็ตายไม่มีบุตร

³¹The third took her, and likewise the seven all left no children, and died.

³¹ที่สามนั้นก็รับหญิงนั้นเป็นภรรยา ทั้งเจ็ดคนก็เหมือนกันไม่มีบุตร แล้วก็ตาย

³²Afterward the woman also died.

³²ที่สุดผู้หญิงนั้นก็ตายด้วย

³³Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them will she be? For the seven had her as a wife.”

³³เหตุฉะนั้น ในวันที่จะฟื้นขึ้นมาจากความตาย หญิงนั้นจะเป็นภรรยาของใคร ด้วยนางได้เป็นภรรยาของชายทั้งเจ็ดนั้นแล้ว"

³⁴Jesus said to them, “The children of this age marry, and are given in marriage.

³⁴พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า "คนในโลกนี้มีการสมรสกัน และยกให้เป็นสามีภรรยากัน

³⁵ But those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage.

³⁵แต่เขาเหล่านั้นที่สมควรจะลุถึงโลกหน้า และลุถึงการฟื้นขึ้นมาจากความตาย ไม่มีการสมรสกัน หรือยกให้เป็นสามีภรรยากัน

³⁶ For they can’t die any more, for they are like the angels, and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.

³⁶และเขาจะตายอีกไม่ได้ เพราะเขาเป็นเหมือนทูตสวรรค์ เป็นบุตรของพระเจ้า ด้วยว่าเป็นลูกแห่งการฟื้นขึ้นมาจากความตาย

³⁷ But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he called the Lord ‘The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ Exodus 3:6

³⁷แต่คนที่ตายจะถูกชุบให้เป็นขึ้นมาใหม่นั้น โมเสสก็ยังได้สำแดงในเรื่องพุ่มไม้ คือที่ได้เรียกองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าว่า `เป็นพระเจ้าของอับราฮัม เป็นพระเจ้าของอิสอัค และเป็นพระเจ้าของยาโคบ'

³⁸ Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for all are alive to him.”

³⁸พระองค์มิได้ทรงเป็นพระเจ้าของคนตาย แต่ทรงเป็นพระเจ้าของคนเป็น ด้วยว่าจำเพาะพระเจ้าคนทุกคนเป็นอยู่"

³⁹Some of the scribes answered, “Teacher, you speak well.”

³⁹ธรรมาจารย์บางคนจึงทูลว่า "อาจารย์เจ้าข้า ท่านพูดดีแล้ว"

⁴⁰They didn’t dare to ask him any more questions.

⁴⁰หลังจากนั้น พวกเขาก็ไม่กล้าจะทูลถามพระองค์ต่อไปอีก

⁴¹He said to them, “Why do they say that the Christ is David’s son?

⁴¹พระองค์จึงตรัสถามเขาว่า "ที่คนทั้งหลายว่า พระคริสต์ทรงเป็นเชื้อสายของดาวิดนั้นเป็นได้อย่างไร

⁴² David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,

⁴²ด้วยว่าท่านดาวิดเองได้กล่าวไว้ในหนังสือสดุดีว่า `องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสกับองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของข้าพเจ้าว่า จงนั่งที่ขวามือของเรา

⁴³ until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’ Psalm 110:1

⁴³จนกว่าเราจะกระทำให้ศัตรูของท่านเป็นแท่นรองเท้าของท่าน'

⁴⁴ “David therefore calls him Lord, so how is he his son?”

⁴⁵In the hearing of all the people, he said to his disciples,

⁴⁶ “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts;

⁴⁶"จงระวังพวกธรรมาจารย์ให้ดี ผู้ที่ชอบสวมเสื้อยาวเดินไปมา ชอบให้คนคำนับกลางตลาด ชอบนั่งที่สูงในธรรมศาลาและที่อันมีเกียรติในการเลี้ยง

⁴⁷ who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers: these will receive greater condemnation.”

⁴⁷เขามักริบเอาเรือนของหญิงม่าย และแสร้งอธิษฐานเสียยืดยาว เขาทั้งหลายนั้นจะต้องมีโทษหนักยิ่งขึ้น"
