¹He looked up, and saw the rich people who were putting their gifts into the treasury.

¹พระองค์เงยพระพักตร์ทอดพระเนตรเห็นคนมั่งมีทั้งหลายนำเงินมาใส่ในตู้เก็บเงินถวาย

²He saw a certain poor widow casting in two small brass coins. literally, “two lepta.” 2 lepta was about 1% of a day’s wages for an agricultural laborer.

²พระองค์ทอดพระเนตรเห็นหญิงม่ายคนหนึ่งเป็นคนจนนำเหรียญทองแดงสองอันมาใส่ด้วย

³He said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow put in more than all of them,

³พระองค์ตรัสว่า "เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า หญิงม่ายจนคนนี้ได้ใส่ไว้มากกว่าคนทั้งปวงนี้

⁴ for all these put in gifts for God from their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, put in all that she had to live on.”

⁴เพราะว่าคนทั้งปวงนี้ได้เอาเงินเหลือใช้ของเขามาใส่ถวายแด่พระเจ้า แต่ผู้หญิงนี้ขัดสนที่สุด ยังได้เอาเงินที่มีอยู่สำหรับเลี้ยงชีวิตของตนมาใส่จนหมด"

⁵As some were talking about the temple and how it was decorated with beautiful stones and gifts, he said,

⁵เมื่อบางคนพูดชมพระวิหารว่าได้ตกแต่งไว้ด้วยศิลางามและเครื่องถวาย พระองค์จึงตรัสว่า

⁶ “As for these things which you see, the days will come, in which there will not be left here one stone on another that will not be thrown down.”

⁶"สิ่งเหล่านี้ที่ท่านทั้งหลายเห็น วันหนึ่งศิลาที่ซ้อนทับกันอยู่ที่นี่ซึ่งจะไม่ถูกทำลายลงก็ไม่มี"

⁷They asked him, “Teacher, so when will these things be? What is the sign that these things are about to happen?”

⁷เขาทั้งหลายทูลถามพระองค์ว่า "พระอาจารย์เจ้าข้า เหตุการณ์เหล่านี้จะบังเกิดขึ้นเมื่อไร สิ่งไรเป็นหมายสำคัญว่าการณ์ทั้งปวงนี้จวนจะบังเกิดขึ้น"

⁸He said, “Watch out that you don’t get led astray, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he or, I AM ,’ and, ‘The time is at hand.’ Therefore don’t follow them.

⁸พระองค์จึงตรัสว่า "ระวังให้ดี อย่าให้ผู้ใดล่อลวงท่านให้หลง ด้วยว่าจะมีหลายคนมาต่างอ้างนามของเราและว่า `เราเป็นพระคริสต์' และว่า `เวลานั้นใกล้เข้ามาแล้ว' ท่านทั้งหลายอย่าตามเขาไปเลย

⁹ When you hear of wars and disturbances, don’t be terrified, for these things must happen first, but the end won’t come immediately.”

⁹เมื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะได้ยินถึงการสงครามและการจลาจล อย่าตกใจกลัว เพราะว่าสิ่งเหล่านั้นจำต้องเกิดขึ้นก่อน แต่ที่สุดปลายยังจะไม่มาทันที"

¹⁰Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

¹⁰แล้วพระองค์ตรัสแก่เขาว่า "`ประชาชาติต่อประชาชาติ ราชอาณาจักรต่อราชอาณาจักรจะต่อสู้กัน'

¹¹ There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places. There will be terrors and great signs from heaven.

¹¹ทั้งจะเกิดแผ่นดินไหวใหญ่ในที่ต่างๆ และจะเกิดกันดารอาหารและโรคภัย และจะมีความวิบัติอันน่ากลัว และหมายสำคัญใหญ่ๆจากฟ้าสวรรค์

¹² But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name’s sake.

¹²แต่ก่อนเหตุการณ์เหล่านั้นเขาจะจับท่านไว้ และจะข่มเหงท่านและมอบท่านไว้ในธรรมศาลาและในคุก และพาท่านไปต่อหน้ากษัตริย์และเจ้าเมืองเพราะเหตุนามของเรา

¹³ It will turn out as a testimony for you.

¹³การนั้นจะเกิดแก่ท่านเพื่อท่านจะได้เป็นพยาน

¹⁴ Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand how to answer,

¹⁴เหตุฉะนั้น ท่านทั้งหลายต้องปลงใจไว้ว่า จะไม่คิดนึกก่อนว่าจะแก้ตัวอย่างไร

¹⁵ for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict.

¹⁵ด้วยว่าเราจะให้ปากและปัญญาแก่ท่าน ซึ่งศัตรูทั้งหลายของท่านจะต่อต้านและคัดค้านไม่ได้

¹⁶ You will be handed over even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends. They will cause some of you to be put to death.

¹⁶แม้แต่บิดามารดาญาติพี่น้องและมิตรสหายจะทรยศท่านไว้ และพวกเขาจะฆ่าบางคนในพวกท่านเสีย

¹⁷ You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake.

¹⁷คนทั้งปวงจะเกลียดชังท่านเพราะเหตุนามของเรา

¹⁸ And not a hair of your head will perish.

¹⁸แต่ผมของท่านสักเส้นหนึ่งจะเสียไปก็หามิได้

¹⁹ “By your endurance you will win your lives.

¹⁹ท่านจะได้ชีวิตรอดโดยความอดทนของท่าน

²⁰ “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is at hand.

²⁰เมื่อท่านเห็นกองทัพทั้งหลายมาตั้งล้อมรอบกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม เมื่อนั้นจงรู้ว่าวิบัติของกรุงนั้นก็ใกล้เข้ามาแล้ว

²¹ Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let those who are in the midst of her depart. Let those who are in the country not enter therein.

²¹เวลานั้นให้ผู้ที่อยู่ในแคว้นยูเดียหนีไปยังภูเขาและผู้ที่อยู่ในกรุงให้ออกไป และผู้ที่อยู่บ้านนอกอย่าให้เข้ามาในกรุง

²² For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

²²เพราะว่าเวลานั้นเป็นวันแห่งการแก้แค้นเพื่อจะให้สิ่งสารพัดที่เขียนไว้นั้นสำเร็จ

²³ Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse infants in those days! For there will be great distress in the land, and wrath to this people.

²³แต่ในวันเหล่านั้นวิบัติแก่หญิงที่มีครรภ์หรือมีลูกอ่อนกินนมอยู่ เพราะว่าจะมีความทุกข์ร้อนใหญ่หลวงบนแผ่นดิน และจะทรงพระพิโรธแก่พลเมืองนี้

²⁴ They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

²⁴เขาจะล้มลงด้วยคมดาบ และต้องถูกกวาดเอาไปเป็นเชลยทั่วทุกประชาชาติ และคนต่างชาติจะเหยียบย่ำกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม จนกว่าเวลากำหนดของคนต่างชาตินั้นจะครบถ้วน

²⁵ There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth anxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the waves;

²⁵จะมีหมายสำคัญที่ดวงอาทิตย์ ที่ดวงจันทร์ และที่ดวงดาวทั้งปวง และบนแผ่นดินก็จะมีความทุกข์ร้อนตามชาติต่างๆ ซึ่งมีความฉงนสนเท่ห์เพราะเสียงกึกก้องของทะเลและคลื่น

²⁶ men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

²⁶จิตใจมนุษย์ก็จะสลบไสลไปเพราะความกลัว และเพราะสังหรณ์ถึงเหตุการณ์ซึ่งจะบังเกิดในโลก ด้วยว่า `บรรดาสิ่งที่มีอำนาจในท้องฟ้าจะสะเทือนสะท้าน'

²⁷ Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

²⁷เมื่อนั้นเขาจะเห็นบุตรมนุษย์เสด็จมาในเมฆ ทรงฤทธานุภาพและสง่าราศีเป็นอันมาก

²⁸ But when these things begin to happen, look up, and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near.”

²⁸เมื่อเหตุการณ์ทั้งปวงนี้เริ่มจะบังเกิดขึ้นนั้น จงยืดตัวและผงกศีรษะขึ้น ด้วยการไถ่ท่านใกล้จะถึงแล้ว"

²⁹He told them a parable. “See the fig tree, and all the trees.

²⁹พระองค์ตรัสคำอุปมาแก่เขาว่า "จงดูต้นมะเดื่อและต้นไม้ทั้งปวงเถิด

³⁰ When they are already budding, you see it and know by your own selves that the summer is already near.

³⁰เมื่อผลิใบออกแล้ว ท่านทั้งหลายก็เห็นและรู้อยู่เองว่าฤดูร้อนจวนจะถึงแล้ว

³¹ Even so you also, when you see these things happening, know that the Kingdom of God is near.

³¹เช่นนั้นแหละ เมื่อท่านทั้งหลายเห็นเหตุการณ์เหล่านั้นเกิดขึ้น ก็ให้รู้ว่าอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าใกล้จะถึงแล้ว

³² Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all things are accomplished.

³²เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า คนในชั่วอายุนี้จะไม่ล่วงลับไปก่อนสิ่งทั้งปวงนั้นจะสำเร็จ

³³ Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.

³³ฟ้าและดินจะล่วงไป แต่ถ้อยคำของเราจะสูญหายไปหามิได้เลย

³⁴ “So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly.

³⁴แต่จงระวังตัวให้ดี เกลือกว่าในเวลาหนึ่งเวลาใดใจของท่านจะล้นไปด้วยอาการกินและดื่ม และด้วยการเมา และด้วยคิดกังวลถึงชีวิตนี้ แล้วเวลานั้นจะมาถึงท่านโดยไม่ทันรู้ตัว

³⁵ For it will come like a snare on all those who dwell on the surface of all the earth.

³⁵เพราะว่าวันนั้นจะมาดุจบ่วงแร้วถึงคนทั้งปวงที่อยู่ทั่วพื้นแผ่นดินโลก

³⁶ Therefore be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

³⁶เหตุฉะนั้นจงเฝ้าระวังและอธิษฐานอยู่ทุกเวลา เพื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะสมควรที่จะพ้นเหตุการณ์ทั้งปวงซึ่งจะบังเกิดมานั้น และจะยืนอยู่ต่อหน้าบุตรมนุษย์ได้"

³⁷Every day Jesus was teaching in the temple, and every night he would go out and spend the night on the mountain that is called Olivet.

³⁷กลางวันพระองค์ทรงสั่งสอนในพระวิหาร และกลางคืนก็เสด็จออกไปประทับที่ภูเขาชื่อมะกอกเทศ

³⁸All the people came early in the morning to him in the temple to hear him.

³⁸คนทั้งปวงก็มาหาพระองค์ในพระวิหารแต่เช้าตรู่เพื่อจะฟังพระองค์
