¹When they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethsphage TR & NU read “Bethphage” instead of “Bethsphage” and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,

¹ครั้นพระองค์กับพวกสาวกมาใกล้กรุงเยรูซาเล็ม ถึงหมู่บ้านเบธฟายี และหมู่บ้านเบธานีเชิงภูเขามะกอกเทศ พระองค์ทรงใช้สาวกสองคน

²and said to them, “Go your way into the village that is opposite you. Immediately as you enter into it, you will find a young donkey tied, on which no one has sat. Untie him, and bring him.

²สั่งเขาว่า "จงเข้าไปในหมู่บ้านที่อยู่ตรงหน้าท่าน ครั้นเข้าไปแล้วในทันใดนั้นจะพบลูกลาตัวหนึ่งผูกอยู่ ที่ยังไม่มีใครขึ้นขี่เลย จงแก้มันจูงมาเถิด

³ If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs him;’ and immediately he will send him back here.”

³ถ้าผู้ใดถามท่านว่า `ท่านทำอย่างนี้ทำไม' จงบอกว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าต้องประสงค์ลูกลานี้ และประเดี๋ยวพระองค์จะส่งกลับคืนมาให้ที่นี่"

⁴They went away, and found a young donkey tied at the door outside in the open street, and they untied him.

⁴สาวกสองคนนั้นจึงไป แล้วพบลูกลาตัวนั้นผูกอยู่นอกประตูที่สี่แยก เขาจึงแก้มัน

⁵Some of those who stood there asked them, “What are you doing, untying the young donkey?”

⁵บางคนซึ่งยืนอยู่ที่นั่นถามเขาว่า "แก้ลูกลานั้นทำไม"

⁶They said to them just as Jesus had said, and they let them go.

⁶สาวกก็ตอบตามพระดำรัสสั่งของพระเยซู แล้วเขาก็ยอมให้เอาไป

⁷They brought the young donkey to Jesus, and threw their garments on it, and Jesus sat on it.

⁷สาวกจึงจูงลูกลามาถึงพระเยซู แล้วเอาเสื้อผ้าของตนปูลงบนหลังลา แล้วพระองค์จึงทรงลานั้น

⁸Many spread their garments on the way, and others were cutting down branches from the trees, and spreading them on the road.

⁸มีคนเป็นอันมากเอาเสื้อผ้าของตนปูลงตามถนนหนทาง และคนอื่นก็ตัดกิ่งไม้จากต้นไม้มาปูลงตามทางนั้น

⁹Those who went in front, and those who followed, cried out, “Hosanna “Hosanna” means “save us” or “help us, we pray.” ! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Psalm 118:25-26

⁹ฝ่ายคนที่เดินไปข้างหน้า กับผู้ที่ตามมาข้างหลัง ก็โห่ร้องว่า "โฮซันนา ขอให้พระองค์ผู้เสด็จมาในพระนามขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ทรงพระเจริญ

¹⁰Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

¹⁰ความสุขสวัสดิ์มงคลจงมีแก่อาณาจักรของดาวิด บรรพบุรุษของเรา ที่มาตั้งอยู่ในพระนามขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า โฮซันนาในที่สูงสุด"

¹¹Jesus entered into the temple in Jerusalem. When he had looked around at everything, it being now evening, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

¹¹พระเยซูก็เสด็จเข้ากรุงเยรูซาเล็มและเข้าไปในพระวิหาร เมื่อทอดพระเนตรสิ่งทั้งปวงแล้วเวลาก็จวนค่ำ จึงเสด็จออกไปยังหมู่บ้านเบธานีกับเหล่าสาวกสิบสองคนนั้น

¹²The next day, when they had come out from Bethany, he was hungry.

¹²ครั้นรุ่งขึ้นเมื่อพระองค์กับสาวกออกมาจากหมู่บ้านเบธานีแล้ว พระองค์ก็ทรงหิว

¹³Seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came to see if perhaps he might find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.

¹³พอทอดพระเนตรเห็นต้นมะเดื่อต้นหนึ่งแต่ไกลมีใบ จึงเสด็จเข้าไปดูว่ามีผลหรือไม่ ครั้นมาถึงต้นนั้นแล้ว ไม่เห็นมีผลมีแต่ใบเท่านั้น เพราะยังไม่ถึงฤดูผลมะเดื่อ

¹⁴Jesus told it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again!” and his disciples heard it.

¹⁴พระเยซูจึงตรัสแก่ต้นนั้นว่า "ตั้งแต่นี้ไปจะไม่มีใครได้กินผลจากเจ้าเลย" เหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ก็ได้ยินคำซึ่งพระองค์ตรัสนั้น

¹⁵They came to Jerusalem, and Jesus entered into the temple, and began to throw out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the seats of those who sold the doves.

¹⁵เมื่อพระองค์กับสาวกมาถึงกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม พระเยซูก็เสด็จเข้าไปในพระวิหาร แล้วเริ่มขับไล่บรรดาผู้ซื้อขายในพระวิหารนั้น และคว่ำโต๊ะผู้รับแลกเงิน กับทั้งคว่ำม้านั่งผู้ขายนกเขาเสีย

¹⁶He would not allow anyone to carry a container through the temple.

¹⁶และทรงห้ามมิให้ผู้ใดขนสิ่งใดๆเดินลัดพระวิหาร

¹⁷He taught, saying to them, “Isn’t it written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations?’ Isaiah 56:7 But you have made it a den of robbers!” Jeremiah 7:11

¹⁷พระองค์ตรัสสอนเขาว่า "มีพระวจนะเขียนไว้มิใช่หรือว่า `นิเวศของเราประชาชาติทั้งหลายจะเรียกว่า เป็นนิเวศอธิษฐาน' แต่เจ้าทั้งหลายได้กระทำให้เป็น `ถ้ำของพวกโจร'"

¹⁸The chief priests and the scribes heard it, and sought how they might destroy him. For they feared him, because all the multitude was astonished at his teaching.

¹⁸เมื่อพวกธรรมาจารย์และพวกปุโรหิตใหญ่ทราบอย่างนั้น จึงหาช่องที่จะประหารพระองค์เสีย เพราะเขากลัวพระองค์ ด้วยว่าประชาชนประหลาดใจด้วยคำสั่งสอนของพระองค์

¹⁹When evening came, he went out of the city.

¹⁹และเมื่อถึงเวลาเย็น พระองค์ได้เสด็จออกไปจากกรุง

²⁰As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away from the roots.

²⁰ครั้นเวลาเช้า เมื่อพระองค์กับเหล่าสาวกได้ผ่านที่นั้นไป ก็ได้เห็นมะเดื่อต้นนั้นเหี่ยวแห้งไปจนถึงราก

²¹Peter, remembering, said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which you cursed has withered away.”

²¹ฝ่ายเปโตรระลึกขึ้นได้จึงทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระอาจารย์เจ้าข้า ดูเถิด ต้นมะเดื่อที่พระองค์ได้สาปไว้นั้นก็เหี่ยวแห้งไปแล้ว"

²²Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.

²²พระเยซูจึงตรัสตอบเหล่าสาวกว่า "จงเชื่อในพระเจ้าเถิด

²³ For most certainly I tell you, whoever may tell this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and doesn’t doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is happening; he shall have whatever he says.

²³เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านว่า ถ้าผู้ใดๆจะสั่งภูเขานี้ว่า `จงลอยไปลงทะเล' และมิได้สงสัยในใจ แต่เชื่อว่าจะเป็นไปตามที่สั่งนั้น ก็จะเป็นไปตามคำสั่งนั้นจริง

²⁴ Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them.

²⁴เหตุฉะนั้นเราบอกท่านทั้งหลายว่า ขณะเมื่อท่านจะอธิษฐานขอสิ่งใด จงเชื่อว่าได้รับ และท่านจะได้รับสิ่งนั้น

²⁵ Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions.

²⁵เมื่อท่านยืนอธิษฐานอยู่ ถ้าท่านมีเหตุกับผู้หนึ่งผู้ใด จงยกโทษให้ผู้นั้นเสีย เพื่อพระบิดาของท่าน ผู้ทรงสถิตในสวรรค์ จะโปรดยกการละเมิดของท่านด้วย

²⁶ But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your transgressions.”

²⁶แต่ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายไม่ยกโทษให้ พระบิดาของท่าน ผู้ทรงสถิตในสวรรค์ จะไม่ทรงโปรดยกการละเมิดของท่านเหมือนกัน"

²⁷They came again to Jerusalem, and as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders came to him,

²⁷ฝ่ายพระองค์กับเหล่าสาวกมายังกรุงเยรูซาเล็มอีก เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จดำเนินอยู่ในพระวิหาร พวกปุโรหิตใหญ่ พวกธรรมาจารย์ และพวกผู้ใหญ่มาหาพระองค์

²⁸and they began saying to him, “By what authority do you do these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?”

²⁸ทูลพระองค์ว่า "ท่านมีสิทธิอันใดจึงได้ทำสิ่งเหล่านี้ ใครให้สิทธิแก่ท่านที่จะทำการนี้ได้"

²⁹Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

²⁹พระเยซูจึงตรัสตอบเขาว่า "เราจะถามท่านทั้งหลายสักข้อหนึ่งเหมือนกัน จงตอบเรา แล้วเราจะบอกท่านว่า เรากระทำการนี้โดยสิทธิอันใด

³⁰ The baptism of John—was it from heaven, or from men? Answer me.”

³⁰คือบัพติศมาของยอห์นนั้น มาจากสวรรค์หรือมาจากมนุษย์ จงตอบเราเถิด"

³¹They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we should say, ‘From heaven;’ he will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’

³¹เขาจึงปรึกษากันว่า "ถ้าเราจะว่า `มาจากสวรรค์' ท่านจะถามเราว่า `เหตุไฉนจึงไม่เชื่อยอห์นเล่า'

³²If we should say, ‘From men’”—they feared the people, for all held John to really be a prophet.

³²แต่ถ้าเราจะว่า `มาจากมนุษย์'" เขากลัวประชาชน เพราะประชาชนถือว่ายอห์นเป็นศาสดาพยากรณ์จริงๆ

³³They answered Jesus, “We don’t know.” Jesus said to them, “Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

³³เขาจึงทูลตอบพระเยซูว่า "พวกข้าพเจ้าไม่ทราบ" พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "เราจะไม่บอกท่านทั้งหลายเหมือนกันว่า เรากระทำการนี้โดยสิทธิอันใด"
