¹He began to speak to them in parables. “A man planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a pit for the winepress, built a tower, rented it out to a farmer, and went into another country.

¹พระองค์จึงเริ่มตรัสแก่เขาเป็นคำอุปมาว่า "ยังมีชายคนหนึ่งได้ทำสวนองุ่น แล้วล้อมรั้วต้นไม้ไว้รอบ เขาได้สกัดบ่อเก็บน้ำองุ่น และสร้างหอเฝ้า ให้ชาวสวนเช่า แล้วก็ไปเมืองไกลเสีย

² When it was time, he sent a servant to the farmer to get from the farmer his share of the fruit of the vineyard.

²ครั้นถึงฤดูผลองุ่นเขาจึงใช้ผู้รับใช้คนหนึ่งไปหาคนเช่าสวนนั้น เพื่อเขาจะได้รับส่วนผลของสวนองุ่นจากคนเช่าสวน

³ They took him, beat him, and sent him away empty.

³ฝ่ายคนเหล่านั้นก็จับผู้รับใช้นั้นเฆี่ยนตี แล้วไล่ให้กลับไปมือเปล่า

⁴ Again, he sent another servant to them; and they threw stones at him, wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully treated.

⁴อีกครั้งหนึ่งเจ้าของสวนใช้ผู้รับใช้อีกคนหนึ่งไปหาคนเช่าสวน คนเช่าสวนนั้นก็เอาหินขว้างผู้รับใช้นั้นศีรษะแตก และไล่ให้กลับไปอย่างน่าอัปยศ

⁵ Again he sent another; and they killed him; and many others, beating some, and killing some.

⁵อีกครั้งหนึ่งเจ้าของใช้ผู้รับใช้ไปอีกคนหนึ่ง เขาก็ฆ่าผู้รับใช้นั้นเสีย แล้วยังใช้ผู้รับใช้ไปอีกหลายคน เขาก็เฆี่ยนตีบ้าง ฆ่าเสียบ้าง

⁶ Therefore still having one, his beloved son, he sent him last to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

⁶เจ้าของสวนยังมีบุตรชายที่รักคนหนึ่ง จึงใช้บุตรคนนั้นไปเป็นครั้งสุดท้าย พูดว่า `เขาคงจะเคารพบุตรชายของเรา'

⁷ But those farmers said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’

⁷แต่คนเช่าสวนพูดกันว่า `คนนี้แหละเป็นทายาท มาเถอะ ให้เราฆ่าเขาเสีย แล้วมรดกนั้นจะตกอยู่กับเรา'

⁸ They took him, killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.

⁸เขาจึงพากันจับบุตรนั้นฆ่าเสีย และเอาศพทิ้งไว้นอกสวน

⁹ What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.

⁹เหตุฉะนั้น เจ้าของสวนจะทำประการใด ท่านก็จะมาฆ่าคนเช่าสวนเหล่านั้นเสีย แล้วจะเอาสวนองุ่นนั้นให้ผู้อื่นเช่า

¹⁰ Haven’t you even read this Scripture: ‘The stone which the builders rejected, the same was made the head of the corner.

¹⁰ท่านทั้งหลายอ่านพระคัมภีร์ตอนนี้แล้วมิใช่หรือซึ่งว่า `ศิลาซึ่งช่างก่อได้ปฏิเสธเสีย ได้กลับกลายเป็นศิลามุมเอกแล้ว

¹¹ This was from the Lord, it is marvelous in our eyes’?” Psalm 118:22-23

¹¹การนี้เป็นมาจากองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า เป็นการมหัศจรรย์ประจักษ์แก่ตาเรา'"

¹²They tried to seize him, but they feared the multitude; for they perceived that he spoke the parable against them. They left him, and went away.

¹²ฝ่ายเขาจึงอยากจะจับพระองค์ แต่ว่าเขากลัวประชาชน ด้วยเขารู้อยู่ว่า พระองค์ได้ตรัสคำอุปมานี้กระทบพวกเขาเอง แล้วเขาก็ไปจากพระองค์

¹³They sent some of the Pharisees and of the Herodians to him, that they might trap him with words.

¹³เขาจึงใช้บางคนในพวกฟาริสีและพวกเฮโรดไปหาพระองค์ เพื่อจะคอยจับความผิดในพระดำรัสของพระองค์

¹⁴When they had come, they asked him, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and don’t defer to anyone; for you aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?

¹⁴ครั้นมาถึงแล้วก็ทูลพระองค์ว่า "อาจารย์เจ้าข้า ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายทราบอยู่ว่า ท่านเป็นคนซื่อสัตย์และมิได้เอาใจผู้ใด เพราะท่านมิได้เห็นแก่หน้าผู้ใด แต่สั่งสอนทางของพระเจ้าจริงๆ การที่จะส่งส่วยให้แก่ซีซาร์นั้นถูกต้องตามพระราชบัญญัติหรือไม่

¹⁵Shall we give, or shall we not give?” But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, “Why do you test me? Bring me a denarius, that I may see it.”

¹⁵เราจะส่งดีหรือไม่ส่งดี" แต่พระองค์ทรงทราบอุบายของเขาจึงตรัสแก่เขาว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายมาทดลองเราทำไม จงเอาเงินตราเหรียญหนึ่งมาให้เราดู"

¹⁶They brought it. He said to them, “Whose is this image and inscription?” They said to him, “Caesar’s.”

¹⁶เขาก็เอามาให้ พระองค์จึงตรัสถามเขาว่า "รูปและคำจารึกนี้เป็นของใคร" เขาทูลตอบพระองค์ว่า "ของซีซาร์"

¹⁷Jesus answered them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” They marveled greatly at him.

¹⁷พระเยซูจึงตรัสแก่เขาว่า "ของของซีซาร์ จงถวายแก่ซีซาร์ และของของพระเจ้า จงถวายแด่พระเจ้า" ฝ่ายเขาก็ประหลาดใจในพระองค์

¹⁸There came to him Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection. They asked him, saying,

¹⁸มีพวกสะดูสีมาหาพระองค์ พวกนี้เป็นผู้สอนว่าการฟื้นขึ้นมาจากความตายนั้นไม่มี เขาทูลถามพระองค์ว่า

¹⁹“Teacher, Moses wrote to us, ‘If a man’s brother dies, and leaves a wife behind him, and leaves no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up offspring for his brother.’

¹⁹"อาจารย์เจ้าข้า โมเสสได้เขียนสั่งข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายไว้ว่า `ถ้าชายผู้ใดตายและภรรยายังอยู่ แต่ไม่มีบุตร ก็ให้น้องชายรับพี่สะใภ้นั้นไว้เป็นภรรยาของตน เพื่อสืบเชื้อสายของพี่ชายไว้'

²⁰There were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and dying left no offspring.

²⁰ยังมีพี่น้องผู้ชายเจ็ดคน พี่หัวปีมีภรรยาแล้วตาย ไม่มีเชื้อสาย

²¹The second took her, and died, leaving no children behind him. The third likewise;

²¹น้องที่หนึ่งจึงรับหญิงนั้นมาเป็นภรรยา แล้วก็ตาย ยังไม่มีเชื้อสาย และน้องที่สองที่สามก็ทำเช่นกัน

²²and the seven took her and left no children. Last of all the woman also died.

²²พี่น้องทั้งเจ็ดคนนี้ก็ได้รับผู้หญิงนั้นไว้เป็นภรรยาและไม่มีเชื้อสาย ที่สุดผู้หญิงนั้นก็ตายด้วย

²³In the resurrection, when they rise, whose wife will she be of them? For the seven had her as a wife.”

²³เหตุฉะนั้น ในวันที่จะฟื้นขึ้นมาจากความตาย เมื่อเขาทั้งเจ็ดเป็นขึ้นมาแล้ว หญิงนั้นจะเป็นภรรยาของใครด้วยนางได้เป็นภรรยาของชายทั้งเจ็ดแล้ว"

²⁴Jesus answered them, “Isn’t this because you are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God?

²⁴พระเยซูจึงตรัสตอบเขาว่า "พวกท่านคิดผิดเสียแล้ว เพราะท่านทั้งหลายไม่รู้พระคัมภีร์หรือฤทธิ์เดชของพระเจ้า

²⁵ For when they will rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

²⁵เพราะเมื่อมนุษย์จะฟื้นขึ้นมาจากความตายนั้น เขาจะไม่มีการสมรส หรือยกให้เป็นสามีภรรยากันอีก แต่จะเป็นเหมือนทูตสวรรค์ในฟ้าสวรรค์

²⁶ But about the dead, that they are raised; haven’t you read in the book of Moses, about the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’ Exodus 3:6 ?

²⁶และเรื่องคนซึ่งตายแล้วที่เขาจะถูกชุบให้เป็นขึ้นอีกนั้น ท่านทั้งหลายยังไม่ได้อ่านคัมภีร์ของโมเสสตอนเรื่องพุ่มไม้หรือ ซึ่งพระเจ้าได้ตรัสไว้กับโมเสสว่า `เราเป็นพระเจ้าของอับราฮัม เป็นพระเจ้าของอิสอัค และเป็นพระเจ้าของยาโคบ'

²⁷ He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are therefore badly mistaken.”

²⁷พระองค์มิได้เป็นพระเจ้าของคนตาย แต่ทรงเป็นพระเจ้าของคนเป็น ท่านทั้งหลายจึงผิดมากทีเดียว"

²⁸One of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together. Knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the greatest of all?”

²⁸มีธรรมาจารย์คนหนึ่ง เมื่อมาถึงได้ยินเขาไล่เลียงกันและเห็นว่าพระองค์ทรงตอบเขาได้ดี จึงทูลถามพระองค์ว่า "พระบัญญัติข้อใดเป็นเอกเป็นใหญ่กว่าบัญญัติทั้งปวง"

²⁹Jesus answered, “The greatest is, ‘Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one:

²⁹พระเยซูจึงตรัสตอบคนนั้นว่า "พระบัญญัติซึ่งเป็นเอกเป็นใหญ่กว่าบัญญัติทั้งปวงนั้นคือว่า `โอ คนอิสราเอล จงฟังเถิด องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าของเราทั้งหลายเป็นองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าองค์เดียว

³⁰ you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ Deuteronomy 6:4-5 This is the first commandment.

³⁰และพวกท่านจงรักองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าผู้เป็นพระเจ้าของท่าน ด้วยสุดจิตสุดใจของท่าน ด้วยสิ้นสุดความคิด และด้วยสิ้นสุดกำลังของท่าน' นี่เป็นพระบัญญัติที่เป็นเอกเป็นใหญ่

³¹ The second is like this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Leviticus 19:18 There is no other commandment greater than these.”

³¹และพระบัญญัติที่สองนั้นก็เป็นเช่นกันคือ `จงรักเพื่อนบ้านเหมือนรักตนเอง' พระบัญญัติอื่นที่ใหญ่กว่าพระบัญญัติทั้งสองนี้ไม่มี"

³²The scribe said to him, “Truly, teacher, you have said well that he is one, and there is none other but he,

³²ฝ่ายธรรมาจารย์คนนั้นทูลพระองค์ว่า "ดีแล้วอาจารย์เจ้าข้า ท่านกล่าวถูกจริงว่าพระเจ้ามีแต่พระองค์เดียว และนอกจากพระองค์แล้วพระเจ้าอื่นไม่มีเลย

³³and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

³³และซึ่งจะรักพระองค์ด้วยสุดใจ สุดความเข้าใจ สุดจิตและสิ้นสุดกำลัง และรักเพื่อนบ้านเหมือนรักตนเอง ก็ประเสริฐกว่าเครื่องเผาบูชาและเครื่องสัตวบูชาทั้งสิ้น"

³⁴When Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the Kingdom of God.” No one dared ask him any question after that.

³⁴เมื่อพระเยซูทรงเห็นแล้วว่าคนนั้นพูดโดยใช้ความคิด จึงตรัสแก่เขาว่า "ท่านไม่ไกลจากอาณาจักรของพระเจ้า" ตั้งแต่นั้นไปไม่มีใครกล้าถามพระองค์ต่อไปอีก

³⁵Jesus responded, as he taught in the temple, “How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?

³⁵เมื่อพระเยซูทรงสั่งสอนอยู่ในพระวิหารได้ตรัสถามว่า "ที่พวกธรรมาจารย์ว่าพระคริสต์เป็นเชื้อสายของดาวิดนั้นเป็นได้อย่างไร

³⁶ For David himself said in the Holy Spirit, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’ Psalm 110:1

³⁶ด้วยว่าดาวิดเองทรงกล่าวโดยเดชพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ว่า `องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสกับองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของข้าพเจ้าว่า จงนั่งที่ขวามือของเรา จนกว่าเราจะกระทำให้ศัตรูของท่านเป็นแท่นรองเท้าของท่าน'

³⁷ Therefore David himself calls him Lord, so how can he be his son?” The common people heard him gladly.

³⁷ดาวิดเองยังได้เรียกท่านว่า เป็นองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ท่านจะเป็นเพียงเชื้อสายของดาวิดอย่างไรได้" ฝ่ายประชาชนทั่วไปฟังพระองค์ด้วยความยินดี

³⁸In his teaching he said to them, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk in long robes, and to get greetings in the marketplaces,

³⁸พระเยซูตรัสสอนเขาในคำสอนของพระองค์ว่า "จงระวังพวกธรรมาจารย์ให้ดี ผู้ที่ชอบสวมเสื้อยาวเดินไปมา และชอบให้คนคำนับกลางตลาด

³⁹ and the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts:

³⁹ชอบนั่งที่สูงในธรรมศาลาและที่อันมีเกียรติในการเลี้ยง

⁴⁰ those who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”

⁴⁰เขามักริบเอาเรือนของหญิงม่าย และแสร้งอธิษฐานเสียยืดยาว เขาทั้งหลายจะต้องมีโทษหนักยิ่งขึ้น"

⁴¹Jesus sat down opposite the treasury, and saw how the multitude cast money into the treasury. Many who were rich cast in much.

⁴¹พระเยซูได้เสด็จประทับตรงหน้าตู้เก็บเงินถวาย ทรงทอดพระเนตรสังเกตประชาชนเอาเงินมาใส่ไว้ในตู้นั้น และคนมั่งมีหลายคนเอาเงินมากมาใส่ในที่นั้น

⁴²A poor widow came, and she cast in two small brass coins, literally, lepta (or widow’s mites). Lepta are very small brass coins worth half a quadrans each, which is a quarter of the copper assarion. Lepta are worth less than 1% of an agricultural worker’s daily wages. which equal a quadrans coin. A quadrans is a coin worth about 1/64 of a denarius. A denarius is about one day’s wages for an agricultural laborer.

⁴²มีหญิงม่ายคนหนึ่งเป็นคนจนเอาเหรียญทองแดงสองอัน มีค่าประมาณสลึงหนึ่งมาใส่ไว้

⁴³He called his disciples to himself, and said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, this poor widow gave more than all those who are giving into the treasury,

⁴³พระองค์จึงทรงเรียกเหล่าสาวกของพระองค์มาตรัสแก่เขาว่า "เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า หญิงม่ายจนคนนี้ได้ใส่ไว้ในตู้เก็บเงินถวายมากกว่าคนทั้งปวงที่ใส่ไว้นั้น

⁴⁴ for they all gave out of their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, gave all that she had to live on.”

⁴⁴เพราะว่าคนทั้งปวงนั้นได้เอาเงินเหลือใช้ของเขามาใส่ไว้ แต่ผู้หญิงนี้ขัดสนที่สุด ยังได้เอาเงินที่มีอยู่สำหรับเลี้ยงชีวิตของตนมาใส่จนหมด"
