Wolof: New Testament

Young`s Literal Translation

1 Thessalonians

4

1 Léegi nag bokk yi, jot ngeen ci nun, nan ngeen war a dunde ba neex Yàlla, te moom ngeen di def. Waaye ci turu Boroom bi Yeesu nu ngi leen di ñaan ak a dénk, ngeen gën koo feddali.
1As to the rest, then, brethren, we request you, and call upon you in the Lord Jesus, as ye did receive from us how it behoveth you to walk and to please God, that ye may abound the more,
2 Ndaxte xam ngeen ndigal, yi nu leen jox ci wàllu Yeesu Boroom bi.
2for ye have known what commands we gave you through the Lord Jesus,
3 Lii nag mooy coobareg Yàlla: ngeen sell, maanaam ngeen moytu njaaloo;
3for this is the will of God — your sanctification; that ye abstain from the whoredom,
4 ngeen noot seeni cér ci cell ak tedd,
4that each of you know his own vessel to possess in sanctification and honour,
5 te xemmem bañ leen a jiital, ni xeeti àddina yi xamul Yàlla.
5not in the affection of desire, as also the nations that were not knowing God,
6that no one go beyond and defraud in the matter his brother, because an avenger [is] the Lord of all these, as also we spake before to you and testified,
7 Ndaxte Yàlla woo na nu, nu dund ci cell, waaye du ci sobe.
7for God did not call us on uncleanness, but in sanctification;
8 Ku tanqamlu wax jii nag, defoo ko nit, Yàlla nga ko def, moom mi leen di jox Xel mu Sell mi.
8he, therefore, who is despising — doth not despise man, but God, who also did give His Holy Spirit to us.
9 Ci lu jëm ci bëggante ci seen biir, matul nu leen di bind dara, ndaxte Yàlla def na ci seen xol, ngeen bëggante.
9And concerning the brotherly love, ye have no need of [my] writing to you, for ye yourselves are God-taught to love one another,
10 Te moom ngeen di def ci bokk yépp, yi ci diiwaanu Maseduwan. Waaye bokk yi, maa ngi leen di xiirtal, ngeen gën cee sax.
10for ye do it also to all the brethren who [are] in all Macedonia; and we call upon you, brethren, to abound still more,
11 Fullawooleen a dund ci jàmm, di topptoo seen mbiri bopp tey lekk seen ñaq, ni nu leen ko sante woon.
11and to study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we did command you,
12 Noonu dingeen dund dund gu jekk ci kanamu waa àddina, te it dungeen soxlaal kenn dara.
12that ye may walk becomingly unto those without, and may have lack of nothing.
13 Ci mbirum ñi nelaw nag bokk yi, bëgguñu ngeen réere mbir, ba tiis ni aji gëmul, yi amul benn yaakaar.
13And I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, that ye may not sorrow, as also the rest who have not hope,
14 Ndegam gëm nanu ne, Yeesu dee na te dekki, noonu it Yàlla dina indaale ak Yeesu ñépp ñi ko gëm te nelaw.
14for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also God those asleep through Jesus he will bring with him,
15 Nu ngi leen di wax lii tukkee ci Boroom bi: nun ñiy dund te des fi, ba kera Boroom biy dellusi, dunu jiitu ñi nelaw.
15for this to you we say in the word of the Lord, that we who are living — who do remain over to the presence of the Lord — may not precede those asleep,
16 Ndaxte ndigal lu jamp dina jib, baatu kilifa ci malaaka yi dégtu, liitu Yàlla jolli, te Boroom bi moom ci boppam dina wàcce ca asamaan. Booba ñi gëm Kirist te dee dinañu jëkk a dekki;
16because the Lord himself, in a shout, in the voice of a chief-messenger, and in the trump of God, shall come down from heaven, and the dead in Christ shall rise first,
17 gannaaw loolu nun ñiy dund te des fi, dinañu ne fëyy ak ñoom jëm ci niir yi, taseji ak Boroom bi ci jaww ji. Te noonu dinanu nekk ak Boroom bi ba fàww.
17then we who are living, who are remaining over, together with them shall be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in air, and so always with the Lord we shall be;
18 Kon nag na ku nekk di dëfël sa xolu moroom ak kàddu yooyu.
18so, then, comfort ye one another in these words.
