¹經學家和法利賽人有禍了（可12:38~39；路20:45~46）那時，耶穌對群眾和他的門徒說：

¹Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to his disciples,

²“經學家和法利賽人坐在摩西的座位上，

²saying, “The scribes and the Pharisees sat on Moses’ seat.

³所以凡他們吩咐你們的，你們都要遵守，但不可效法他們的行為，因為他們只會說而不去作。

³ All things therefore whatever they tell you to observe, observe and do, but don’t do their works; for they say, and don’t do.

⁴他們把重擔捆起來，壓在人的肩頭上，但自己連一個指頭也不肯動。

⁴ For they bind heavy burdens that are grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not lift a finger to help them.

⁵他們所作的一切，都是要作給人看：他們把經文的匣子做大了，衣服的繸子做長了；

⁵ But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries phylacteries (tefillin in Hebrew) are small leather pouches that some Jewish men wear on their forehead and arm in prayer. They are used to carry a small scroll with some Scripture in it. See Deuteronomy 6:8. broad, enlarge the fringes or, tassels of their garments,

⁶他們喜歡筵席上的首位、會堂裡的高位；

⁶ and love the place of honor at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues,

⁷又喜歡人在市中心向他們問安，稱呼他們‘拉比’。

⁷ the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called ‘Rabbi, Rabbi’ by men.

⁸然而你們不要被人稱為‘拉比’，因為只有一位是你們的老師，你們都是弟兄。

⁸ But don’t you be called ‘Rabbi,’ for one is your teacher, the Christ, and all of you are brothers.

⁹不要稱呼地上的人為父，因為只有一位是你們的父，就是天父。

⁹ Call no man on the earth your father, for one is your Father, he who is in heaven.

¹⁰你們也不要被人稱為師傅，因為只有一位是你們的師傅，就是基督。

¹⁰ Neither be called masters, for one is your master, the Christ.

¹¹你們中間最大的，必作你們的僕人。

¹¹ But he who is greatest among you will be your servant.

¹²凡高抬自己的，必被降卑；凡自己謙卑的，必被升高。

¹² Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

¹³“虛偽的經學家和法利賽人哪，你們有禍了！你們在人面前關了天國的門，自己不進去，連正要進去的人，你們也不准他們進去。

¹³ “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and as a pretense you make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.

¹⁴（有些抄本有第14節：“虛偽的經學家和法利賽人哪，你們有禍了！你們吞沒了寡婦的房產，假裝作冗長的禱告，所以你們必受更重的刑罰。”）

¹⁴ “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the Kingdom of Heaven against men; for you don’t enter in yourselves, neither do you allow those who are entering in to enter. Some Greek manuscripts reverse the order of verses 13 and 14, and some omit verse 13, numbering verse 14 as 13.

¹⁵“虛偽的經學家和法利賽人哪，你們有禍了！你們走遍海洋陸地，要使一個人入教；當他入了教，你們卻使他淪為地獄之子，比你們更甚。

¹⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel around by sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much of a son of Gehenna or, Hell as yourselves.

¹⁶“你們這些瞎眼的嚮導有禍了！你們說：‘凡指著聖所而起的誓，是沒有用的；但指著聖所的金子而起的誓，就必須遵守。’

¹⁶ “Woe to you, you blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obligated.’

¹⁷你們這些瞎眼的愚昧人哪，到底是金子大，還是使金子成聖的聖所大呢？

¹⁷ You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifies the gold?

¹⁸你們又說：‘凡指著祭壇所起的誓，是沒有用的；但指著壇上的祭物所起的誓，就必須遵守。’

¹⁸ ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obligated?’

¹⁹瞎眼的人哪！到底是祭物大，還是使祭物成聖的祭壇大呢？

¹⁹ You blind fools! For which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifies the gift?

²⁰所以，凡指著祭壇起誓的，他就是指著祭壇和壇上的一切起誓；

²⁰ He therefore who swears by the altar, swears by it, and by everything on it.

²¹指著聖所起誓的，就是指著聖所和住在那裡的　神起誓；

²¹ He who swears by the temple, swears by it, and by him who was living NU reads “lives” in it.

²²指著天起誓的，就是指著　神的寶座和坐在寶座上的起誓。

²² He who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God, and by him who sits on it.

²³“虛偽的經學家和法利賽人哪，你們有禍了！你們把薄荷、茴香、芹菜，獻上十分之一，卻忽略律法上更重要的，就如正義、憐憫和信實；這些更重要的是你們應當作的，但其他的也不可忽略。

²³ “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, cumin is an aromatic seed from Cuminum cyminum, resembling caraway in flavor and appearance. It is used as a spice. and have left undone the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faith. But you ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.

²⁴你們這些瞎眼的嚮導啊，你們把蚊蟲濾出來，卻把駱駝吞下去。

²⁴ You blind guides, who strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel!

²⁵“虛偽的經學家和法利賽人哪，你們有禍了！你們洗淨杯盤的外面，裡面卻裝滿了搶奪和放蕩。

²⁵ “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and unrighteousness. TR reads “self-indulgence” instead of “unrighteousness”

²⁶瞎眼的法利賽人哪，先把杯和盤的裡面洗淨，好使外面也可以乾淨。

²⁶ You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the platter, that its outside may become clean also.

²⁷“虛偽的經學家和法利賽人哪，你們有禍了！你們好像粉飾了的墳墓，外面好看，裡面卻裝滿了死人的骨頭和各樣的污穢；

²⁷ “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitened tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.

²⁸照樣，你們外面看來像義人，裡面卻充塞著虛偽和不法。

²⁸ Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

²⁹“虛偽的經學家和法利賽人哪，你們有禍了！你們建造先知的墓，修飾義人的碑，

²⁹ “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and decorate the tombs of the righteous,

³⁰並且說：‘我們若活在我們祖先的時代，決不會與他們一同流先知的血。’

³⁰ and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we wouldn’t have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’

³¹這樣，你們就指證自己是殺害先知的人的子孫了。

³¹ Therefore you testify to yourselves that you are children of those who killed the prophets.

³²那麼，去完成你們祖先的罪孽吧！

³² Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers.

³³你們這些蛇，這些毒蛇所生的啊，你們怎能逃脫地獄的刑罰呢？

³³ You serpents, you offspring of vipers, how will you escape the judgment of Gehenna or, Hell ?

³⁴因此，我差派先知、智慧人和經學家到你們那裡；有些你們要殺害又釘在十字架上，有些你們要在會堂裡鞭打，從一個城趕逐到另一個城。

³⁴ Therefore behold, I send to you prophets, wise men, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify; and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city;

³⁵所以，從義人亞伯的血起，到巴拉加的兒子撒迦利亞的血為止，他就是你們在聖所和祭壇中間所殺的，所有義人在地上所流的血，都要歸在你們身上。

³⁵ that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom you killed between the sanctuary and the altar.

³⁶我實在告訴你們，這一切都必臨到這個世代。

³⁶ Most certainly I tell you, all these things will come upon this generation.

³⁷為耶路撒冷歎息（參路13:34~35）“耶路撒冷，耶路撒冷啊，你殺害先知，又用石頭把奉派到你們那裡的人打死。我多次想招聚你的兒女，好像母雞招聚小雞到翅膀底下，只是你們不願意。

³⁷ “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!

³⁸你看，你們的家必成為荒場，留給你們。

³⁸ Behold, your house is left to you desolate.

³⁹我告訴你們，從今以後，你們一定見不到我，直等到你們說：‘奉主名來的，是應當稱頌的。’”

³⁹ For I tell you, you will not see me from now on, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’” Psalm 118:26
