¹人民沿途埋怨，惹怒耶和華人民發怨言，惡聲達到耶和華的耳中；耶和華聽見了，就發烈怒；耶和華的火就在他們中間焚燒，燒毀了營地的邊界。

¹The people were complaining in the ears of Yahweh. When Yahweh heard it, his anger was kindled; and Yahweh’s fire burnt among them, and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.

²人民向摩西呼求，摩西懇求耶和華，火就熄了，

²The people cried to Moses; and Moses prayed to Yahweh, and the fire abated.

³就稱那地方作他備拉，因為耶和華的火曾在他們中間焚燒。

³The name of that place was called Taberah Taberah means “burning” , because Yahweh’s fire burnt among them.

⁴他們中間的閒雜人起了貪慾，甚至連以色列人也哭著說：“誰給我們肉吃呢？

⁴The mixed multitude that was among them lusted exceedingly: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, “Who will give us flesh to eat?

⁵我們記得在埃及的時候，可以不花錢吃魚，還有黃瓜、西瓜、韭菜、蔥和蒜。

⁵We remember the fish, which we ate in Egypt for nothing; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic;

⁶現在我們的心都枯乾了；除了這嗎哪以外，在我們眼前，甚麼都沒有。”

⁶but now we have lost our appetite. There is nothing at all except this manna to look at.”

⁷這嗎哪仿佛芫荽子，又好像珍珠。

⁷The manna was like coriander seed, and its appearance like the appearance of bdellium.

⁸人民走來走去，把嗎哪拾起來，或用磨磨碎，或用臼搗碎，或用鍋煮，或做成餅，它的滋味好像油餅的滋味。

⁸The people went around, gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in mortars, and boiled it in pots, and made cakes of it. Its taste was like the taste of fresh oil.

⁹夜間露水降在營上的時候，嗎哪也隨著降下來。

⁹When the dew fell on the camp in the night, the manna fell on it.

¹⁰摩西聽見人民都在各人的帳棚門口哀哭，耶和華就大發烈怒，摩西也不高興。

¹⁰Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, every man at the door of his tent; and the anger of Yahweh was kindled greatly; and Moses was displeased.

¹¹摩西對耶和華說：“你為甚麼苦待你的僕人，為甚麼我沒有在你面前蒙恩呢？竟把管理這人民的重擔全放在我身上呢？

¹¹Moses said to Yahweh, “Why have you treated with your servant so badly? Why haven’t I found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people on me?

¹²這人民豈是我懷的胎，豈是我生的嗎？你竟對我說：‘把他們抱在懷裡，像養育之父抱吃奶的孩子，直抱到你起誓應許給他們們列祖的地方去。’

¹²Have I conceived all this people? Have I brought them forth, that you should tell me, ‘Carry them in your bosom, as a nurse carries a nursing infant, to the land which you swore to their fathers?’

¹³我從哪裡得肉給這人民吃呢？因為他們都向我哭著說：‘你給我們肉吃吧！’

¹³Where could I get meat to give to all this people? For they weep to me, saying, ‘Give us meat, that we may eat.’

¹⁴我不能獨自擔當管理這人民的責任，因為實在太重了。

¹⁴I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.

¹⁵你既然這樣待我，如果我在你面前蒙恩，求你把我殺了，免得我看見自己的苦楚。”

¹⁵If you treat me this way, please kill me right now, if I have found favor in your sight; and don’t let me see my wretchedness.”

¹⁶耶和華叫摩西選立七十長老耶和華對摩西說：“你要從以色列的長老中為我召聚七十個人，就是你認識的民間的長老和官長，領他們到會幕那裡，叫他們與你一同站在那裡。

¹⁶Yahweh said to Moses, “Gather to me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them to the Tent of Meeting, that they may stand there with you.

¹⁷我要在那裡降臨，與你說話，也要把在你身上的靈，分給他們，他們就與你一同擔當管理人民的責任，免得你獨自擔當。

¹⁷I will come down and talk with you there. I will take of the Spirit which is on you, and will put it on them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you not bear it yourself alone.

¹⁸你要對人民說：‘你們應當自潔，預備明天可以吃肉，因為你們哭著向耶和華說：“誰給我們肉吃呢？”所以耶和華必給你們肉吃。

¹⁸“Say to the people, ‘Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and you will eat flesh; for you have wept in the ears of Yahweh, saying, “Who will give us flesh to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore Yahweh will give you flesh, and you will eat.

¹⁹你們不是吃一天兩天，不是吃五天十天，也不是吃二十天，

¹⁹You will not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days,

²⁰而是吃一個整月，直到肉從你們的鼻孔裡噴出來，成為你們厭惡的東西；因為你們輕視了住在你們中間的耶和華，在他面前哭著說：“我們為甚麼出埃及呢？”’”

²⁰but a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it is loathsome to you; because that you have rejected Yahweh who is among you, and have wept before him, saying, “Why did we come out of Egypt?”’”

²¹摩西說：“這與我同住的人，能行的男人就有六十萬，你還說：‘我要給他們肉吃，使他們可以吃一個整月。’

²¹Moses said, “The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand men on foot; and you have said, ‘I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.’

²²難道把羊群和牛群都給他們宰了，就夠他們吃嗎？或是把海裡所有的魚都給他們聚了來，就夠他們吃嗎？”

²²Shall flocks and herds be slaughtered for them, to be sufficient for them? Shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to be sufficient for them?”

²³耶和華對摩西說：“耶和華的手臂縮短了嗎？現在你要看看我的話應驗不應驗。”

²³Yahweh said to Moses, “Has Yahweh’s hand grown short? Now you will see whether my word will happen to you or not.”

²⁴於是摩西出來，把耶和華的話告訴人民，又從民間的長老中召聚了七十個人來，使他們站在會幕的周圍。

²⁴Moses went out, and told the people the words of Yahweh; and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them around the Tent.

²⁵耶和華在雲中降臨，對摩西說話，把摩西身上的靈，分給那七十個長老；靈停在他們身上的時候，他們就說預言，以後卻沒有再說。

²⁵Yahweh came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was on him, and put it on the seventy elders: and it happened that when the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.

²⁶那時還有兩個人留在營裡；一個名叫伊利達，一個名叫米達；靈也停在他們身上。他們原是在被錄取的人中，卻沒有到會幕那裡去；他們就在營裡說預言。

²⁶But two men remained in the camp. The name of one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the Spirit rested on them; and they were of those who were written, but had not gone out to the Tent; and they prophesied in the camp.

²⁷有個少年人跑來，告訴摩西：“伊利達和米達在營中說預言。”

²⁷A young man ran, and told Moses, and said, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp!”

²⁸摩西的侍從，嫩的兒子約書亞，就是摩西所揀選的，回答說：“我主，摩西，請你制止他們。”

²⁸Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered, “My lord Moses, forbid them!”

²⁹摩西對他說：“你為我的緣故嫉妒嗎？但願耶和華的人民都是先知，但願耶和華把他的靈降在他們身上。”

²⁹Moses said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all Yahweh’s people were prophets, that Yahweh would put his Spirit on them!”

³⁰於是摩西和以色列的長老，都回營去了。

³⁰Moses went into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.

³¹有風從耶和華那裡吹起，把鵪鶉由海面颳來，散落在營地；鵪鶉在營的四周，這邊約有一天的路程，那邊約有一天的路程，離地面約有一公尺。

³¹A wind from Yahweh went out and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, about a day’s journey on this side, and a day’s journey on the other side, around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the earth.

³²耶和華降下鵪鶉人民起來，那一天終日終夜，並次日一整天，都在捕捉鵪鶉，最少的也捕捉了約二千公升；他們都擺在營地的四周。

³²The people rose up all that day, and all the night, and all the next day, and gathered the quails. He who gathered least gathered ten homers; 1 homer is about 220 litres or 6 bushels and they spread them all abroad for themselves around the camp.

³³肉在他們牙齒之間，還沒有嚼爛，耶和華的怒氣就向人民發作，用極重的災禍擊打他們。

³³While the flesh was yet between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of Yahweh was kindled against the people, and Yahweh struck the people with a very great plague.

³⁴於是那地方名叫基博羅．哈他瓦，因為他們在那裡埋葬起了貪慾的人。

³⁴The name of that place was called Kibroth Hattaavah, Kibroth Hattaavah means “graves of lust.” because there they buried the people who lusted.

³⁵人民從基博羅．哈他瓦起行，到哈洗錄去，就住在哈洗錄。

³⁵From Kibroth Hattaavah the people traveled to Hazeroth; and they stayed at Hazeroth.
