¹人的善恶对　神无所损益以利户回答说：

¹Elihu spake moreover, and said,

²“你说：‘我在　神面前更显为义’，你自以为这话有理吗？

²Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?

³你还说：‘你有什么益处呢？我不犯罪有什么好处？’

³For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?

⁴我要用言语回答你，和与你在一起的朋友。

⁴I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.

⁵你要往天仰望观看，细看高过你的云天。

⁵Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.

⁶你若犯罪，你能使　神受害吗？你的过犯若增多，你又能使他受损吗？

⁶If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?

⁷你若为人正义，你能给他什么呢？他从你手里能领受什么呢？

⁷If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?

⁸你的邪恶只能害像你的人，你的公义也只能叫世人得益。

⁸Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.

⁹他们因多受欺压而呼叫，因受强权者的压制而呼求。

⁹By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.

¹⁰却没有说：‘　神我的创造主在哪里呢？他使人在夜间歌唱。

¹⁰But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;

¹¹他教导我们过于教导地上的走兽，使我们有智慧胜于空中的飞鸟。’

¹¹Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?

¹²因为恶人骄傲的缘故，他们在那里呼求，　神却不回答。

¹²There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.

¹³真的，　神必不垂听虚妄的呼求，全能者也必不留意，

¹³Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.

¹⁴更何况你说你不得见他。你的案件在他面前，你忍耐地等候他吧！

¹⁴Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.

¹⁵但现在因为他还没有在忿怒中降罚，也不大理会人的过犯；

¹⁵But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:

¹⁶所以约伯开口说空话，多说无知识的话。”

¹⁶Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
