1经学家和法利赛人有祸了（可12:38-39；路20:45-46）
1Then Jesus spake to the multitudes, and to his disciples,
2“经学家和法利赛人坐在摩西的座位上，
2saying, `On the seat of Moses sat down the scribes and the Pharisees;
3所以凡他们吩咐你们的，你们都要遵守，但不可效法他们的行为，因为他们只会说而不去作。
3all, then, as much as they may say to you to observe, observe and do, but according to their works do not, for they say, and do not;
4他们把重担捆起来，压在人的肩头上，但自己连一个指头也不肯动。
4for they bind together burdens heavy and grievous to be borne, and lay upon the shoulders of men, but with their finger they will not move them.
5他们所作的一切，都是要作给人看：他们把经文的匣子做大了，衣服的繸子做长了；
5`And all their works they do to be seen by men, and they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the fringes of their garments,
6他们喜欢筵席上的首位、会堂里的高位；
6they love also the chief couches in the supper, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
7又喜欢人在市中心向他们问安，称呼他们‘拉比’。
7and the salutations in the market-places, and to be called by men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
8然而你们不要被人称为‘拉比’，因为只有一位是你们的老师，你们都是弟兄。
8`And ye — ye may not be called Rabbi, for one is your director — the Christ, and all ye are brethren;
9不要称呼地上的人为父，因为只有一位是你们的父，就是天父。
9and ye may not call [any] your father on the earth, for one is your Father, who is in the heavens,
10你们也不要被人称为师傅，因为只有一位是你们的师傅，就是基督。
10nor may ye be called directors, for one is your director — the Christ.
11你们中间最大的，必作你们的仆人。
11And the greater of you shall be your ministrant,
12凡高抬自己的，必被降卑；凡自己谦卑的，必被升高。
12and whoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled, and whoever shall humble himself shall be exalted.
13“虚伪的经学家和法利赛人哪，你们有祸了！你们在人面前关了天国的门，自己不进去，连正要进去的人，你们也不准他们进去。
13`Wo to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye shut up the reign of the heavens before men, for ye do not go in, nor those going in do ye suffer to enter.
14（有些抄本有第14节：“虚伪的经学家和法利赛人哪，你们有祸了！你们吞没了寡妇的房产，假装作冗长的祷告，所以你们必受更重的刑罚。”）
14`Wo to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye eat up the houses of the widows, and for a pretence make long prayers, because of this ye shall receive more abundant judgment.
15“虚伪的经学家和法利赛人哪，你们有祸了！你们走遍海洋陆地，要使一个人入教；当他入了教，你们却使他沦为地狱之子，比你们更甚。
15`Wo to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye go round the sea and the dry land to make one proselyte, and whenever it may happen — ye make him a son of gehenna twofold more than yourselves.
16“你们这些瞎眼的向导有祸了！你们说：‘凡指着圣所而起的誓，是没有用的；但指着圣所的金子而起的誓，就必须遵守。’
16`Wo to you, blind guides, who are saying, Whoever may swear by the sanctuary, it is nothing, but whoever may swear by the gold of the sanctuary — is debtor!
17你们这些瞎眼的愚昧人哪，到底是金子大，还是使金子成圣的圣所大呢？
17Fools and blind! for which [is] greater, the gold, or the sanctuary that is sanctifying the gold?
18你们又说：‘凡指着祭坛所起的誓，是没有用的；但指着坛上的祭物所起的誓，就必须遵守。’
18`And, whoever may swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever may swear by the gift that is upon it — is debtor!
19瞎眼的人哪！到底是祭物大，还是使祭物成圣的祭坛大呢？
19Fools and blind! for which [is] greater, the gift, or the altar that is sanctifying the gift?
20所以，凡指着祭坛起誓的，他就是指着祭坛和坛上的一切起誓；
20`He therefore who did swear by the altar, doth swear by it, and by all things on it;
21指着圣所起誓的，就是指着圣所和住在那里的 神起誓；
21and he who did swear by the sanctuary, doth swear by it, and by Him who is dwelling in it;
22指着天起誓的，就是指着 神的宝座和坐在宝座上的起誓。
22and he who did swear by the heaven, doth swear by the throne of God, and by Him who is sitting upon it.
23“虚伪的经学家和法利赛人哪，你们有祸了！你们把薄荷、茴香、芹菜，献上十分之一，却忽略律法上更重要的，就如正义、怜悯和信实；这些更重要的是你们应当作的，但其他的也不可忽略。
23`Wo to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye give tithe of the mint, and the dill, and the cumin, and did neglect the weightier things of the Law — the judgment, and the kindness, and the faith; these it behoved [you] to do, and those not to neglect.
24你们这些瞎眼的向导啊，你们把蚊虫滤出来，却把骆驼吞下去。
24`Blind guides! who are straining out the gnat, and the camel are swallowing.
25“虚伪的经学家和法利赛人哪，你们有祸了！你们洗净杯盘的外面，里面却装满了抢夺和放荡。
25`Wo to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye make clean the outside of the cup and the plate, and within they are full of rapine and incontinence.
26瞎眼的法利赛人哪，先把杯和盘的里面洗净，好使外面也可以干净。
26`Blind Pharisee! cleanse first the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside of them also may become clean.
27“虚伪的经学家和法利赛人哪，你们有祸了！你们好像粉饰了的坟墓，外面好看，里面却装满了死人的骨头和各样的污秽；
27`Wo to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye are like to whitewashed sepulchres, which outwardly indeed do appear beautiful, and within are full of bones of dead men, and of all uncleanness;
28照样，你们外面看来像义人，里面却充塞着虚伪和不法。
28so also ye outwardly indeed do appear to men righteous, and within ye are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
29“虚伪的经学家和法利赛人哪，你们有祸了！你们建造先知的墓，修饰义人的碑，
29`Wo to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and adorn the tombs of the righteous,
30并且说：‘我们若活在我们祖先的时代，决不会与他们一同流先知的血。’
30and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
31这样，你们就指证自己是杀害先知的人的子孙了。
31So that ye testify to yourselves, that ye are sons of them who did murder the prophets;
32那么，去完成你们祖先的罪孽吧！
32and ye — ye fill up the measure of your fathers.
33你们这些蛇，这些毒蛇所生的啊，你们怎能逃脱地狱的刑罚呢？
33`Serpents! brood of vipers! how may ye escape from the judgment of the gehenna?
34因此，我差派先知、智慧人和经学家到你们那里；有些你们要杀害又钉在十字架上，有些你们要在会堂里鞭打，从一个城赶逐到另一个城。
34`Because of this, lo, I send to you prophets, and wise men, and scribes, and of them ye will kill and crucify, and of them ye will scourge in your synagogues, and will pursue from city to city;
35所以，从义人亚伯的血起，到巴拉加的儿子撒迦利亚的血为止，他就是你们在圣所和祭坛中间所杀的，所有义人在地上所流的血，都要归在你们身上。
35that on you may come all the righteous blood being poured out on the earth from the blood of Abel the righteous, unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the sanctuary and the altar:
36我实在告诉你们，这一切都必临到这个世代。
36verily I say to you, all these things shall come upon this generation.
37为耶路撒冷叹息（参路13:34-35）“耶路撒冷，耶路撒冷啊，你杀害先知，又用石头把奉派到你们那里的人打死。我多次想招聚你的儿女，好像母鸡招聚小鸡到翅膀底下，只是你们不愿意。
37`Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that art killing the prophets, and stoning those sent unto thee, how often did I will to gather thy children together, as a hen doth gather her own chickens under the wings, and ye did not will.
38你看，你们的家必成为荒场，留给你们。
38Lo, left desolate to you is your house;
39我告诉你们，从今以后，你们一定见不到我，直等到你们说：‘奉主名来的，是应当称颂的。’”
39for I say to you, ye may not see me henceforth, till ye may say, Blessed [is] he who is coming in the name of the Lord.`
