1Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
1大衛的詩，交給詩班長，是大衛和拔示巴同房以後，及先知拿單來見他以後作的。（本篇細字標題在《馬索拉抄本》為51:1~2） 神啊！求你按著你的慈愛恩待我，照著你豐盛的憐憫塗抹我的過犯。
2Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
2求你徹底洗淨我的罪孽，潔除我的罪。
3For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
3因為我知道我的過犯；我的罪常在我面前。
4Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
4我得罪了你，唯獨得罪你；我行了你眼中看為惡的事，因此，你宣判的時候，顯為公義；你審判的時候，顯為清正。
5Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
5看哪，我是在罪孽裡生的；我母親在罪中懷了我。
6Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
6看哪！你喜愛的是內心的誠實；在我內心的隱密處，你使我得智慧。
7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
7求你用牛膝草潔淨我，我就乾淨；求你洗淨我，我就比雪更白。
8Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
8求你使我聽見歡喜和快樂的聲音，使你所壓傷的骨頭可以歡呼。
9Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
9求你掩面不看我的罪惡，求你塗抹我的一切罪孽。
10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
10 神啊！求你為我造一顆清潔的心，求你使我裡面重新有堅定的靈。
11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
11不要把我從你面前丟棄，不要從我身上收回你的聖靈。
12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
12求你使我重得你救恩的喜樂，重新有樂意的靈支持我。
13Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
13我就必把你的道指教有過犯的人，罪人必回轉歸向你。
14Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
14 神啊！你是拯救我的 神，求你救我脫離流人血的罪；我的舌頭就必頌揚你的公義。
15O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
15主啊！求你開我的嘴，使我的口宣揚讚美你的話。
16For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
16因為你不喜愛祭物；我就是獻上燔祭，你也不喜悅。
17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
17 神所要的祭，就是破碎的靈； 神啊！破碎痛悔的心，你必不輕看。
18Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
18求你按著你的美意善待錫安；求你修築耶路撒冷的城牆。
19Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
19那時，你必悅納公義的祭、全牲的燔祭；那時，人必把公牛獻在你的祭壇上。
