¹Furthermore Elihu answered and said,

¹Ja Eliihu jätkas ning ütles:

²Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.

²'Kuulge mu sõnu, te targad, ja pöörake oma kõrv minu poole, te teadjad!

³For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.

³Sest kõrv katsub sõnad läbi ja suulagi maitseb rooga.

⁴Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.

⁴Valigem endile, mis on õige, tunnetagem isekeskis, mis on hea!

⁵For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.

⁵Sest Iiob on öelnud: 'Ma olen õige, aga Jumal on võtnud minult õiguse.

⁶Should I lie against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression.

⁶Kuigi mul on õigus, peetakse mind valetajaks. Mul on parandamatu haav, kuigi ma pole üle astunud.'

⁷What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?

⁷Kas on Iiobi sarnast meest, kes pilget joob nagu vett,

⁸Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.

⁹For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.

¹⁰Therefore hearken unto me ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.

¹⁰Seepärast kuulge, mõistlikud mehed, mind: kaugel on Jumalast õelus ja Kõigevägevamast ülekohtutegu.

¹¹For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.

¹¹Sest inimese tegu mööda tasub ta temale, ja nagu on kellegi tee, nõnda temale antakse.

¹²Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.

¹²Jah, tõesti, Jumal ei tee ülekohut ja Kõigevägevam ei vääna õigust.

¹³Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?

¹³Kes on temale usaldanud maa? Ja kes on loonud kogu maailma?

¹⁴If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;

¹⁴Kui ta iseenesesse tõmbuks, oma Vaimu ja hingeõhu tagasi võtaks,

¹⁵All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.

¹⁵siis heidaks kõik liha üheskoos hinge ja inimene saaks jälle põrmuks.

¹⁶If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.

¹⁶Kui sul nüüd on arukust, siis kuule seda, võta kõrvu mu sõnade kõla!

¹⁷Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?

¹⁷Kas siis tõesti peaks valitsema õiguse vihkaja? Või tahad sa süüdi mõista õiget ja võimast,

¹⁸Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art wicked? and to princes, Ye are ungodly?

¹⁸kes ütleb kuningale: 'Kõlvatu!', vürstidele: 'Õel!',

¹⁹How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.

¹⁹kes ei pea lugu vürstidest ega eelista suursugust viletsale, sest et need kõik on tema kätetöö?

²⁰In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.

²⁰Nad surevad äkitselt keset ööd: inimesed vaaruvad ja lähevad, ja ilma käetagi võetakse ära vägev.

²¹For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.

²¹Sest tema silmad on igaühe teede peal ja ta näeb kõiki tema samme.

²²There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

²²Ei ole pimedust ega varjulist paika, kuhu ülekohtutegijad saaksid peitu pugeda.

²³For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.

²³Sest tema ei anna inimesele aega Jumala juurde kohtusse minekuks:

²⁴He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.

²⁴ta peksab vägevad üle kuulamata puruks ja paneb teised nende asemele.

²⁵Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed.

²⁵Sellepärast, et ta nende tegusid tunneb, hävitab ta nad öösel ja nad purustatakse.

²⁶He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;

²⁶Ta peksab neid nagu kurjategijaid paigas, kus on nägijaid,

²⁷Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:

²⁷sellepärast et nad taganesid tema järelt ega hoolinud ühestki tema teest.

²⁸So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.

²⁹When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:

²⁹Kui ta on vait, kes võiks teda süüdistada? Ja kui ta oma palge peidab, kes saaks teda näha? Niihästi rahva kui inimese üle

³⁰That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.

³⁰paneb ta kuningaks jumalavallatu inimese rahva võrgutajate seast.

³¹Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more:

³¹Kui keegi ütleb Jumalale: 'Ma olen eksinud, ma ei tee enam kurja;

³²That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.

³²mida ma ei mõista, seda õpeta sina mulle, ja kui olen ülekohut teinud, siis ma seda enam ei tee!',

³³Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.

³³kas ta siis sinu arust peaks kätte maksma, sellepärast et sina ei ole sellega rahul? Kuid sina pead otsustama, mitte mina, seepärast räägi, mida sa tead!

³⁴Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto me.

³⁴Mõistlikud inimesed ütlevad mulle, samuti tark mees, kes mind kuuleb:

³⁵Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.

³⁵'Iiob räägib mõistmatult ja tema sõnad pole targad.'

³⁶My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.

³⁶Ah, peaks ometi Iiob pandama lõpuni proovile, kuna ta on vastanud nurjatul viisil!

³⁷For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.

³⁷Sest ta lisab oma patule üleastumise, peksab meie keskel keelt ja räägib palju Jumala vastu.'
