¹Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,

¹Ja Issand vastas Iiobile ning ütles:

²Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.

²'Kas tahab nuriseja vaielda Kõigevägevamaga? Jumala süüdistaja andku vastus!'

³Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

³Siis Iiob vastas Issandale ja ütles:

⁴Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.

⁴'Vaata, ma olen selleks liiga tühine. Mida peaksin sulle vastama? Ma panen käe suu peale.

⁵Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

⁵Ma olen kord rääkinud ja ma ei vasta enam, koguni kaks korda, ja enam ma seda ei tee.'

⁶Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

⁶Aga Issand vastas Iiobile tormituulest ja ütles:

⁷Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

⁷'Pane nüüd vöö vööle nagu mees, mina küsin sinult ja sina seleta mulle!

⁸Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?

⁸Kas sina tahad minu õigust tühjaks teha, süüdistades mind, et õigustada iseennast?

⁹Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

⁹Ons sul siis käsivars nagu Jumalal, või kas sina oma häälega suudad müristada nagu tema?

¹⁰Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.

¹⁰Ehi ennast siis uhkuse ja väärikusega, pane enesele ülle hiilgust ja ilu!

¹¹Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.

¹¹Päästa valla oma vihavood, vaata kõigi kõrkide peale ja alanda neid!

¹²Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.

¹²Vaata kõigi kõrkide peale, rudju neid, ja rõhu õelad maha otse kohapeal!

¹³Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.

¹³Mata nad kõik üheskoos põrmu, sule nende silmnäod salapaika,

¹⁴Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.

¹⁴siis minagi kiidan sind, et su parem käsi on sind aidanud!

¹⁵Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

¹⁵Vaata ometi jõehobu, kelle ma olen loonud nagu sinugi: ta sööb rohtu nagu veis.

¹⁶Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.

¹⁶Ent vaata tema ristluude rammu ja kõhulihaste jõudu.

¹⁷He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.

¹⁷Ta saba on nagu seedritüvi, ta reite kõõlused otsekui põimitud.

¹⁸His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

¹⁸Ta luud on nagu vaskputked, ta kondid otsekui raudtalad.

¹⁹He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.

¹⁹Ta on Jumala töödest parim: kes ta on teinud, toob ta lähedale mõõga.

²⁰Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

²⁰Jah, toidust toodavad temale mäed, seal, kus kõik metsloomad mängivad.

²¹He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.

²¹Ta magab lootospõõsaste all, redutab pilliroos ja mudas.

²²The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.

²²Lootospõõsad, olles temale varjuks, katavad teda, jõeremmelgad on ta ümber.

²³Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.

²³Vaata, kui ka jõgi peale surub, ta ei tõtta minema, ta jääb kindlaks, isegi kui Jordan tormaks temale suhu.

²⁴He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

²⁴Kas saaks tema nähes teda kinni võtta, temale püüniseid ninna torgata?

²⁵Kas sa saad krokodilli õngega välja tõmmata või nööriga köita tema keelt?

²⁶Kas sa saad temale kõrkjat ninna pista või ta lõugu oraga läbi torgata?

²⁷Kas ta hakkab sind palju anuma või räägib sulle mahedaid sõnu?

²⁸Kas ta teeb sinuga lepingu, et sa võtaksid tema alaliseks sulaseks?

²⁹Kas sa saad temaga mängida nagu linnuga või teda kinni siduda oma tütarlaste jaoks?

³⁰Kas püügiosalised hakkavad tema pärast kauplema, jaotavad teda kaupmeeste vahel?

³¹Kas sa saad tema nahka viskodasid või tema pead kalatuurasid täis tikkida?

³²Pista aga oma käsi tema külge! Kui mõtled võitlusele, siis sa seda enam ei tee.
