¹Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

¹Daavidin psalmi. Ylistä Herraa, minun sieluni, ja kaikki mitä minussa on, ylistä hänen pyhää nimeään.

²Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

²Ylistä Herraa, minun sieluni, älä unohda, mitä hyvää hän on sinulle tehnyt.

³Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

³Hän antaa anteeksi kaikki syntini ja parantaa kaikki sairauteni.

⁴Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

⁴Hän päästää minut kuoleman otteesta ja seppelöi minut armolla ja rakkaudella.

⁵Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

⁵Hän ravitsee minut aina hyvyydellään, ja minä elvyn nuoreksi, niin kuin kotka.

⁶The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

⁶Vanhurskaat ovat Herran teot, hän tuo oikeuden sorretuille.

⁷He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

⁷Hän osoitti tiensä Moosekselle ja näytti Israelille suuret tekonsa.

⁸The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

⁸Anteeksiantava ja laupias on Herra. Hän on kärsivällinen ja hänen armonsa on suuri.

⁹He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

⁹Ei hän iäti meitä syytä, ei hän ikuisesti pidä vihaa.

¹⁰He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

¹⁰Ei hän maksanut meille syntiemme mukaan, ei rangaissut niin kuin olisimme ansainneet.

¹¹For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

¹¹Sillä niin kuin taivas on korkea maan yllä, niin on Herran armo suuri niille, jotka pelkäävät ja rakastavat häntä.

¹²As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

¹²Niin kaukana kuin itä on lännestä, niin kauas hän siirtää meidän syntimme.

¹³Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

¹³Niin kuin isä armahtaa lapsiaan, niin armahtaa Herra niitä, jotka pelkäävät ja rakastavat häntä.

¹⁴For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

¹⁴Hän tuntee meidät ja tietää meidän alkumme, muistaa, että olemme maan tomua.

¹⁵As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

¹⁵Ihmisen elinaika on niin kuin ruohon: kuin kedon kukka hän kukoistaa,

¹⁶For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

¹⁶ja kun tuuli käy yli, ei häntä enää ole eikä hänen asuinsijansa häntä tunne.

¹⁷But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;

¹⁷Mutta Herran armo pysyy ajasta aikaan, se on ikuinen niille, jotka pelkäävät ja rakastavat häntä. Polvesta polveen ulottuu hänen uskollisuutensa

¹⁸To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

¹⁸kaikkiin, jotka pysyvät hänen liitossaan, muistavat hänen käskynsä ja elävät niiden mukaan.

¹⁹The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

¹⁹Herralla on istuimensa taivaissa, ja hänen valtansa alla on kaikki maa.

²⁰Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

²⁰Ylistäkää Herraa, te hänen enkelinsä, te voimalliset sankarit, jotka hänen sanansa kuulette ja hänen käskynsä täytätte.

²¹Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

²¹Ylistäkää Herraa, te taivaan joukot, kaikki hänen palvelijansa, jotka hänen tahtonsa täytätte.

²²Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.

²²Ylistäkää Herraa, te hänen luotunsa kaikkialla hänen valtakunnassaan. Ylistä Herraa, minun sieluni!
