¹Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.

¹聖徒たちへの献金については、わたしはガラテヤの諸教会に命じておいたが、あなたがたもそのとおりにしなさい。

²Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

²一週の初めの日ごとに、あなたがたはそれぞれ、いくらでも収入に応じて手もとにたくわえておき、わたしが着いた時になって初めて集めることのないようにしなさい。

³And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem.

³わたしが到着したら、あなたがたが選んだ人々に手紙をつけ、あなたがたの贈り物を持たせて、エルサレムに送り出すことにしよう。

⁴And if it be meet that I go also, they shall go with me.

⁴もしわたしも行く方がよければ、一緒に行くことになろう。

⁵Now I will come unto you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia.

⁵わたしは、マケドニヤを通過してから、あなたがたのところに行くことになろう。マケドニヤは通過するだけだが、

⁶And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go.

⁶あなたがたの所では、たぶん滞在するようになり、あるいは冬を過ごすかも知れない。そうなれば、わたしがどこへゆくにしても、あなたがたに送ってもらえるだろう。

⁷For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.

⁷わたしは今、あなたがたに旅のついでに会うことは好まない。もし主のお許しがあれば、しばらくあなたがたの所に滞在したいと望んでいる。

⁸But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost.

⁸しかし五旬節までは、エペソに滞在するつもりだ。というのは、有力な働きの門がわたしのために大きく開かれているし、

⁹For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.

⁹また敵対する者も多いからである。

¹⁰Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do.

¹⁰もしテモテが着いたら、あなたがたの所で不安なしに過ごせるようにしてあげてほしい。彼はわたしと同様に、主のご用にあたっているのだから。

¹¹Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren.

¹¹だれも彼を軽んじてはいけない。そして、わたしの所に来るように、どうか彼を安らかに送り出してほしい。わたしは彼が兄弟たちと一緒に来るのを待っている。

¹²As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time.

¹²兄弟アポロについては、兄弟たちと一緒にあなたがたの所に行くように、たびたび勧めてみた。しかし彼には、今行く意志は、全くない。適当な機会があれば、行くだろう。

¹³Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

¹³目をさましていなさい。信仰に立ちなさい。男らしく、強くあってほしい。

¹⁴Let all your things be done with charity.

¹⁴いっさいのことを、愛をもって行いなさい。

¹⁵I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)

¹⁵兄弟たちよ。あなたがたに勧める。あなたがたが知っているように、ステパナの家はアカヤの初穂であって、彼らは身をもって聖徒に奉仕してくれた。

¹⁶That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth.

¹⁶どうか、このような人々と、またすべて彼らと共に働き共に労する人々とに、従ってほしい。

¹⁷I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they have supplied.

¹⁸For they have refreshed my spirit and your's: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such.

¹⁹The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.

¹⁹アジヤの諸教会から、あなたがたによろしく。アクラとプリスカとその家の教会から、主にあって心からよろしく。

²⁰All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with an holy kiss.

²⁰すべての兄弟たちから、よろしく。あなたがたも互に、きよい接吻をもってあいさつをかわしなさい。
