¹It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.

¹現に聞くところによると、あなたがたの間に不品行な者があり、しかもその不品行は、異邦人の間にもないほどのもので、ある人がその父の妻と一緒に住んでいるということである。

²And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

²それだのに、なお、あなたがたは高ぶっている。むしろ、そんな行いをしている者が、あなたがたの中から除かれねばならないことを思って、悲しむべきではないか。

³For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,

³しかし、わたし自身としては、からだは離れていても、霊では一緒にいて、その場にいる者のように、そんな行いをした者を、すでにさばいてしまっている。

⁴In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁴すなわち、主イエスの名によって、あなたがたもわたしの霊も共に、わたしたちの主イエスの権威のもとに集まって、

⁵To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

⁵彼の肉が滅ぼされても、その霊が主のさばきの日に救われるように、彼をサタンに引き渡してしまったのである。

⁶Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

⁶あなたがたが誇っているのは、よろしくない。あなたがたは、少しのパン種が粉のかたまり全体をふくらませることを、知らないのか。

⁷Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

⁷新しい粉のかたまりになるために、古いパン種を取り除きなさい。あなたがたは、事実パン種のない者なのだから。わたしたちの過越の小羊であるキリストは、すでにほふられたのだ。

⁸Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

⁸ゆえに、わたしたちは、古いパン種や、また悪意と邪悪とのパン種を用いずに、パン種のはいっていない純粋で真実なパンをもって、祭をしようではないか。

⁹I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

⁹わたしは前の手紙で、不品行な者たちと交際してはいけないと書いたが、

¹⁰Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

¹⁰それは、この世の不品行な者、貪欲な者、略奪をする者、偶像礼拝をする者などと全然交際してはいけないと、言ったのではない。もしそうだとしたら、あなたがたはこの世から出て行かねばならないことになる。

¹¹But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

¹¹しかし、わたしが実際に書いたのは、兄弟と呼ばれる人で、不品行な者、貪欲な者、偶像礼拝をする者、人をそしる者、酒に酔う者、略奪をする者があれば、そんな人と交際をしてはいけない、食事を共にしてもいけない、ということであった。

¹²For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

¹²外の人たちをさばくのは、わたしのすることであろうか。あなたがたのさばくべき者は、内の人たちではないか。外の人たちは、神がさばくのである。その悪人を、あなたがたの中から除いてしまいなさい。

¹³But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
