¹And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!

¹イエスが宮から出て行かれるとき、弟子のひとりが言った、「先生、ごらんなさい。なんという見事な石、なんという立派な建物でしょう」。

²And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

²イエスは言われた、「あなたは、これらの大きな建物をながめているのか。その石一つでもくずされないままで、他の石の上に残ることもなくなるであろう」。

³And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,

³またオリブ山で、宮にむかってすわっておられると、ペテロ、ヤコブ、ヨハネ、アンデレが、ひそかにお尋ねした。

⁴Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

⁴「わたしたちにお話しください。いつ、そんなことが起るのでしょうか。またそんなことがことごとく成就するような場合には、どんな前兆がありますか」。

⁵And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:

⁵そこで、イエスは話しはじめられた、「人に惑わされないように気をつけなさい。

⁶For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

⁶多くの者がわたしの名を名のって現れ、自分がそれだと言って、多くの人を惑わすであろう。

⁷And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.

⁷また、戦争と戦争のうわさとを聞くときにも、あわてるな。それは起らねばならないが、まだ終りではない。

⁸For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

⁸民は民に、国は国に敵対して立ち上がるであろう。またあちこちに地震があり、またききんが起るであろう。これらは産みの苦しみの初めである。

⁹But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

⁹あなたがたは自分で気をつけていなさい。あなたがたは、わたしのために、衆議所に引きわたされ、会堂で打たれ、長官たちや王たちの前に立たされ、彼らに対してあかしをさせられるであろう。

¹⁰And the gospel must first be published among all nations.

¹⁰こうして、福音はまずすべての民に宣べ伝えられねばならない。

¹¹But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

¹¹そして、人々があなたがたを連れて行って引きわたすとき、何を言おうかと、前もって心配するな。その場合、自分に示されることを語るがよい。語る者はあなたがた自身ではなくて、聖霊である。

¹²Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.

¹²また兄弟は兄弟を、父は子を殺すために渡し、子は両親に逆らって立ち、彼らを殺させるであろう。

¹³And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

¹³また、あなたがたはわたしの名のゆえに、すべての人に憎まれるであろう。しかし、最後まで耐え忍ぶ者は救われる。

¹⁴But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

¹⁴荒らす憎むべきものが、立ってはならぬ所に立つのを見たならば（読者よ、悟れ）、そのとき、ユダヤにいる人々は山へ逃げよ。

¹⁵And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:

¹⁵屋上にいる者は、下におりるな。また家から物を取り出そうとして内にはいるな。

¹⁶And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.

¹⁶畑にいる者は、上着を取りにあとへもどるな。

¹⁷But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

¹⁷その日には、身重の女と乳飲み子をもつ女とは、不幸である。

¹⁸And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.

¹⁸この事が冬おこらぬように祈れ。

¹⁹For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.

¹⁹その日には、神が万物を造られた創造の初めから現在に至るまで、かつてなく今後もないような患難が起るからである。

²⁰And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

²⁰もし主がその期間を縮めてくださらないなら、救われる者はひとりもないであろう。しかし、選ばれた選民のために、その期間を縮めてくださったのである。

²¹And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:

²¹そのとき、だれかがあなたがたに『見よ、ここにキリストがいる』、『見よ、あそこにいる』と言っても、それを信じるな。

²²For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

²²にせキリストたちや、にせ預言者たちが起って、しるしと奇跡とを行い、できれば、選民をも惑わそうとするであろう。

²³But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

²³だから、気をつけていなさい。いっさいの事を、あなたがたに前もって言っておく。

²⁴But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

²⁴その日には、この患難の後、日は暗くなり、月はその光を放つことをやめ、

²⁵And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

²⁵星は空から落ち、天体は揺り動かされるであろう。

²⁶And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

²⁶そのとき、大いなる力と栄光とをもって、人の子が雲に乗って来るのを、人々は見るであろう。

²⁷And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

²⁷そのとき、彼は御使たちをつかわして、地のはてから天のはてまで、四方からその選民を呼び集めるであろう。

²⁸Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:

²⁸いちじくの木からこの譬を学びなさい。その枝が柔らかになり、葉が出るようになると、夏の近いことがわかる。

²⁹So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

²⁹そのように、これらの事が起るのを見たならば、人の子が戸口まで近づいていると知りなさい。

³⁰Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

³⁰よく聞いておきなさい。これらの事が、ことごとく起るまでは、この時代は滅びることがない。

³¹Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

³¹天地は滅びるであろう。しかしわたしの言葉は滅びることがない。

³²But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

³²その日、その時は、だれも知らない。天にいる御使たちも、また子も知らない、ただ父だけが知っておられる。

³³Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

³³気をつけて、目をさましていなさい。その時がいつであるか、あなたがたにはわからないからである。

³⁴For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

³⁴それはちょうど、旅に立つ人が家を出るに当り、その僕たちに、それぞれ仕事を割り当てて責任をもたせ、門番には目をさましておれと、命じるようなものである。

³⁵Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

³⁵だから、目をさましていなさい。いつ、家の主人が帰って来るのか、夕方か、夜中か、にわとりの鳴くころか、明け方か、わからないからである。

³⁶Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

³⁶あるいは急に帰ってきて、あなたがたの眠っているところを見つけるかも知れない。目をさましていなさい。わたしがあなたがたに言うこの言葉は、すべての人々に言うのである」。

³⁷And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

³⁷目をさましていなさい。わたしがあなたがたに言うこの言葉は、すべての人々に言うのである」。
