¹In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?

¹わたしは主に寄り頼む。なにゆえ、あなたがたはわたしにむかって言うのか、「鳥のように山にのがれよ。

²For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

²見よ、悪しき者は、暗やみで、心の直き者を射ようと弓を張り、弦に矢をつがえている。

³If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

³基が取りこわされるならば、正しい者は何をなし得ようか」と。

⁴The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

⁴主はその聖なる宮にいまし、主のみくらは天にあり、その目は人の子らをみそなわし、そのまぶたは人の子らを調べられる。

⁵The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

⁵主は正しき者をも、悪しき者をも調べ、そのみ心は乱暴を好む者を憎まれる。

⁶Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

⁶主は悪しき者の上に炭火と硫黄とを降らせられる。燃える風は彼らがその杯にうくべきものである。主は正しくいまして、正しい事を愛されるからである。直き者は主のみ顔を仰ぎ見るであろう。

⁷For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.
