¹Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.

¹主をほめたたえよ。わが魂よ、主をほめたたえよ。

²While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

²わたしは生けるかぎりは主をほめたたえ、ながらえる間は、わが神をほめうたおう。

³Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

³もろもろの君に信頼してはならない。人の子に信頼してはならない。彼らには助けがない。

⁴His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

⁴その息が出ていけば彼は土に帰る。その日には彼のもろもろの計画は滅びる。

⁵Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:

⁵ヤコブの神をおのが助けとし、その望みをおのが神、主におく人はさいわいである。

⁶Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:

⁶主は天と地と、海と、その中にあるあらゆるものを造り、とこしえに真実を守り、

⁷Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners:

⁷しえたげられる者のためにさばきをおこない、飢えた者に食物を与えられる。主は捕われ人を解き放たれる。

⁸The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:

⁸主は盲人の目を開かれる。主はかがむ者を立たせられる。主は正しい者を愛される。

⁹The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.

⁹主は寄留の他国人を守り、みなしごと、やもめとをささえられる。しかし、悪しき者の道を滅びに至らせられる。主はとこしえに統べ治められる。シオンよ、あなたの神はよろず代まで統べ治められる。主をほめたたえよ。

¹⁰The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD.
