1It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;

3Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
3Laj Daniel kßaxal cuißchic us quixbânu chiruheb li cuib chic chi gobernador joßqueb ajcuiß chixjunileb li nequeßtaklan xban nak kßaxal cuißchic châbil xnaßleb chiruheb chixjunileb. Joßcan nak li rey quixcßoxla xqßuebal laj Daniel chi taklânc saß xbêneb chixjunileb li tenamit.
4Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
4Ut eb li gobernador ut eb li nequeßtaklan saß li tenamit, queßoc chixcakalinquil laj Daniel. Queßoc chixsicßbal chanru nak tâpaltok re nak târûk teßjitok chirix chiru li rey. 5Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
5Tojoßnak eb li cuînk aßan queßxye: —Mâcßaß târûk tojitok cuiß chirix laj Daniel cui incßaß takabânu saß xcßabaß lix pâbanquil xchakßrab lix Dios, chanqueb.
6Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever.

9Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
9Joßcan nak li rey Darío quixqßue li chakßrab ut quixtzßîba lix cßabaß chiru.
10Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
10Nak quixnau nak li rey quixqßue li chakßrab aßan, laj Daniel cô saß rochoch. Ut quixcanab chi teto lix ventanil lix cuaribâl li cuan saß xjayal li tenamit Jerusalén. 12Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king's decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
12Ut queßcôeb saß junpât riqßuin li rey ut queßâtinac riqßuin chirix li chakßrab li quixqßue ut queßxye re: —¿Ma incßaß ta biß xaqßue li chakßrab nak chiru lajêb xcaßcßâl cutan mâ ani tâtzßâmânk chiru lix Dios, malaj ut chiru junak cuînk cui mâcuaß âcuiqßuin lâat, at rey? ¿Ma incßaß ta biß caye nak li ani tâtzßâmânk chiru lix Dios, li jun aßan tâcutekß saß xnaßajeb li cakcoj? chanqueb. Quichakßoc li rey ut quixye: —Yâl nak joßcan. Aßan lix chakßrabeb laj Medo ut eb laj Persia ut mâ ani naru tâjalok re aßan, chan.
13Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
13Ut queßxye re li rey: —Laj Daniel li ralal xcßajoleb laj judío li queßchapeß ut queßcßameß chak arin, aßan incßaß naxqßue âcuanquil, at rey, chi moco naxpâb li chakßrab li xaqßue. Oxib sut chiru li cutan natzßâman chiru lix Dios, chanqueb.
14Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
14Cßajoß nak quirahoß xchßôl li rey nak quirabi cßaßru queßxye eb aßan. Ut aßan quixcßoxla saß xchßôl nak tixcol laj Daniel. Ut quixyal xkße xsicßbal chanru nak tixcol toj chalen nak qui-ecuu.
15Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.
15Eb li cuînk queßsukßi cuißchic riqßuin li rey ut queßxchßutub rib riqßuin ut queßxye re: —At rey, lâat nacanau nak lix chakßrab eb laj Medo ut eb laj Persia naxye nak mâ ani naru najaloc ru li chakßrab xakabanbil xcuanquil xban junak rey, chanqueb.

17And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.

20And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
20Nak yô chi nachßoc aran, chi ra saß xchßôl, li rey quixbok laj Daniel ut quixye re: —At Daniel, lâat aj cßanjel chiru li yoßyôquil Dios. ¿Ma xatxcol lâ Dios li junelic nacacßanjela ru? ¿Ma xatxcol chiruheb li cakcoj? chan re.
21Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
21Laj Daniel quichakßoc ut quixye re: —At rey, chicuânk taxak lâ yußam chi junelic.
22My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
