1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
1Arī jūs bijāt miruši savos noziegumos un grēkos,
2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
2Kuros kādreiz dzīvojāt, pakļāvušies šīs pasaules laikmetam, pakļauti gaisa valsts valdniekam, garam, kas vēl tagad darbojas nepaklausības bērnos.
3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
3Arī mēs visi kopā ar viņiem reiz dzīvojām savās miesas kārībās, izpildīdami miesas un iedomu iegribas. Savā dabā mēs bijām dusmības bērni, tāpat kā pārējie.
4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
4Bet Dievs, bagāts būdams savā žēlastībā, savas lielās mīlestības dēļ, ar kuru Viņš mūs mīlējis.
5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
5Kristū atdzīvināja mūs, kas bijām miruši savos grēkos. Viņš savā žēlastībā jūs glāba.
6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
6Un Viņš mūs Jēzū Kristū līdzuzmodināja un līdznovietoja debesīs.
7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
7Lai labsirdībā nākošajos laikos parādītu mums savas žēlastības pārpilno bagātību Kristū Jēzū.
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
8Jo žēlastībā jūs esat pestīti ticībā, un tas nav no jums, tā ir Dieva dāvana;
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
9Ne darbu dēļ, lai neviens nelielītos.
10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
10Jo mēs esam Viņa radība, Kristū Jēzū radīti labajiem darbiem, ko Dievs sagatavojis, lai mēs tanīs dzīvotu.
11Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
11Tāpēc pieminiet, ka jūs, kas agrāk bijāt pēc miesas pagāni, tā saucamie rokām miesīgi apgraizītie sauca par neapgraizītajiem,
12That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
12Jo jūs tanī laikā bijāt bez Kristus, šķirti no Izraēļa kopības, sveši apsolījumu derībai, bez cerības un bez Dieva šinī pasaulē.
13But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
13Bet Kristū Jēzū jūs, kas citkārt bijāt tālu, tagad, pateicoties Kristus asinīm, kļuvāt tuvi.
14For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
14Jo mūsu miers ir Viņš, kas abus savienoja vienā, un ar savu miesu iznīcināja ienaidnieku, kas kā starpsiena mūs šķīra.
15Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
15Viņš nodibināja mieru, atceldams likumu ar saviem priekšrakstiem un nosacījumiem, pārveidodams sevī divus vienā jaunā cilvēkā.
16And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
16Viņš caur krustu abus vienā miesā izlīdzināja ar Dievu, nonāvēdams ienaidu pats sevī.
17And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
17Un Viņš atnācis pasludināja mieru jums, kas bijāt tālu, un mieru tiem, kas tuvu.
18For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
18Jo caur Viņu mums abiem dota pieeja pie Tēva vienā Garā.
19Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
19Tātad jūs vairs neesat svešinieki un ienācēji, bet esat svēto līdzpilsoņi un Dieva saimes locekļi,
20And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
20Kas uzcelti uz apustuļu un praviešu pamata, bet galvenais stūrakmens ir Kristus Jēzus.
21In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
21Katra uz Viņa celtā celtne izaug par svētu templi Kungā.
22In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
22Viņā arī jūs Garā tiekat uzcelti par Dieva mājokli.
