¹Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:

²Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

³I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

³Es pateicos savam Dievam, kad vien jūs pieminu,

⁴Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,

⁴Vienmēr visās savās lūgšanās par jums visiem ar prieku aizlūgdams,

⁵For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;

⁵Par jūsu līdzdalību Kristus evaņģēlijā no pirmās dienas līdz šim laikam.

⁶Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

⁶Es esmu stipri pārliecināts par to, ka Tas, kas jūsos labo darbu iesācis, to arī pabeigs līdz Jēzus Kristus dienai.

⁷Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

⁷Tas ir taisnīgi, ka es par jums visiem domāju, jo jūs esat līdzdalībnieki manā priekā, manās važās, evaņģēlija aizstāvēšanā un nostiprināšanā.

⁸For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

⁸Jo Dievs ir mans liecinieks, ka es ilgojos pēc jums visiem Jēzus Kristus mīlestībā.

⁹And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

⁹Un par to es lūdzu Dievu, lai jūsu mīlestība vairāk un vairāk pieaugtu zināšanā un visādā izpratnē,

¹⁰That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.

¹⁰Lai jūs izšķirtos par labāko, ka jūs Kristus dienā būtu tīri un nevainojami,

¹¹Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

¹¹Caur Jēzu Kristu pilni taisnības augļu Dieva godam un slavai.

¹²But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;

¹²Bet es gribu, brāļi, lai jūs zinātu, ka mani tagadējie apstākļi vairāk sekmējuši evaņģēliju,

¹³So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;

¹³Jo manas važas Kristū ir kļuvušas zināmas visai sardzei un visiem citiem;

¹⁴And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

¹⁴Un daudzi brāļi Kungā, iedvesmoti no manām važām, arvien sekmīgāk uzdrošinās bezbailīgi sludināt Dieva vārdu.

¹⁵Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:

¹⁵Daži gan sludina Kristu naida un strīda dēļ, bet citi no labas gribas;

¹⁶The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

¹⁶Daži aiz mīlestības, zinādami, ka esmu iecelts evaņģēlija aizstāvēšanai;

¹⁷But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.

¹⁷Bet kas sludina Kristu ķildošanās un ne labā nolūkā, tiem prātā manām važām pievienot vēl bēdas.

¹⁸What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

¹⁸Bet kas par to? Vai ar izlikšanos, vai patiesībā, kad tik Kristus visādos veidos tiek sludināts! Par to es priecājos un arī turpmāk priecāšos.

¹⁹For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

¹⁹Jo es zinu, ka tas, pateicoties jūsu lūgšanai un Jēzus Kristus gara atbalstam, noderēs man pestīšanai.

²⁰According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

²⁰Es gaidu un ceru, ka es nekad kaunā nepalikšu, bet visā paļāvībā kā vienmēr, ta arī tagad Kristus tiks pagodināts manā miesā, vai nu man dzīvojot, vai mirstot.

²¹For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

²¹Jo Kristus ir mana dzīve, bet nāve ieguvums.

²²But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.

²²Bet ja dzīvošana miesā nes manam darbam augļus, tad es nezinu, ko lai izvēlos?

²³For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

²³Es tieku bīdīts no divām pusēm; es kāroju atraisīties un būt kopā ar Kristu, tas būtu tas vislabākais,

²⁴Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

²⁴Bet jūsu dēļ nepieciešams palikt vēl miesā,

²⁵And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;

²⁵Un to es visā paļāvībā zinu, ka es palikšu pie jums visiem jūsu ticības un prieka sekmēšanai,

²⁶That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.

²⁶Lai jūsu līksmība Jēzus Kristus vārdā būtu jo lielāka manis dēļ, kad es atkal aiziešu pie jums.

²⁷Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

²⁷Tikai dzīvojiet Kristus evaņģēlija cienīgi, lai es, pie jums aizgājis, redzētu vai atkal prombūtnē dzirdētu par jums, ka jūs esat vienā garā un vienprātīgi strādājat evaņģēlija ticības labā. (Ef 4,1; Kol 1,10; 1 Tes 2,12)

²⁸And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

²⁸Un nekad nebīstieties no pretiniekiem, jo tas viņiem ir pazudināšanas, bet jums pestīšanas cēlonis, un tas no Dieva.

²⁹For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

²⁹Jo tas jums dots: nevien uz Kristu ticēt, bet arī par Viņu ciest.

³⁰Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

³⁰Tā pati cīņa, kādu pie manis redzējāt un tagad par mani dzirdat, arī jums jāizcīna.
