¹Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.

¹ ای مردم تمامی جهان بیایید! جمع شوید و گوش دهید. تمام زمین و هرکس که در روی زمین زندگی می‌کند، بیاید و بشنود.

²For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.

² خداوند نسبت به تمام ملّتها و ارتش‌‌های آنها خشمگین است. او آنها را به مرگ و نابودی محکوم کرده است.

³Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.

³ اجساد آنها دفن نخواهد شد. آن اجساد می‌مانند تا بپوسند و مُتعفّن شوند، و کوهها از خون، سرخ فام خواهند بود.

⁴And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

⁴ خورشید و ماه و ستارگان به گرد و خاک مُبدّل خواهند شد. مثل طوماری که بپیچند، آسمان هم همان‌طور ناپدید خواهد شد، و ستارگان مانند برگهای یک تاک یا درخت انجیر بر زمین خواهند ریخت.

⁵For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.

⁵ خداوند شمشیر خود را در آسمان کشیده و آمادهٔ ضربه زدن به اَدوم -‌به مردمی که محکوم به نابودی شده‌اند- می‌باشد.

⁶The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.

⁶ شمشیر خداوند به خون و چربی آنها، که مثل خون و چربی گوسفندان و بُزهای قربانی شده می‌باشد، آغشته شده است. خداوند در شهر بُصره قربانی خواهد گذرانید. او کشت و کشتار بزرگی در سرزمین اَدوم خواهد کرد.

⁷And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.

⁷ مردم مثل گاو و گوسالهٔ قربانی خواهند افتاد و زمین، از خون قرمز و از چربی پوشیده است.

⁸For it is the day of the LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.

⁸ این زمانی است که خداوند صهیون را نجات و دشمنانش را شکست خواهد داد.

⁹And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.

⁹ وادیهای اَدوم به قیر و خاک آن به گوگرد مبدّل خواهد شد. تمام سرزمین مثل قیر خواهد سوخت.

¹⁰It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.

¹⁰ روز و شب می‌سوزد و برای همیشه از آن دود برمی‌خیزد. آن سرزمین برای زمان متمادی بایر و بی‌مصرف خواهد بود و کسی از آن عبور نخواهد کرد

¹¹But the cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl also and the raven shall dwell in it: and he shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness.

¹¹ و لانهٔ جغدها و کلاغها خواهد شد. خداوند باز هم آن را بایر و بی‌مصرف خواهد کرد و به صورت قبل از خلقت در‌می‌آورد.

¹²They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none shall be there, and all her princes shall be nothing.

¹² دیگر پادشاهی نخواهد بود که بر آن کشور حکومت کند، و رهبرانشان همه رفته‌اند.

¹³And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and brambles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of dragons, and a court for owls.

¹³ خار و خلنگ در تمام کاخها و شهرهای حصاردارش خواهد رویید و جغد و شغال در آن زندگی خواهند کرد.

¹⁴The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.

¹⁴ حیوانات وحشی در آنجا خواهند گشت و بُزهای وحشی یکدیگر را صدا می‌زنند و هیولای شب به آنجا می‌رود تا جایی برای استراحت پیدا کند.

¹⁵There shall the great owl make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow: there shall the vultures also be gathered, every one with her mate.

¹⁵ جغدها لانه‌های خود را می‌سازند، تخم می‌گذارند، بچّه‌دار می‌شوند و در آنجا از بچّه‌های خود نگهداری می‌کنند. لاشخورها یکی پس از دیگری به‌ آنجا خواهند رفت.

¹⁶Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.

¹⁶ کتاب خداوند را دربارهٔ موجودات زنده بجویید و بخوانید و ببینید که چه می‌گوید. هیچ‌یک از این مخلوقات گُم نخواهد شد و هیچ‌یک بدون جفت نخواهد بود، این فرمان خداوند است. او خودش آنها را جمع می‌کند. خداوند است که زمین را بین آنها تقسیم می‌کند و به هر یک از آنها سهمی می‌دهد. آنها برروی این زمین زمانهای متمادی زندگی می‌کنند و زمین، برای همیشه متعلّق به آنان خواهد بود.

¹⁷And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.

¹⁷ خداوند است که زمین را بین آنها تقسیم می‌کند و به هر یک از آنها سهمی می‌دهد. آنها برروی این زمین زمانهای متمادی زندگی می‌کنند و زمین، برای همیشه متعلّق به آنان خواهد بود.
