¹Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

¹ حکمت شما را دعوت می‌کند و دانایی شما را به سوی خود می‌خواند.

²She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.

² در جاهای بلند، در کنار جاده‌‌ها و سر چهار راهها ایستاده است.

³She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.

³ او کنار دروازهٔ شهرها و در جلوی در خانه‌ها فریاد می‌زند.

⁴Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.

⁴ ای تمام مردم روی زمین، من همهٔ شما را فرا می‌خوانم.

⁵O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

⁵ اگر جاهل هستید، یاد بگیرید تا عاقل شوید. اگر نادان هستید، یاد بگیرید تا دانا شوید.

⁶Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.

⁶ گوش بدهید چون سخنانم بسیار عالی و آنچه می‌گویم کاملاً درست است.

⁷For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

⁷ آنچه می‌گویم حقیقت دارد، زیرا از دروغ نفرت دارم.

⁸All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.

⁸ هرچه می‌گویم حقیقت است و هیچ ناراستی و فریب در آن نیست.

⁹They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

⁹ برای مردم دانا و فهمیده، کاملاً روشن و آشکار است.

¹⁰Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

¹⁰ به جای پول، نصایح مرا انتخاب کنید و در عوض طلای ناب، عقل به ‌دست آورید.

¹¹For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

¹¹ من حکمت هستم. ارزش من از جواهرات بیشتر است و هیچ چیزی در دنیا نیست که بتوانی آن را با من مقایسه کنی.

¹²I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

¹² من حکمت هستم، عاقل و دانا می‌باشم.

¹³The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

¹³ احترام به خداوند یعنی نفرت کردن از بدی. من از غرور و تکبّر، از راههای بد و زبان دروغگو نفرت دارم.

¹⁴Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

¹⁴ حکمت و مشورت کامل نزد من است. من عاقل هستم؛ و قوی و استوار می‌باشم.

¹⁵By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

¹⁵ پادشاهان را کمک می‌کنم تا سلطنت نمایند و فرمانروایان با کمک من، عادلانه فرمان می‌دهند.

¹⁶By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.

¹⁶ تمام حکمرانان جهان با کمک من حکمرانی می‌کنند. مردمان شریف و فرمانداران از من کمک می‌گیرند.

¹⁷I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

¹⁷ کسانی‌که مرا دوست دارند، دوست می‌دارم و هر که مرا بجوید، مرا به ‌دست خواهد آورد.

¹⁸Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

¹⁸ ثروت و عزّت، سعادت و موفقیّت نزد من است

¹⁹My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.

¹⁹ هر چیزی که به ‌وسیلهٔ من به دست آوری، از طلای ناب بهتر و از نقرهٔ خالص گرانبهاتر است.

²⁰I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

²⁰ راههای من عدالت و حقیقت است.

²¹That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.

²¹ به کسانی‌که مرا دوست می‌دارند، ثروت می‌بخشم و انبارهای آنها را پر می‌کنم.

²²The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

²² خداوند، در زمانهای خیلی قدیم، قبل از هر چیز مرا آفرید و من، اولین مخلوق خداوند هستم.

²³I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

²³ من از روز اول آفریده شدم. در ابتدا، پیش از آن که جهان آفریده شود.

²⁴When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

²⁴ قبل از اقیانوسها به دنیا آمدم، قبل از آنکه چشمه‌های آب به وجود آیند.

²⁵Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

²⁵ قبل از کوهها متولّد شدم؛ پیش از اینکه تپّه‌ها به وجود آیند.

²⁶While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

²⁶ قبل از اینکه خداوند، زمین و صحراها و حتّی ذرات خاک زمین را خلق کند، من وجود داشتم.

²⁷When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

²⁷ وقتی‌که او آسمان را خلق می‌کرد، و افق را در اطراف اقیانوسها می‌گسترانید، من آنجا بودم.

²⁸When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:

²⁸ وقتی‌که او ابرها را در آسمان، و چشمه‌ها را در اعماق زمین قرار می‌داد،

²⁹When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

²⁹ زمانی که حدود دریاها را معیّن می‌کرد تا آبها از حدود خود تجاوز نکنند و زمانی که زمین را بنیاد می‌نهاد، من نزد او بودم.

³⁰Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

³⁰ من مانند یک معمار در حضور او و منبع شادی روزانه‌اش بودم. پیوسته در نزد او شادی می‌کردم،

³¹Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

³¹ و از جهان و از مردمش خشنود بودم.

³²Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

³² حال ای جوانان گوش کنید: آنچه می‌گویم انجام دهید تا شادمان باشید.

³³Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

³³ به آنچه آموختید توجّه داشته باشید. عاقل باشید و از آنها سرپیچی منمایید.

³⁴Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

³⁴ کسانی‌که به سخنان من گوش می‌دهند، و کسانی‌که هر روز در مقابل خانهٔ من می‌ایستند و بیرون در انتظار می‌کشند، خوشحال خواهند شد.

³⁵For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

³⁵ کسی‌که مرا به دست می‌آورد، زندگی حقیقی را پیدا می‌کند و خداوند از او خشنود خواهد شد. کسی‌که مرا به دست نمی‌آورد، به خودش صدمه می‌زند. کسی‌که از من نفرت دارد، مرگ را دوست می‌دارد.

³⁶But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

³⁶ کسی‌که مرا به دست نمی‌آورد، به خودش صدمه می‌زند. کسی‌که از من نفرت دارد، مرگ را دوست می‌دارد.
