¹Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.

¹ خداوندا، چون تو امین و عادل هستی، دعای مرا بشنو و به التماس من گوش بده.

²And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.

² بنده‌ات را محاکمه مکن، زیرا هیچ شخص زنده‌ای در حضور تو بی‌گناه نیست.

³For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.

³ دشمن، مرا از پای درآورده و به زمین زده است. چنان روزگارم را سیاه کرده است که گویی سالهاست مرده‌ام.

⁴Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.

⁴ به‌خاطر این خود را باخته‌ام و بکلّی مأیوس شده‌ام.

⁵I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.

⁵ گذشته‏ها را به یاد می‌آورم و به آنچه که تو برای من انجام داده‏ای فکر می‌کنم.

⁶I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.

⁶ دستهای خود را برای دعا به درگاه تو بلند می‌کنم. مانند زمین خشکی که تشنهٔ آب است، همچنان جان من تشنهٔ توست.

⁷Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.

⁷ خداوندا، دعایم را هرچه زودتر مستجاب کن، زیرا امیدم را از دست داده‌ام. روی خود را از من مپوشان، مبادا بمیرم و به دیار خاموشان بروم.

⁸Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

⁸ همه روزه از محبّت پایدار خود برخوردارم کن، زیرا بر تو توکّل دارم، به درگاه تو دعا می‌کنم تا راه زندگی را به من نشان بدهی.

⁹Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.

⁹ خداوندا، به تو پناه آورده‌ام، مرا از شر دشمنان برهان.

¹⁰Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.

¹⁰ تو خدای من هستی، مرا تعلیم بده تا ارادهٔ تو را انجام دهم. روح پاکت مرا به راه راست هدایت فرماید.

¹¹Quicken me, O LORD, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble.

¹¹ خداوندا، مطابق وعدهٔ خود زندگیم را حفظ کن و با لطف خود مرا از مشکلاتم رهایی ده. به‌خاطر محبّت پایداری که به من داری، دشمنانم را نابود کن و کسانی را که بر من ظلم می‌کنند، از بین ببر، زیرا که من بندهٔ تو هستم.

¹²And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.

¹² به‌خاطر محبّت پایداری که به من داری، دشمنانم را نابود کن و کسانی را که بر من ظلم می‌کنند، از بین ببر، زیرا که من بندهٔ تو هستم.
