¹The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

¹ آسمانها جلال خدا را بیان می‌کنند و فلک، صنعت دست او را نشان می‌دهد.

²Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

² روزها معرفت خدا را اعلام می‌کنند و شبها حکمت او را.

³There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

³ نه سخنی شنیده می‌شود و نه کلامی.

⁴Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

⁴ با وجود این، پیامشان به سراسر زمین می‌رسد و ندای ایشان به سرتاسر جهان. مکانی برای آفتاب در آسمان بنا نموده است،

⁵Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

⁵ و آن مانند دامادی از حجلهٔ خود بیرون می‌آید، و چون قهرمانی که با شادی برای دویدن به میدان می‌رود.

⁶His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

⁶ از یک طرف آسمان شروع می‌کند و به سوی دیگر آن می‌شتابد و هیچ چیز از حرارتش در امان نیست.

⁷The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

⁷ شریعت خداوند کامل است و جان را تازه می‌کند. اوامر خداوند قابل اطمینان است و ساده دلان را حکمت می‌بخشد.

⁸The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

⁸ دستورات خداوند درست است و دل را شاد می‌‌کند. اوامر خداوند پاک است و به انسان آگاهی می‌بخشد.

⁹The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

⁹ احترام به خداوند نیکو و ابدی است. احکام خداوند حق و کاملاً عادلانه است.

¹⁰More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

¹⁰ مرغوبتر از طلای ناب، و شیرین‌تر از عسل خالص است.

¹¹Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

¹¹ آنها بندهٔ تو را هشیار می‌سازد و پیروی از آنها پاداش بسیار دارد.

¹²Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

¹² کیست که از اشتباهات پنهانی خود آگاه باشد؟ خداوندا، گناهان پنهانی مرا بیامرز.

¹³Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

¹³ همچنین مرا از گناهان عمدی بازدار. مگذار که این گناهان بر من چیره شوند، آنگاه بی‌عیب و بی‌گناه خواهم بود. ای خداوند، ای پناهگاه و ای نجات‌دهندهٔ من، سخنان زبانم و دعاهایم مقبول درگاه تو باشد.

¹⁴Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

¹⁴ ای خداوند، ای پناهگاه و ای نجات‌دهندهٔ من، سخنان زبانم و دعاهایم مقبول درگاه تو باشد.
