¹Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.

¹ خدایا، جانم به لبم رسیده است، مرا نجات ده.

²I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

² در گرداب مشکلات فرو رفته‌ام و نزدیک است که از پای درآیم، در‌ آبهای عمیق غرق می‌شوم و سیلاب به بالای سرم رسیده است.

³I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.

³ از ناله خسته شده و گلویم خشک شده است. در انتظار کمک تو چشمانم تار گردیده‌اند.

⁴They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.

⁴ تعداد آنانی که بی‌جهت از من نفرت دارند از موی سرم زیادتر است. دشمنانم دربارهٔ من دروغ می‌گویند. آنانی که قصد جان مرا دارند، قوی هستند. مرا مجبور کردند آنچه را که ندزدیده بودم، پس بدهم.

⁵O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.

⁵ خدایا، گناهان من از تو پنهان نیستند و تو از حماقت من آگاهی.

⁶Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.

⁶ ای خداوند، خدای متعال مگذار به‌خاطر من آنانی که بر تو توکّل نموده‌اند، شرمنده شوند. ای خدای اسرائیل، آنانی را که به تو امید دارند به‌خاطر من خجل مساز.

⁷Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.

⁷ من به‌خاطر تو رسوا و شرمنده شده‌ام.

⁸I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children.

⁸ نزد فامیلم مانند یک غریبه و نزد خانواده‌ام مانند بیگانه‌ها شده‌ام.

⁹For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.

⁹ غیرتی که برای خانهٔ تو دارم، آتشی در وجودم برافروخته. دشمنان همچنان‌که به تو اهانت نمودند، به من نیز توهین کردند.

¹⁰When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.

¹⁰ هنگامی‌که با روزه گرفتن، خود را فروتن نمودم، مردم به من توهین کردند.

¹¹I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.

¹¹ وقتی پلاس پوشیدم، به من خندیدند.

¹²They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards.

¹² زبانزد مردم کوچه و بازار و شرابخواران گردیده‌ام و برایم سرود می‌خوانند.

¹³But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.

¹³ امّا من، ای خداوند، به درگاه تو دعا می‌کنم. ای خدا، در وقت مناسب به من جواب بده، به‌خاطر محبّت پایدار خود دعایم را مستجاب فرما و به سبب وعدهٔ خود مرا نجات بده.

¹⁴Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

¹⁴ مرا از این گِرداب مشکلات نجات بده و از شر دشمنان، در پناه خود حفظ فرما.

¹⁵Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.

¹⁵ مگذار در مشکلات غرق شوم و در این گرفتاری‌ها نابود گردم و سرانجام راهی گور شوم.

¹⁶Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.

¹⁶ خداوندا، محبّت پایدار تو چه نیکوست، پس به‌خاطر رحمت عظیمت به من توجّه نما.

¹⁷And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.

¹⁷ روی خود را از بندهٔ خود مپوشان، اکنون که در سختی هستم مرا مستجاب نما.

¹⁸Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.

¹⁸ بیا و تاوان آزادی مرا بپرداز و مرا از دست دشمنانم نجات بده.

¹⁹Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee.

¹⁹ تو می‌دانی که چگونه رسوا شده‌ام و مورد سرزنش و توهین قرار گرفته‌ام. تو همهٔ دشمنانم را می‌شناسی.

²⁰Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.

²⁰ سرزنش‌های مردم، دلم را شکسته و مأیوس شده‌ام. به هر سو روی آوردم، دلسوزی نیافتم و از کسی تسلّی نیافتم.

²¹They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

²¹ هنگامی‌که گرسنه بودم زهر به من تعارف کردند؛ و وقتی تشنه بودم، سرکه به من دادند.

²²Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.

²² بگذار جشن آنها به ماتم و امنیّت آنان به تشویش مبدّل گردد.

²³Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.

²³ چشمانشان را کور و کمرشان را سست گردان.

²⁴Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.

²⁴ خشم خود را بر سر آنان بریز و ایشان را با آتش غضبت بسوزان.

²⁵Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.

²⁵ خانه‌های ایشان ویران شود و کسی در چادر‌های آنان ساکن نگردد.

²⁶For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.

²⁶ زیرا آنها به کسانی آزار می‌رسانند که تو تنبیه نموده‌ای و دربارهٔ آنهایی گفت‌وگو می‌کنند که تو مجازات نموده‌ای.

²⁷Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.

²⁷ گناهانشان را در نظر بگیر و راه نجات را بر آنان ببند.

²⁸Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

²⁸ نامشان را از دفتر زندگی محو کن و آنان را جزء قوم خود مشمار.

²⁹But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.

²⁹ امّا من در رنج و عذابم، ای خدا مرا نجات بده و سربلند گردان.

³⁰I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

³⁰ من با سرود، خدا را ستایش خواهم كرد؛ و با شکرگزاری عظمت او را بیان خواهم کرد.

³¹This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.

³¹ خداوند این را بیشتر از قربانی گاو و گوساله می‌پسندد.

³²The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.

³² وقتی مظلومان این را ببینند، خوشحال خواهند شد و آنانی که خدا را پرستش می‌کنند، تشویق خواهند شد.

³³For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners.

³³ زیرا خداوند دعای نیازمندان را می‌شنود و یاران اسیر خود را از یاد نمی‌برد.

³⁴Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein.

³⁴ ای آسمان و زمین، خدا را ستایش کنید. دریاها و همهٔ موجودات آن، او را ستایش كنید.

³⁵For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.

³⁵ خدا اورشلیم را نجات خواهد داد و شهرهای یهودا را دوباره آباد خواهد کرد. قوم او آنها را تصرّف نموده در آنها سکونت خواهد کرد. نسل بندگان او وارث آن خواهند شد و کسانی‌که او را دوست می‌دارند، در آن سکونت خواهند نمود.

³⁶The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.

³⁶ نسل بندگان او وارث آن خواهند شد و کسانی‌که او را دوست می‌دارند، در آن سکونت خواهند نمود.
