¹O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

¹ ای خداوند، تو خدای انتقام گیرنده هستی، خشم خود را آشکار ساز!

²Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.

² ای داور جهان، برخیز و متکبّران را به سزای كارهایشان برسان.

³LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?

³ خداوندا، تا به کی شریران موفّق و کامران خواهند بود؟

⁴How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

⁴ تا به کی جنایتکاران بر خود خواهند بالید و بر کارهای خود افتخار خواهند نمود؟

⁵They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage.

⁵ خداوندا، آنها قوم تو را از بین می‌برند و به آنانی که به تو تعلّق دارند، ظلم می‌کنند.

⁶They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

⁶ بیوه زنان و یتیمان و غریبانی را که در این سرزمین زندگی می‌کنند، می‌کشند.

⁷Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

⁷ می‌گویند: «خداوند نمی‌بیند و خدای اسرائیل متوجّه نمی‌شود.»

⁸Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

⁸ ای قوم من، چقدر نادان هستید، کی می‌خواهید بفهمید؟

⁹He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

⁹ آیا خدایی که گوش را به ما داد، نمی‌شنود! و یا خدایی‌ که چشم را آفرید، نمی‌بیند؟

¹⁰He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?

¹⁰ او‌ که ملّتها را سرزنش می‌کند، آیا آنان را مجازات نخواهد‌ کرد؟ آیا او که همهٔ مردم را تعلیم می‌دهد، خودش متوجّه نمی‌شود؟

¹¹The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

¹¹ خداوند از افکار آدمیان آگاه است و می‌داند که افكار ما بیهوده است.

¹²Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;

¹² خوشا به حال کسی‌که تو او را تأدیب می‌کنی و شریعت خود را به او می‌آموزی.

¹³That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

¹³ در روز سختی به او آرامش می‌بخشی؛ روزی‌ که گناهکاران را به مجازات می‌رسانی.

¹⁴For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

¹⁴ خداوند قوم خود را فراموش نمی‌‌کند و قوم برگزیدهٔ خود را هرگز رد نخواهد کرد.

¹⁵But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

¹⁵ بار دیگر عدالت به دادگاهها باز خواهد گشت و عادلان از آن پشتیبانی خواهند کرد.

¹⁶Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

¹⁶ در مقابل شریران، چه کسی از من دفاع خواهد کرد؟ در برابر مردم بدکار، چه کسی مرا یاری خواهد نمود؟

¹⁷Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

¹⁷ اگر خداوند به من کمک نمی‌کرد، تا به حال نابود شده بودم.

¹⁸When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.

¹⁸ وقتی فریاد کردم که می‌افتم، تو ای خداوند از روی محبّت پایدارت، دستم را گرفتی.

¹⁹In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

¹⁹ هنگامی‌که اضطراب و نگرانی به من روی می‌آورد، تو ای خداوند مرا تسلّی می‌دهی و شادمان می‌سازی.

²⁰Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?

²⁰ با داوران ظالم که قانون را ظالمانه اجرا می‌کنند، سر و کاری نداری.

²¹They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.

²¹ آنان برای مردم درستکار دسیسه می‌چینند و اشخاص بی‌گناه را به مرگ محکوم می‌کنند.

²²But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

²² امّا خداوند پشتیبان من است و از من دفاع می‌کند. او آنان را به‌خاطر شرارتشان مجازات خواهد كرد و به سبب گناهانشان آنان را نابود خواهد نمود. بلی، خداوند، خدای ما آنها را بکلّی نابود خواهد ساخت.

²³And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.

²³ او آنان را به‌خاطر شرارتشان مجازات خواهد كرد و به سبب گناهانشان آنان را نابود خواهد نمود. بلی، خداوند، خدای ما آنها را بکلّی نابود خواهد ساخت.
