¹I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.

¹ در رؤیای دیگری مردی را دیدم که یک مقیاس اندازه‌گیری در دست داشت.

²Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.

² از او پرسیدم: «کجا می‌روی؟» او جواب داد: «برای اندازه‌گیری شهر اورشلیم می‌روم و می‌خواهم ببینم که طول و عرض آن چقدر است.»

³And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,

³ آنگاه فرشته‌ای که با من صحبت می‌کرد به استقبال فرشتهٔ دیگری که به طرف او می‌آمد، رفت.

⁴And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:

⁴ فرشتهٔ دومی به اولی گفت: «بشتاب و به آن جوانی که مقیاس اندازه‌گیری در دست دارد بگو که اورشلیم آن‌قدر از انسان و حیوان پُر می‌شود که شهری بدون دیوار خواهد شد.

⁵For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.

⁵ خداوند وعده داده است که خودش مانند دیوار آتشینی از شهر محافظت نموده، با تمام شکوه و جلال خود در آن ساکن خواهد شد.»

⁶Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.

⁶ خداوند به قوم خود می‌فرماید: «ای کسانی‌که در بابل در تبعید به سر می‌برید، من شما را به چهار گوشهٔ زمین پراکنده ساختم،

⁷Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.

⁷ امّا اکنون از بابل فرار کنید و به اورشلیم بازگردید.

⁸For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

⁸ هرکسی که به شما آزار برساند، در حقیقت به من آزار می‌رساند، زیرا شما مانند مردمک چشم من هستید.» بنابراین، خداوند متعال مرا با این پیام نزد اقوامی که قوم او را غارت کرده‌اند فرستاد.

⁹For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.

⁹ خداوند، خودش با شما می‌جنگد و شما توسط کسانی‌که زمانی بردهٔ شما بودند، تاراج خواهید شد. آنگاه همه خواهند دانست که خداوند متعال مرا فرستاده است.

¹⁰Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.

¹⁰ ‌خداوند می‌فرماید: «ای اورشلیم آواز شادمانی بخوان! زیرا من می‌آیم و در بین شما ساکن می‌شوم.»

¹¹And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.

¹¹ ‌در آن زمان اقوام زیادی به سوی خداوند متعال خواهند آمد و قوم او خواهند شد.

¹²And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.

¹² بار دیگر یهودا ارث ویژهٔ خداوند، در سرزمین مقدّس او و اورشلیم شهر برگزیدهٔ او خواهد شد. ای مردم، در حضور خداوند خاموش باشید، زیرا او از جایگاه مقدّس خود برخاسته است و به زمین می‌آید.

¹³Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.
