¹There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

¹În vremea aceea au venit unii, şi au istorisit lui Isus ce se întîmplase unor Galileeni, al căror sînge îl amestecase Pilat cu jertfele lor.

²And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

²,,Credeţi voi``, le -a răspuns Isus, ,,că aceşti Galileeni au fost mai păcătoşi decît toţi ceilalţi Galileeni, pentrucă au păţit astfel?

³I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

³Eu vă spun: nu; ci, dacă nu vă pocăiţi, toţi veţi peri la fel.

⁴Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

⁴Sau acei optsprezece inşi, peste cari a căzut turnul din Siloam, şi i -a omorît, credeţi că au fost mai păcătoşi decît toţi ceilalţi oameni, cari locuiau în Ierusalim?

⁵I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

⁵Eu vă spun: nu; ci, dacă nu vă pocăiţi, toţi veţi pieri la fel.``

⁶He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

⁶El a spus şi pilda aceasta: ,,Un om avea un smochin sădit în via sa. A venit să caute rod în el, şi n'a găsit.

⁷Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

⁷Atunci a zis vierului: ,Iată că sînt trei ani, decînd vin şi caut rod în smochinul acesta, şi nu găsesc. Taie -l. La ce să mai cuprindă şi pămîntul degeaba?`

⁸And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:

⁸,Doamne`, i -a răspuns vierul, ,mai lasă -l şi anul acesta; am să -l sap de jur împrejur, şi am să -i pun gunoi la rădăcină.

⁹And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

⁹Poate că deacum înainte va face roadă; dacă nu, îl vei tăia.``

¹⁰And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.

¹⁰Isus învăţa pe norod într'o sinagogă în ziua Sabatului.

¹¹And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

¹¹Şi acolo era o femeie stăpînită de optsprezece ani de un duh de neputinţă; era gîrbovă, şi nu putea nicidecum să-şi îndrepte spatele.

¹²And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.

¹²Cînd a văzut -o Isus, a chemat -o, şi i -a zis: ,,Femeie, eşti deslegată de neputinţa ta.``

¹³And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

¹³Şi -a întins mînile peste ea: îndată s'a îndreptat, şi slăvea pe Dumnezeu.

¹⁴And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

¹⁴Dar fruntaşul sinagogii, mîniat că Isus săvîrşise vindecarea aceasta în ziua Sabatului, a luat cuvîntul, şi a zis norodului: ,,Sînt şase zile în cari trebuie să lucreze omul; veniţi dar în aceste zile să vă vindecaţi, şi nu în ziua Sabatului!``

¹⁵The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

¹⁵,,Făţarnicilor``, i -a răspuns Domnul; ,,oare în ziua Sabatului nu-şi desleagă fiecare din voi boul sau măgarul dela iesle, şi -l duce de -l adapă?

¹⁶And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

¹⁶Dar femeia aceasta, care este o fiică a lui Avraam, şi pe care Satana o ţinea legată de optsprezece ani, nu trebuia oare să fie deslegată de legătura aceasta în ziua Sabatului?``

¹⁷And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

¹⁷Pe cînd vorbea El astfel, toţi protivnicii Lui au rămas ruşinaţi; şi norodul se bucura de toate lucrurile minunate, pe cari le făcea El.

¹⁸Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?

¹⁸El a mai zis: ,,Cu ce se aseamănă Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu, şi cu ce o voi asemăna?

¹⁹It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.

¹⁹Se aseamănă cu un grăunte de muştar, pe care l -a luat un om, şi l -a aruncat în grădina sa; el a crescut, s'a făcut copac mare, şi păsările cerului şi-au făcut cuiburi în ramurile lui.``

²⁰And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?

²⁰El a zis iarăş: ,,Cu ce voi asemăna Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu?

²¹It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

²¹Se aseamănă cu aluatul, pe care l -a luat o femeie şi l -a pus în trei măsuri de făină, pînă s'a dospit toată.``

²²And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.

²²Isus umbla prin cetăţi şi prin sate, învăţînd pe norod, şi călătorind spre Ierusalim.

²³Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,

²³Cineva I -a zis: ,,Doamne, oare puţini sînt ceice sînt pe calea mîntuirii?`` El le -a răspuns:

²⁴Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

²⁴,,Nevoiţi-vă să intraţi pe uşa cea strîmtă. Căci vă spun, că mulţi vor căuta să intre, şi nu vor putea.

²⁵When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

²⁵Odată ce Stăpînul casei Se va scula şi va încuia uşa, şi voi veţi fi afară, şi veţi începe să bateţi la uşă, şi să ziceţi: ,Doamne, Doamne, deschide-ne!` drept răspuns, El vă va zice: ,Nu ştiu de unde sînteţi.`

²⁶Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

²⁶Atunci veţi începe să ziceţi: ,Noi am mîncat şi am băut în faţa Ta, şi în uliţele noastre ai învăţat pe norod.`

²⁷But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

²⁷Şi El va răspunde: ,Vă spun că nu ştiu de unde sînteţi; depărtaţi-vă dela Mine, voi toţi lucrătorii fărădelegii.`

²⁸There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

²⁸Va fi plînsul şi scrîşnirea dinţilor, cînd veţi vedea pe Avraam, pe Isaac şi pe Iacov, şi pe toţi proorocii în Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu, iar pe voi scoşi afară.

²⁹And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.

²⁹Vor veni dela răsărit şi dela apus, dela miazănoapte şi dela miază-zi, şi vor şedea la masă în Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu.

³⁰And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

³⁰Şi iată că sînt unii din cei de pe urmă, cari vor fi cei dintîi, şi sînt unii din cei dintîi, cari vor fi cei de pe urmă.``

³¹The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.

³¹În aceeaş zi, au venit cîţiva Farisei, şi I-au zis: ,,Pleacă, şi du-Te de aici, căci Irod vrea să Te omoare.``

³²And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

³²,,Duceţi-vă``, le -a răspuns El, ,,şi spuneţi vulpii aceleia: ,Iată că scot dracii, şi săvîrşesc vindecări astăzi şi mîne, iar a treia zi voi isprăvi.

³³Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

³³Dar trebuie să umblu astăzi, mîne şi poimîne, fiindcă nu se poate ca un prooroc să piară afară din Ierusalim.

³⁴O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

³⁴Ierusalime, Ierusalime, care omori pe prooroci şi ucizi cu pietre pe cei trimeşi la tine; de cîte ori am vrut să strîng pe fiii tăi, cum îşi strînge găina puii supt aripi, şi n'aţi vrut!

³⁵Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

³⁵Iată că vi se va lăsa casa pustie; dar vă spun că nu Mă veţi mai vedea, pînă veţi zice: ,Binecuvîntat este Celce vine în Numele Domnului!``
