¹Elihu spake moreover, and said,

¹A ešte odpovedal Elíhu a riekol:

²Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?

²Či to považuješ za súd? Hovoríš: Moja spravedlivosť je nad silného Boha.

³For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?

³Lebo hovoríš: Čo ti to prospeje? Čo mi to pomôže viac, ako keď budem hrešiť?

⁴I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.

⁴Ja ti dám odpoveď i tvojim priateľom s tebou.

⁵Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.

⁵Pozri na nebesia a vidz a pozoruj oblaky! Sú vyššie ako ty.

⁶If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?

⁶Ak budeš hrešiť, čo mu tým urobíš? A jestli bude mnoho tvojich prestúpení, čo mu učiníš?

⁷If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?

⁷Ak budeš spravedlivý, čo mu tým dáš? Alebo čo vezme z tvojej ruky?

⁸Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.

⁸Tvoja bezbožnosť uškodí človekovi jako si ty, a tvoja spravedlivosť prospeje synovi človeka.

⁹By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.

⁹Kričia pre množstvo útisku; volajú o pomoc pre tvrdé rameno mnohí.

¹⁰But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;

¹⁰Ale človek nepovie: Kde je Bôh, ktorý ma učinil, ktorý dáva piesne vnoci,

¹¹Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?

¹¹ktorý nás vyučuje, aby sme boli rozumnejší ako hovädá zeme, a činí nás múdrejších ako vtáctvo nebies?

¹²There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.

¹²Tam potom kričia, ale sa neohlasuje, pre pýchu zlých ľudí.

¹³Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.

¹³Isté je, že silný Bôh nepočuje márnosti, ani Všemohúci nebude hľadieť na to.

¹⁴Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.

¹⁴A čo ešte, keď hovoríš: Neuvidíš ho. - Súd je pred ním. Očakávaj na neho!

¹⁵But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:

¹⁵Ale teraz istotne navštívi jeho hnev ničotu, a on nepozná nijakej prílišnej spupnosti.

¹⁶Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.

¹⁶A Job otvára svoje ústa na márnosť a množí svoje slová bez známosti.
