³They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

³od tých, ktorí myslia zlé v srdci; každý deň vyvolávajú vojny.

⁴Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

⁴Ostria svoj jazyk ako had; vreteničí jed pod ich gambami. Sélah.

⁵The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

⁵Ostríhaj ma, Hospodine, a zachovaj od rúk bezbožníka! Uchovaj ma od muža ukrutností, od tých, ktorí myslia vyraziť moje kroky.

⁶I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.

⁶Pyšní mi ukryli osídlo i povrazy; roztiahli sieť vedľa cesty; predložili mi smečky. Sélah.

⁷O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

⁷Povedal som Hospodinovi: Ty si môj silný Bôh. Počuj, Hospodine, hlas mojich pokorných prosieb.

⁸Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

⁸Hospodine, Pane, silo môjho spasenia, kryješ moju hlavu v deň zbrane.

⁹As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

⁹Nedaj, Hospodine, žiadostí bezbožníka; nedaj vykonať jeho zámer; povýšili by sa. Sélah.

¹⁰Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

¹⁰Úhrnom čo do tých, ktorí ma obkľučujú, nech ich pokryje trápenie ich rtov!

¹¹Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

¹¹Nech sa shrnie na nich žeravé uhlie; nech ich uvrhne Bôh do ohňa, do hlbokých jam, aby nepovstali.

¹²I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

¹²Človek zlého jazyka nebude stáť pevne v zemi; ukrutného človeka bude stíhať zlé jako lovec, aby padol.

¹³Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

¹³Viem, že Hospodin vykoná pravotu biedneho a súd chudobných.

¹⁴No, spravedliví budú istotne oslavovať tvoje meno, Hospodine, a priami budú bývať pred tvojou tvárou.
