1Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
1Posnemalci moji bodite, kakor sem tudi jaz Kristusov.
2Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
2Hvalim vas pa, bratje, da se v vsem mene spominjate in se držite zapovedi, kakor sem vam jih izročil.
3But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
3Hočem pa, da veste, da je vsakemu možu glava Kristus, a glava ženi mož, glava pa Kristusu Bog.
4Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
4Vsak mož, ki moli ali prorokuje s pokrito glavo, sramoti svojo glavo.
5But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
5Vsaka žena pa, ki moli ali prorokuje razoglava, sramoti svojo glavo; zakaj to je toliko, kakor bi bila ostrižena.
6For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
6Kajti če se ne pokriva žena, naj se tudi striže; če je pa sramota za ženo striči se ali briti, naj se pokriva.
7For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
7Možu namreč ni treba pokrivati glave, ker je podoba in slava Božja; a žena je slava moževa.
8For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.
8Zakaj mož ni od žene, temuč žena od moža;
9Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
9saj tudi ni ustvarjen mož za voljo žene, temuč žena za voljo moža.
10For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
10Zato mora imeti žena znamenje moževe oblasti na glavi za voljo angelov.
11Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
11Sicer pa ni ne mož brez žene, ne žena brez moža v Gospodu.
12For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.
12Kajti kakor je žena od moža, tako je tudi mož po ženi, a vse je iz Boga.
13Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
13Sami pri sebi presodite, je li spodobno za ženo, da razoglava moli k Bogu.
14Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
14Ali vas ne uči sama narava, da je možu v sramoto, če si goji dolge lase?
15But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
15a ženi, če si goji dolge lase, da je čast? ker so ji lasje dani za pokrivalo.
16But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
16Če se pa komu zdi, da se mora prepirati: mi te navade nimamo, tudi cerkve Božje ne.
17Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
17Ko pa to naročam, ne hvalim, da se ne na boljše, temuč na hujše shajate.
18For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
18Kajti prvič, kadar se shajate v zboru, slišim da so razpori med vami, in nekoliko verjamem to.
19For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
19Zakaj potrebno je, da so tudi krivoverstva [Ali: stranke, ločine.] med vami, da se pokažejo med vami, kateri so v veri izkušeni.
20When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.
20Ko se torej shajate na en kraj, to ni Gospodovo večerjo jesti;
21For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
21kajti ob vaši skupni jedi užije vsak svojo večerjo poprej, in tako je eden lačen, a drugi se opija.
22What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.
22Nimate li mar hiš, da v njih jeste in pijete? Ali pa zaničujete zbor Božji in sramotite tiste, ki nimajo ničesar? Kaj naj vam rečem? naj vas hvalim? Vtem ne hvalim.
23For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
23Zakaj jaz sem prejel od Gospoda, kar sem tudi vam izročil: da je Gospod Jezus tisto noč, v kateri je bil izdan, vzel kruh
24And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
24in, zahvalivši se, ga je prelomil in rekel: Vzemite, jejte: to je moje telo, ki je za vas; to delajte v moj spomin.
25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
25Tako tudi kelih po večerji, rekoč: Ta kelih je nova zaveza v moji krvi; to delajte, kolikorkolikrat pijete, v moj spomin.
26For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
26Kajti kolikorkolikrat jeste ta kruh in pijete ta kelih, oznanjujete smrt Gospodovo, dokler ne pride.
27Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
27Zatorej kdor jé ta kruh in pije kelih Gospodov nevredno, kriv bo telesa in krvi Gospodove.
28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
28Ali človek naj izkuša sam sebe in tako naj jé od kruha in pije od keliha;
29For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
29zakaj kdor jé in pije nevredno, jé in pije sebi sodbo, ker ne razločuje telesa Gospodovega.
30For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
30Zato so mnogi med vami slabi in bolni in dosti jih spi.
31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
31Ko bi pa mi sami sebe razsojali, ne bi bili sojeni.
32But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
32Ko smo pa sojeni, nas strahuje Gospod, da ne bi bili s svetom obsojeni.
33Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
33Tako, bratje moji, ko se shajate k jedi, čakajte drug drugega.Je li pa kdo lačen, jej doma, da bi se ne shajali na obsojenje. Drugo pa uredim, kadar pridem.
34And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
