¹Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

¹Spominjam vas pa, bratje, evangelija, ki sem vam ga oznanil, ki ste ga tudi sprejeli, ki v njem tudi stojite,

²By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

²ki se po njem tudi zveličujete, ako hranite besedo, kakor sem vam jo oznanil, če le niste zaman verovali.

³For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

³Izročil sem vam namreč najprej to, kar sem tudi prejel:

⁴And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

⁴da je Kristus umrl za naše grehe po pismih, in da je bil pokopan in da je bil tretji dan obujen po pismih,

⁵And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

⁵in da se je prikazal Kefu, potem dvanajsterim.

⁶After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

⁶Potem se je prikazal nad petsto bratom naenkrat, katerih večina še sedaj živi, nekaj jih je pa že pozaspalo.

⁷After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

⁷Potem se je prikazal Jakobu, potem vsem apostolom.

⁸And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

⁸In izmed vseh najnazadnje, kakor kakemu negodno rojenemu, se je prikazal tudi meni.

⁹For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

⁹Kajti jaz sem najmanjši izmed apostolov, ki nisem vreden imenovan biti apostol, ker sem preganjal cerkev Božjo;

¹⁰But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

¹⁰ali po milosti Božji sem, kar sem, in njegova milost, ki mi jo je podelil, ni bila brezuspešna, marveč deloval sem bolj od njih vseh, toda ne jaz, ampak milost Božja, ki je z menoj.

¹¹Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

¹¹Bodisi torej jaz ali oni, tako oznanjujemo in tako ste sprejeli vero.

¹²Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

¹²Če se pa oznanjuje, da je Kristus iz mrtvih vstal, kako pravijo nekateri med vami, da ni vstajenja mrtvih?

¹³But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:

¹³Če pa ni vstajenja mrtvih, tudi Kristus ni vstal.

¹⁴And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

¹⁴A če Kristus ni vstal, prazno je potem naše oznanjevanje, prazna pa tudi vera vaša.

¹⁵Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.

¹⁵Kažemo se pa tudi lažnive priče Božje, ker smo popričali zoper Boga, da je obudil Kristusa, ki ga pa ni obudil, če mrtvi ne vstajajo.

¹⁶For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:

¹⁶Kajti če mrtvi ne vstajajo, tudi Kristus ni vstal.

¹⁷And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

¹⁷A če Kristus ni vstal, ničeva je vera vaša, še ste v grehih svojih.

¹⁸Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

¹⁸Potemtakem so tudi ti, ki so v Kristusu zaspali, izgubljeni.

¹⁹If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

¹⁹Če upamo v Kristusa samo v tem življenju, smo vredni pomilovanja najbolj izmed vseh ljudi.

²⁰But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

²⁰Res pa je Kristus vstal iz mrtvih, prvina tistih, ki so pozaspali.

²¹For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

²¹Zakaj ker je po človeku prišla smrt, je po človeku prišlo tudi vstajenje mrtvih.

²²For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

²²Kakor namreč v Adamu vsi mrjo, tako bodo tudi v Kristusu vsi oživeli.

²³But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

²³Ali vsak v svojem redu: prvina Kristus; potem ti, kateri so Kristusovi, ob prihodu njegovem;

²⁴Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

²⁴potem pride konec, kadar on izroči kraljestvo Bogu in Očetu, kadar odpravi vsako poglavarstvo in vsako oblast in moč.

²⁵For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

²⁵Kajti on mora kraljevati dotlej, dokler Bog ne dene vseh sovražnikov pod njegove noge.

²⁶The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

²⁶A najzadnji sovražnik, ki se odpravi, je smrt.

²⁷For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.

²⁷Vse je namreč položil pod njegove noge. Toda ko pravi: „Vse je podloženo“, je očitno, da vse razen tega, ki mu je vse podložil.

²⁸And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

²⁸Kadar se pa vse njemu podloži, tedaj se tudi sam Sin podloži temu, ki mu je vse podložil, da bi Bog bil vse v vsem.

²⁹Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?

²⁹Sicer pa kaj bodo počeli, kateri se krščujejo za mrtve? Če sploh mrtvi ne vstajajo, kaj se še krščujejo zanje?

³⁰And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?

³⁰Zakaj se tudi mi nevarnostim izpostavljamo vsako uro?

³¹I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

³¹Pričam pri hvali zastran vas, bratje, ki jo imam v Kristusu Jezusu, Gospodu našem: vsak dan umiram.

³²If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.

³²Če sem se po človeško boril z zvermi v Efezu, kakšno imam korist? Če mrtvi ne vstajajo, „jejmo in pijmo, kajti jutri umremo!“

³³Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

³³Ne dajte se zavesti! Dobre navade pačijo slabi pogovori.

³⁴Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

³⁴Predramite se pravično in ne grešite! kajti spoznanja Božjega nekateri nimajo, na sramoto vam to pravim.

³⁵But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?

³⁵Toda poreče kdo: Kako vstajajo mrtvi? in v kakšnem telesu prihajajo?

³⁶Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:

³⁶Nespametnež, kar ti seješ, ne oživi, če ni prej umrlo.

³⁷And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:

³⁷In kar seješ, ne seješ telesa, katero ima biti, temuč golo zrno, postavim, pšenično ali katero drugo;

³⁸But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.

³⁸a Bog mu daje telo, kakor hoče, in vsakemu semenu lastno mu telo.

³⁹All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

³⁹Ni vse meso enako meso, temuč drugo je meso človečje, drugo meso živinsko, drugo ptičje in drugo ribje.

⁴⁰There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

⁴⁰So tudi telesa nebeška in telesa zemeljska, toda druga je slava nebeških, a druga zemeljskih.

⁴¹There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

⁴¹Druga je slava solnca in druga slava meseca in druga slava zvezd, kajti zvezda se od zvezde loči v slavi.

⁴²So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

⁴²Tako tudi je vstajenje mrtvih. Seje se v trohljivosti, vstaja v netrohljivosti;

⁴³It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

⁴³seje se v nečasti, vstaja v slavi; seje se v slabosti, vstaja v moči;

⁴⁴It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

⁴⁴seje se telo naravno, vstaja telo duhovno. Če je naravno telo, je tudi duhovno telo.

⁴⁵And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

⁴⁵Tako je tudi pisano: „Postal je prvi človek Adam duša živa“. Zadnji Adam je postal duh oživljajoč.

⁴⁶Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

⁴⁶Ali ni prvo duhovno, ampak naravno, potem duhovno.

⁴⁷The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.

⁴⁷Prvi človek je iz zemlje, prstén, drugi človek je iz nebes.

⁴⁸As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

⁴⁸Kakršen je prsteni, taki so prsteni, in kakršen nebeški, taki so nebeški.

⁴⁹And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

⁴⁹In kakor smo nosili podobo prstenega, nosili bomo tudi podobo nebeškega.

⁵⁰Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

⁵⁰To pa pravim, bratje, da meso in kri ne moreta podedovati Božjega kraljestva, tudi trohljivost ne deduje netrohljivosti.

⁵¹Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

⁵¹Glejte, skrivnost vam govorim: Vsi ne zaspimo, a vsi se izpremenimo

⁵²In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

⁵²v hipu, v trenutku, ob poslednji trobenti; kajti trobenta zatrobi in mrtvi vstanejo netrohljivi, in mi se izpremenimo.

⁵³For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

⁵³To trohljivo mora namreč obleči netrohljivost in to smrtno obleči nesmrtnost.

⁵⁴So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

⁵⁴Kadar pa to trohljivo obleče netrohljivost in to smrtno obleče nesmrtnost, tedaj se zgodi tista beseda, ki je napisana: „Požrta je smrt v zmagi“.

⁵⁵O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

⁵⁵Kje je, smrt, tvoja zmaga? Kje je, smrt, tvoje želo?

⁵⁶The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

⁵⁶Želo smrti pa je greh, a moč greha je postava.

⁵⁷But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁵⁷Ali hvala Bogu, ki nam daje zmago po Gospodu našem Jezusu Kristusu.Zato, bratje moji ljubljeni, bodite stanovitni, nepremični, obilni vsekdar v delu Gospodovem, vedoč, da vaš trud ni prazen v Gospodu.

⁵⁸Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

⁵⁸Zato, bratje moji ljubljeni, bodite stanovitni, nepremični, obilni vsekdar v delu Gospodovem, vedoč, da vaš trud ni prazen v Gospodu.
