Job

40

1Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
1In GOSPOD odgovori Jobu in reče:
2Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
2Pravdal se li bo grajač z Vsemogočnim? Kdor svari Boga, odgovóri na to!
3Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
3In Job odgovori GOSPODU in reče:
4Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
4Glej, premajhen sem, kaj naj odgovorim? Roko denem na usta svoja.
5Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
5Enkrat sem govoril, pa nočem izpregovoriti več, da, dvakrat, a ne bom zopet.
6Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
6Tedaj odgovori GOSPOD Jobu iz viharja in reče:
7Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
7Opaši, pravim, kakor mož ledja svoja; jaz te bom vprašal, in ti me pouči!
8Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
8Hočeš li celó ovreči mojo pravico, mene li obsoditi, da bodeš ti pravičen?
9Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
9Ali pa imaš ramo kakor Bog mogočni in moreš grmeti z glasom kakor on?
10Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
10Odeni se torej z močjo in visokostjo in obleci diko in veličastvo!
11Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
11Izlij reke jeze svoje, in poglej vsakega ošabneža in ga ponižaj!
12Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
12Poglej vsakega ošabneža in ga potlači, in pogazi brezbožnike na njih mestu!
13Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
13Skrij jih v prah vse vkup, njih obličja zakleni v skritost!
14Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
14Potem bom tudi jaz te hvalil, da te more rešiti desnica tvoja!
15Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
15Glej vendar behemota [Domnevno: povodni konj.], ki sem ga storil kakor tebe: travo muli kakor vol.
16Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
16Glej, pravim, moč svojo ima v ledjih in silo svojo v kitah podtrebušnih.
17He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
17Pregiblje rep kakor cedro, kite na bedru so mu gosto spletene.
18His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
18Kosti njegove so kakor piščali brončene, rebra njegova kakor palice železne.
19He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
19On je prvina tvornosti Boga mogočnega; On, ki ga je naredil, mu je oskrbel meč njegov.
20Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
20Kajti krmo mu prinašajo gore, koder se igrajo vse divje zveri.
21He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
21Pod lotosovo drevje leže počivat, v skrivališča trstja in močvirja;
22The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
22lotosovo drevje ga pokriva s senco svojo, vrbje ob potoku ga obdaja.
23Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
23Glej, reka močno narašča – ne zbeži plašno, dobre volje je, če pridere Jordan do žrela njegovega!Ulove ga njemu pred očmi, prevrta mu li kdo nas z lovilnimi vrvmi?
24He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
24Ulove ga njemu pred očmi, prevrta mu li kdo nas z lovilnimi vrvmi?
