¹How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!

²My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

²Duša moja hrepeni in koprni po vežah GOSPODOVIH, srce moje in meso moje radostno kličeta v hrepenenju po živem Bogu mogočnem.

³Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.

³Saj vrabec je našel dom in lastovka si gnezdo, kamor položi mladiče svoje – oltarje tvoje, o GOSPOD nad vojskami, kralj moj in Bog moj!

⁴Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

⁴Blagor jim, ki prebivajo v hiši tvoji, vedno te bodo hvalili. (Sela.)

⁵Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

⁵Blagor človeku, čigar moč je v tebi: njim so v srcu pripravljene poti na Sion.

⁶Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

⁶Gredé po Solzni dolini, si jo obračajo v kraj studencev; saj tudi rani dež jo pokriva z blagoslovi.

⁷They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.

⁷Gredo od kreposti do kreposti, vsak njih se prikaže pred Bogom na Sionu.

⁸O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

⁸GOSPOD, Bog nad vojskami, čuj molitev mojo, poslušaj, o Bog Jakobov. (Sela.)

⁹Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

⁹Poglej, o Bog, ki si ščit naš, in glej maziljenca svojega obličje!

¹⁰For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

¹⁰Kajti boljši je en dan v vežah tvojih nego tisoč drugje; rajši hočem stati ob pragu v hiši Boga svojega nego prebivati v brezbožnosti šatorih.

¹¹For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

¹¹Zakaj solnce in ščit je GOSPOD, Bog, milost in slavo daje GOSPOD, dobrega ne krati njim, ki hodijo v popolnosti.GOSPOD nad vojskami, blagor človeku, čigar upanje je v tebe!
