¹Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

¹Ker smo torej opravičeni po veri, imamo mir z Bogom po Gospodu našem Jezusu Kristusu,

²By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

²po katerem smo tudi dobili v veri pristop v to milost, ki stojimo v njej, in hvalimo se z upanjem slave Božje.

³And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

³Pa ne samo to, temuč hvalimo se tudi v stiskah, vedoč, da stiska rodi potrpežljivost,

⁴And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

⁴a potrpežljivost izkušenost, izkušenost pa upanje;

⁵And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

⁵a upanje ne osramočuje, ker je ljubezen Božja izlita v srcih naših po svetem Duhu, ki nam je dan.

⁶For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

⁶Kajti Kristus je svoj čas, ko smo mi bili še slabi, umrl za brezbožne;

⁷For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

⁷saj težko da umre kdo za pravičnega, dasi se za dobrega morda kdo odloči umreti.

⁸But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

⁸Dokazuje pa Bog svojo ljubezen do nas s tem, da je Kristus umrl za nas, ko smo bili še grešniki.

⁹Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

⁹Koliko bolj bomo torej, ko smo zdaj opravičeni v krvi njegovi, po njem rešeni jeze božje.

¹⁰For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

¹⁰Kajti če smo bili spravljeni z Bogom s smrtjo njegovega Sina, ko smo bili še sovražniki, tem bolj bomo zdaj, ko smo spravljeni, zveličani po življenju njegovem.

¹¹And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

¹¹Pa ne samo to, marveč hvalimo se tudi z Bogom po Gospodu svojem Jezusu Kristusu, po katerem smo sedaj dobili spravo.

¹²Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

¹²Zatorej, kakor je po enem človeku prišel greh na svet in po grehu smrt, in je tako na vse ljudi prišla smrt, zato ker so vsi grešili –;

¹³(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

¹³kajti greh je bil že pred postavo na svetu, toda greh se ne računi, dokler ni postave.

¹⁴Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

¹⁴Vendar pa je kraljevala smrt od Adama do Mojzesa tudi nad temi, ki niso grešili enako kakor Adam v svojem prestopku; Adam pa je podoba tega, ki je imel priti.

¹⁵But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

¹⁵Ni pa prav enako z darom milosti kakor s pregreho: zakaj če so po pregrehi enega umrli mnogi, veliko bolj se je za mnoge pomnožila milost Božja in dar po milosti enega človeka, Jezusa Kristusa.

¹⁶And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

¹⁶In z darom ni kakor z obsodbo po enem, ki se je pregrešil: zakaj sodba je prišla iz enega v pogubljenje, dar milosti pa vodi iz mnogih pregreh v opravičenje.

¹⁷For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

¹⁷Kajti če je po pregrehi enega smrt kraljevala po tem enem, veliko bolj bodo tisti, ki prejemajo obilost milosti in dar pravičnosti, v življenju kraljevali po enem, Jezusu Kristusu.

¹⁸Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

¹⁸Kakor je torej po pregrehi enega prišla obsodba na vse ljudi, tako je tudi po pravičnem delu enega prišlo na vse ljudi opravičenje življenja.

¹⁹For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

¹⁹Kajti kakor so po neposlušnosti enega človeka grešni postali mnogi, tako bodo tudi po poslušnosti enega pravični postali mnogi.

²⁰Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

²⁰A postava je pristopila zraven, da se pomnoži pregreha. Kjer pa se je pomnožil greh, tam se je še veliko bolj pomnožila milost,da bi tako, kakor je greh kraljeval v smrti, kraljevala tudi milost po pravičnosti za večno življenje po Jezusu Kristusu, Gospodu našem.

²¹That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

²¹da bi tako, kakor je greh kraljeval v smrti, kraljevala tudi milost po pravičnosti za večno življenje po Jezusu Kristusu, Gospodu našem.
