¹Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

¹¿NO clama la sabiduría, Y da su voz la inteligencia?

²She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.

²En los altos cabezos, junto al camino, A las encrucijadas de las veredas se para;

³She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.

³En el lugar de las puertas, á la entrada de la ciudad, A la entrada de las puertas da voces:

⁴Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.

⁴Oh hombres, á vosotros clamo; Y mi voz es á los hijos de los hombres.

⁵O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

⁵Entended, simples, discreción; Y vosotros, locos, entrad en cordura.

⁶Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.

⁶Oid, porque hablaré cosas excelentes; Y abriré mis labios para cosas rectas.

⁷For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

⁷Porque mi boca hablará verdad, Y la impiedad abominan mis labios.

⁸All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.

⁸En justicia son todas las razones de mi boca; No hay en ellas cosa perversa ni torcida.

⁹They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

⁹Todas ellas son rectas al que entiende, Y razonables á los que han hallado sabiduría.

¹⁰Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

¹⁰Recibid mi enseñanza, y no plata; Y ciencia antes que el oro escogido.

¹¹For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

¹¹Porque mejor es la sabiduría que las piedras preciosas; Y todas las cosas que se pueden desear, no son de comparar con ella.

¹²I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

¹²Yo, la sabiduría, habito con la discreción, Y hallo la ciencia de los consejos.

¹³The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

¹³El temor de Jehová es aborrecer el mal; La soberbia y la arrogancia, y el mal camino Y la boca perversa, aborrezco.

¹⁴Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

¹⁴Conmigo está el consejo y el ser; Yo soy la inteligencia; mía es la fortaleza.

¹⁵By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

¹⁵Por mí reinan los reyes, Y los príncipes determinan justicia.

¹⁶By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.

¹⁶Por mí dominan los príncipes, Y todos los gobernadores juzgan la tierra.

¹⁷I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

¹⁷Yo amo á los que me aman; Y me hallan los que madrugando me buscan.

¹⁸Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

¹⁸Las riquezas y la honra están conmigo; Sólidas riquezas, y justicia.

¹⁹My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.

¹⁹Mejor es mi fruto que el oro, y que el oro refinado; Y mi rédito mejor que la plata escogida.

²⁰I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

²⁰Por vereda de justicia guiaré, Por en medio de sendas de juicio;

²¹That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.

²¹Para hacer heredar á mis amigos el ser, Y que yo hincha sus tesoros.

²²The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

²²Jehová me poseía en el principio de su camino, Ya de antiguo, antes de sus obras.

²³I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

²³Eternalmente tuve el principado, desde el principio, Antes de la tierra.

²⁴When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

²⁴Antes de los abismos fuí engendrada; Antes que fuesen las fuentes de las muchas aguas.

²⁵Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

²⁵Antes que los montes fuesen fundados, Antes de los collados, era yo engendrada:

²⁶While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

²⁶No había aún hecho la tierra, ni las campiñas, Ni el principio del polvo del mundo.

²⁷When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

²⁷Cuando formaba los cielos, allí estaba yo; Cuando señalaba por compás la sobrefaz del abismo;

²⁸When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:

²⁸Cuando afirmaba los cielos arriba, Cuando afirmaba las fuentes del abismo;

²⁹When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

²⁹Cuando ponía á la mar su estatuto, Y á las aguas, que no pasasen su mandamiento; Cuando establecía los fundamentos de la tierra;

³⁰Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

³⁰Con él estaba yo ordenándolo todo; Y fuí su delicia todos los días, Teniendo solaz delante de él en todo tiempo.

³¹Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

³¹Huélgome en la parte habitable de su tierra; Y mis delicias son con los hijos de los hombres.

³²Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

³²Ahora pues, hijos, oidme: Y bienaventurados los que guardaren mis caminos.

³³Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

³³Atended el consejo, y sed sabios, Y no lo menospreciéis.

³⁴Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

³⁴Bienaventurado el hombre que me oye, Velando á mis puertas cada día, Guardando los umbrales de mis entradas.

³⁵For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

³⁵Porque el que me hallare, hallará la vida, Y alcanzará el favor de Jehová.

³⁶But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

³⁶Mas el que peca contra mí, defrauda su alma: Todos los que me aborrecen, aman la muerte.
