¹Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

¹ЭЙ маҳбубон! Ба ҳар рӯҳ зътимод накунед, балки рӯҳҳоро имтиҳон кунед, ки оё аз Худо ҳастанд, чунки бисьёр анбиёи козиб ба сар то сари дуньё рафтаанд.

²Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

²Рӯҳи Худоро шумо ин тавр хоҳед шиноҳт: ҳар рӯҳе ки зътироф кунад, ки Исои Масеҳ ба ҳасби ҷисм омад, аз Худост,

³And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

³Ва ҳар рӯҳе ки инкор кунад, ки Исои Масеҳ ба ҳасби ҷисм омад, аз Худо нест, балки рӯҳи зиддимасеҳ аст, ки дар бораи он шумо шунидаед, ки он меояд, ва он акнун дар ҷаҳон аст.

⁴Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

⁴Шумо, эй фарзандон, аз Худо ҳастед, ва онҳоро маглуб кардаед, зеро Ӯ, ки дар шумост, аз он ки дар ҷаҳон аст, бузургтар аст.

⁵They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

⁵Онҳо аз ҷаҳон ҳастанд, бинобар ин онҳо ба таври дуньёӣ сухан меронанд, ва ҷаҳон онҳоро мешунавад.

⁶We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

⁶Мо аз Худо ҳастем: ҳар кӣ Худоро мешиносад, ба мо гӯш медиҳад; касе ки аз Худо нест, ба мо гӯш намедиҳад. Аз рӯи ҳамин мо рӯҳи ростӣ ва рӯҳи иштибоҳро мешиносем.

⁷Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

⁷Эймаҳбубон! Якдигарро дӯст бидорем, чунки муҳаббат аз Худост, ва ҳар кӣ дӯст медорад, аз Худо таваллуд ёфтааст ва Худоро мешиносад.

⁸He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

⁸Касе ки дӯст намедорад, вай Худоро нашинохтааст, чунки Худо муҳаббат аст.

⁹In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

⁹Муҳаббати Худо ба мо дар он зоҳир шуд, ки Худо Писари ягонаи Худро ба ҷаҳон фиристод, то ки мо ба воситаи Ӯ ҳаёт ёбем.

¹⁰Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

¹⁰Муҳаббат дар ин аст, ки на мо Худоро дӯсг доштаем, балки Ӯ моро дӯст дошт ва Писари Худро барои кафорати гуноҳҳои мо фиристод.

¹¹Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

¹¹Эй маҳбубон! Агар Худоморо ин гуна дӯст дошта бошад, мо низ бояд якдигарро дӯст бидорем.

¹²No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

¹²Худоро ҳаргиз касе надидааст: агар мо якдигарро дӯст дорем, Худо дар мо сокин аст, ва муҳаббати Ӯ дар мо комил аст.

¹³Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

¹³Ин ки мо дар Ӯ сокин ҳастем ва Ӯ дар мо, аз он мешиносем, ки Ӯ аз Рӯҳи Худ ба мо ато намудааст.

¹⁴And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

¹⁴Ва мо дидаем ва шаҳодат медиҳем, ки Падар Писарро фиристод, то ки Наҷотдиҳандаи ҷаҳон гардад.

¹⁵Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

¹⁵Ҳар кӣ эътироф мекунад, ки Исо Писари Худост, Худо дар Ӯ сокин аст, ва Ӯ дар Худо.

¹⁶And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

¹⁶Ва мо муҳаббатеро, ки Худо ба мо дорад, медонем ва ба он эътимод дорем. Худо муҳаббат аст,ваҳар кй дармуҳаббат сокин аст, вай дар Худо сокин аст, ва Худо дар вай.

¹⁷Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

¹⁷Муҳаббат дар мо чунон ба камол расидааст, ки мо дар рӯзи доварӣ ҷуръат дорем, зеро, чунон ки Ӯ дар ин ҷаҳон ҳаст, ончунон мо ҳастем.

¹⁸There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

¹⁸Дар муҳаббат ҳаросе нест, балки муҳаббати комил ҳаросро бадар меронад, чунки ҳарос азоб дорад, ва касе ки меҳаросад, дар муҳаббат комил нест.

¹⁹We love him, because he first loved us.

¹⁹Мо Ӯро дӯст медорем, чунки аввалӮморо дӯст дошт.

²⁰If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

²⁰Агар касе гӯяд, ки "ман Худоро дӯст медорам", вале аз бародари худ нафрат кунад, вай дурӯғгӯй аст; зеро касе ки бародари худро, ки дидааст, дӯст намедорад, чӣ гуна метавонад Худоро, ки надидааст, дӯст бидорад?

²¹And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

²¹Ва мо аз Ӯчунин ҳукме дорем, ки ҳар кӣ Худоро дӯст медорад, бародари худро низ дӯст бидорад.
