¹And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

¹ДАР он айём, ки шогирдон зиёд мешуданд, яҳудиёни юнонизабон аз яҳудиёни ибронизабон шикоят карданд, ки бевазанони онҳо дар тақсими ризқи ҳаррӯза бе баҳра мемонанд.

²Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

²Он дувоздаҳ нафар ҷамоати шогирдонро даъват намуда, гуфтанд: «Шоиста нест» ки мо каломи Худоро тарк карда, ба хизмати таъмини ризқу рӯзӣ машғул шавем;

³Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

³«Пас, эй бародарон, ҳафт одами некном ва пур аз Рӯҳулкудс ва пурҳикматро аз миёни ҳуд интихоб намоед, то ки онҳоро ба ин ҳизмат таъин кунем;

⁴But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

⁴«Лекин мо бо дуо ва бо таълими каломи Худо машгул ҳоҳем шуд».

⁵And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

⁵Ин таклиф ба тамоми ҷамоат маъкул шуд, ва Истефанусро, ки шахси пур аз имон ва Рӯҳулкудс буд, ва Филиппус ва Прохорус ва Никонӯр ва Тимӯн ва Парминос ва Николосро, ки аз аҳли Антиёхия буда, чанде пеш дини яҳудиро қабул карда буд, интихоб карданд;

⁶Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

⁶Инҳоро дар назди ҳаввориён ба по хезонданд, ва даст бар сарашон монда, дуо карданд.

⁷And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

⁷Каломи Худо торафт интишор меефт, шумораи шогирдон дар Ерусалим бағоят меафзуд, ва бисьёре аз коҳӣнон низ ба имон тан доданд.

⁸And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

⁸Истефанус, ки пур аз имон ва кувват буд, дар миёни қавм аломоту мӯъҷизоти бузурге ба амал меовард.

⁹Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.

⁹Баъзе касон аз куништи ба ном либартиниён, қуриниён ва искандариён ва аз аҳли Қилиқия ва Осие бо Истефанус баҳсу мунозира карданд,

¹⁰And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

¹⁰Лекин ба он ҳикмат ва Рӯҳе ки дар суҳанонаш буд, ёрои мухолифат надоштанд.

¹¹Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.

¹¹Бинобар ин чанд касро водор карданд, ки бигӯянд: сМо шунидем, ки ӯ дар ҳаққи Мусо ваХудосуханони куфромез мегуфт».

¹²And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,

¹²Дар мнёни қавм ва пирон ва китобдонон шӯр ангехта, ба ӯ ҳуҷум оварданд ва ӯро дастгир карда, ба шурои пирон бурданд.

¹³And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:

¹³Шоҳидони козибро пеш оварданд, ва онҳо гуфтанд: «Ин шахс ҳамеша ба муқобили ин макони муқаддас ва ба муқобили Таврот суханони куфромез мегӯяд;

¹⁴For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.

¹⁴«Зеро шунидем, ки ӯ мегуфт: "Исои Носирй ин маконро хароб хоҳад кард ва русумеро, ки Мусо ба мо супурдааст, тағьир ҳоҳад дод"».

¹⁵And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.

¹⁵Ҳамаи касоне ки дар шӯрои пирон нишаста буданд, бар ӯ назар андохта, диданд» ки чеҳраи ӯ монанди чеҳраи фаришта буд.
