¹Then said the high priest, Are these things so?

¹ОН гоҳ саркоҳин пурснд: «Оё инҳо рост мегӯянд?»

²And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,

²Ба ҷавоб гуфт: «Эй бародарон ва эй падарон, гӯш кунед! Худои Зулҷалол ба падари мо Иброҳим, вакте ки ӯ дар Байнаннаҳрайн буд, яъне пещ аз он ки ба Хоррон муҳоҷират кунад» зоҳир шуд

³And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.

³«Ва ба ӯ гуфт: "Замини худ ва ақрабои худро тарк намо ва сӯи замине ки бату нишон медиҳам, равона шав".

⁴Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.

⁴«Аз замини калдониен берун омада, дар Хрррон маскан гирифт; баъд аз вафоти падараш, Худо ӯро аз он ҷо ба замине ки шумо дар он иқомат доред, кӯчонид

⁵And he gave him none inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child.

⁵«Ва аз он ба андозаи як кафи пой ҳам ба тасарруфи ӯ надод, вале дар ҳамон вақте ки ӯ ҳанӯз фарзанде надошт, ваъда кард, ки ӯро ва баъд аз ӯ наслашро молики он гардонад.

⁶And God spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years.

⁶«Ва Худо ба ӯ гуфт, ки насли ӯ дар замини бегона монанди ғарибон зиндагӣ хоҳанд кард, ва муддати чорсад сол онҳоро дар бандагӣ нигоҳ дошта, азоб хоҳанд дод.

⁷And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God: and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place.

⁷«Аммо Ман", гуфт Худо, "бар он ҳалқе ки онҳоро дар бандагӣ нигоҳ дорад» доварӣ хоҳам кард, ва баъд аз он онҳо берун омада, дар ин макон ба Ман ибодат хоҳанд кард".

⁸And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.

⁸«Ва ахди ҳатнаро ба ӯ дод. Пас аз ин Иброҳим падари Исҳоқ шуда, дар рӯзи ҳащтум ӯро хатна кард; ва Исҳоқ падари Яъқуб ва Яъқуб падари дувоздаҳ сарқабила гардид.

⁹And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,

⁹«Сарқабилаҳо аз Юсуф ҳасад бурда, ӯро ба Миср фурӯҳтанд; Лекин Худо бо ӯ буд

¹⁰And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

¹⁰«Ва ӯро аз ҳамаи мусибатҳояш халосӣ дод, ва ба ӯ ҳикмат ва ҳусни таваҷҷӯҳ дар назари фиръавн подшоҳи Миср бахшид, то ӯро бар Миср ва бар тамоми ҳонаи худ ҳукмфармо таъин кард.

¹¹Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction: and our fathers found no sustenance.

¹¹«Дар тамоми замини Миср ва Канъон қаҳтӣ рӯй дода, боиси кулфати бузурге гардид, ва падарони мо қуте наёфтанд.

¹²But when Jacob heard that there was corn in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first.

¹²«Чун Яъқуб шунид, ки дар Миср ғалла ёфт мешавад, бори аввал падарони моро ба он ҷо фиристод;

¹³And at the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph's kindred was made known unto Pharaoh.

¹³«Дар сафари дуюм Юсуф ҳудро ба бародаронаш шиносонид, ва аслу насаби Юсуф ба фиръавн маълум шуд.

¹⁴Then sent Joseph, and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, threescore and fifteen souls.

¹⁴«Юсуф кас фиристода, падари ҳуд Яъкуб ва тамоми хешу таборашро, ки ҳафтоду панҷ нафар буданд, даъват намуд.

¹⁵So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,

¹⁵«Яъқуб ба Миср омад, ва ҳудаш ва падарони мо вафот ёфтанд;

¹⁶And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem.

¹⁶«Онҳоро ба Шакем бурда, дар мақбарае ки Иброҳим аз банйҲамӯри шакемй ба нукраи худ харида буд, дафн карданд.

¹⁷But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

¹⁷«Баробари наздик омадани вақги ваъдае ки Худо дар бораи он ба Иброҳим қасам ёд карда буд, қавм дар Миср меафзуд ва бузург мешуд,

¹⁸Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.

¹⁸«То даме ки подшоҳи дигаре ба тахт нишаст, ки Юсуфро намешинохт;

¹⁹The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.

¹⁹«Ӯ бар зидди нажоди мо найрангбозӣ карда, падарони моро ба танг овард ва амр фармуд, ки кӯдакони навзоди худро бароварда партоянд, то ки зинда намонанд.

²⁰In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months:

²⁰«Дар он вакт Мусо таваллуд шуд, ки дар наздч Худо бағоят ҷамил буд, ва муддати се моҳ дар ҳонаи падари ҳуд парвариш ёфт;

²¹And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.

²¹«Ҳангоме ки ӯро бароварда партофтанд, дуҳтари фиръавн ӯро гирифта, ҳамчун фарзанди худ калон кард;

²²And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

²²«Мусо тамоми хикмати Мисрро таълим гирифга, дар сухан ва амал қавӣ шуд.

²³And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.

²³«Вақте ки ӯ чиҳилсола шуд, ба дилаш омад, ки бародарони худ, банӣИсроилро тафаққуди ҳол кунад;

²⁴And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:

²⁴«Чун якеро мазлум дид, ӯро ҳимоят кард ва интиқоми он ситамкашро гирифта, мисриро кушт.

²⁵For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.

²⁵«Ӯ гумон мекард, ки бародаронаш ҳоҳанд фаҳмид, ки Худо ба василаи ӯ онҳоро наҷот медиҳад, аммо онҳо нафаҳмнданд.

²⁶And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?

²⁶«Рӯзи дигар назди онҳо омада дид, ки мунокиша мекунанд, ва онҳоро оштӣ доданӣ шуда, гуфт: "Эй мардумон, шумо бародар ҳастед, чаро якдигарро меранҷонед?"

²⁷But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?

²⁷«Вале он касе ки ба ёри ҳуд тааддӣ мекард, ӯро тела дода, гуфт: "Кӣ туро бар мо ҳоким ва қозӣ таъин кардааст?

²⁸Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?

²⁸"Оё меҳоҳӣ маро низ бикушӣ, чунон ки дирӯз он мисриро куштӣ?"

²⁹Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.

²⁹«Мусо, ҳамин ки ин суханонро шунид, гурехта рафт ва дар замини Мидьён ғурбат ихтиёр кард, ва дар он ҷо аз ӯ ду писар таваллуд шуд.

³⁰And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.

³⁰«Чун чиҳил сол гузашт, дар биёбони атрофи кӯҳи Сино фариштаи Худованд дар шӯълаи буттаи фурӯзон ба ӯ зоҳир шуд.

³¹When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the LORD came unto him,

³¹«Мусо, чун дид, аз ин рӯъё дар ҳайрат афтод, ваҳангоме ки наздик меомад, то ки назар андозад, садои Худованд ба гӯшаш расид:

³²Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.

³²«"Ман Худои падарони ту, Худои Иброҳим ва Худои Исҳоқ ва Худои Яъқуб ҳастам". Мусо ба ларза даромада, ҷуръат накард, ки назар андозад.

³³Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.

³³«Худованд ба ӯ гуфт: "Кафшҳоятро аз пойҳоят бикаш, зеро ҷое ки дар он истодаӣ, замини муқаддас аст;

³⁴I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.

³⁴"Ситамеро, ки қавми Ман дар Миср мекашанд, дидаам ва оҳу нолаи онҳоро шунидаам ва барои наҷот додани онҳо фуромадаам; акнун биё, то китуроба Миср бифиристам".

³⁵This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.

³⁵«Ҳамон Мусоро, ки рад карда,гуфта буданд: "Кӣ туро ҳоким ва қозӣ таъин кардааст?", Худо ба василаи фариштае ки дар бутта ба ӯ зоҳир шуд, ҳоким ва раҳокунанда таъин намуда, фиристод;

³⁶He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.

³⁶«Ӯ онҳоро берун оварда, дар давоми чиҳил сол дар замини Миср ва дар баҳри Қулзум ва дар биёбон мӯъҷизоту аломот ба амал овард.

³⁷This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.

³⁷«Ин ҳамон Мусост, ки ба банӣИсроил гуфт: "Худованд Худои шумо Пайғамбаре мисли ман барои шумо аз миёни бародарони шумо ба миён ҳоҳад овард; ба суҳанони Ӯ гӯш диҳед".

³⁸This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

³⁸«Ин ҳамон аст, ки дар ҷамоат дар биёбон бо фариштае ки дар кӯҳи Сино бо ӯ сухан гуфт, ва бо падарони мо буд, ва калимоти зиндаро қабул кард, то ки ба мо бирасонад,

³⁹To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,

³⁹«Вале падарони мо нахостанд ба ӯ итоат намоянд, балки ӯро рад карданд, ва дилҳои онҳо сӯи Миср моил шуд

⁴⁰Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

⁴⁰«Ва ба Ҳорун гуфтанд: "Барои мо худоене бисоз, ки пешопеши мо равона бошанд, зеро намедонем, бар сари Мусо, ки моро аз замини Миср берун овард, чӣ омадааст".

⁴¹And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.

⁴¹«Дар он айём гӯсолае сохтанд ва ба он бут курбониҳо карданд ва аз аъмоли дастҳои худ хеле шод гаштанд.

⁴²Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?

⁴²«Аммо Худо аз онҳо рӯй гардонда, вогузор кард, ки сипоҳи осмонро парастиш намоянд, чунон ки дар китоби анбиё навишта шудааст: "Эй ҳонадони Исроил! Оё дар давоми чиҳил сол дар биёбон барои Ман қурбониҳо ва ҳадияҳо тақдим кардед?

⁴³Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.

⁴³"Хаймаи Малук ва кавкаби ҳудои ҳуд Римфонро бардошта мегаштед, ки ин санамҳоро барои парастиш сохта будед; пас, шуморо ба он тарафи Бобил бадарға хоҳам кард".

⁴⁴Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.

⁴⁴«Падарони мо дар биёбон хаймаи шаҳодат доштанд, чунон ки Худо ба Мусо амр фармуда гуфта буд, ки онро мувофики намунае ки дидааст, бисозад.

⁴⁵Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;

⁴⁵«Онро падарони мо гирифта, ҳамроҳи Еҳушаъ ба мулки қавмҳо оварданд, вакте ки Худо онҳоро аз сари роҳи падарони мо бадар ронд, ва ҳайма то замони Довуд дар он ҷо монд,

⁴⁶Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.

⁴⁶«Ки ӯ дар ҳузури Худо илтифот ёфт ва дарҳост намуд, ки маскане барои Худои Яъкуб омода кунад.

⁴⁷But Solomon built him an house.

⁴⁷«Вале Сулаймон барои Ӯ хонае сохт.

⁴⁸Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,

⁴⁸«Аммо Ҳаққи Таоло дар маъбадҳои сохтаи дасти инсон маскан намегирад, чунон ки набӣ гуфтааст:

⁴⁹Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?

⁴⁹"Осмон", мегӯяд Худованд, "курсии Ман аст, ва замин пойаидози Ман; чӣ гуна хонае барои Ман бино хоҳед кард ва чӣ гуна маконе барои оромиши Ман?

⁵⁰Hath not my hand made all these things?

⁵⁰"Магар ҳамаи ин чизҳоро дасти Ман наофаридааст?"

⁵¹Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

⁵¹«Эй гарданкашон I Эй соҳибони дилҳо ва гӯшҳои номаҳтун! Шумо ҳамеша ба Рӯҳулкудс муқобилат мекунед, шумо низ монанди падарони худ ҳастед:

⁵²Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

⁵²«Кист аз анбиё, ки падарони шумо ӯро таъқиб накарда бошанд? Онҳо касонеро куштанд, ки аз омадаки Он Одил пешакӣ ҳабар дода буданд, ва алҳол шумо худи Ӯро таслим кардед ва ба қатл расондед,

⁵³Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.

⁵³«Оре, шумо Тавротро, ки ба василаи фариштагон барқарор шуд, қабул кардед, вале аз риояи он гардан тофтед».

⁵⁴When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.

⁵⁴Чун инро шуниданд, он қадар дарғазаб шуданд, ки дандонҳои худро ба ҳам месоиданд.

⁵⁵But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

⁵⁵Аммо ӯ, ки пур аз Рӯҳулкудс буд, суи осмон нигариста, ҷалоли Худр ва Исоро, ки ба ямини Худо истода буд, дид

⁵⁶And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

⁵⁶Ва гуфт: «Инак, осмонро кушода ва Писари Одамро ба ямини Худо истода мебинам».

⁵⁷Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,

⁵⁷Вале онҳо бо овози баланд фарьёд зада ва гӯшҳои худро маҳкам карда, якдилона ба ӯ ҳамла оварданд

⁵⁸And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.

⁵⁸Ва аз шаҳр берун бароварда, сангсор карданд, ва шоҳидон ҷомаҳои ҳудро назди пойҳои ҷавоне ки Шоул ном дошт, гузоштанд.

⁵⁹And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

⁵⁹Вақте ки Истефанусро сангсор мекарданд, ӯ дуо мехонду мегуфт: «Эй Исои Худованд! Рӯҳи маро қабул кун».

⁶⁰And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

⁶⁰Сонй зону зада, бо овози баланд нидо кард: «Худовандо! Ин гуноҳро баҳисоби онҳо дохил накун». Инро гуфту ҷон дод.
