¹Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.

¹แท้จริงถึงแม้พันธสัญญาเดิมนั้นก็ยังได้มีกฎสำหรับการปรนนิบัติในพิธีนมัสการ และได้มีสถานอันบริสุทธิ์สำหรับโลกนี้

²For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.

²เพราะว่าได้มีพลับพลาสร้างขึ้นตกแต่งเสร็จแล้ว คือห้องชั้นนอก ซึ่งมีคันประทีป โต๊ะ และขนมปังหน้าพระพักตร์ ห้องนี้เรียกว่าที่บริสุทธิ์

³And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;

³และภายในม่านชั้นที่สองมีห้องพลับพลาซึ่งเรียกว่า ที่บริสุทธิ์ที่สุด

⁴Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;

⁴ห้องนั้นมีแท่นทองคำสำหรับถวายเครื่องหอม และมีหีบพันธสัญญาหุ้มด้วยทองคำทุกด้าน ในหีบนั้นมีโถทองคำใส่มานา และมีไม้เท้าของอาโรนที่ออกช่อ และมีแผ่นศิลาพันธสัญญา

⁵And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.

⁵และเหนือหีบนั้นมีรูปเครูบแห่งสง่าราศีคลุมพระที่นั่งพระกรุณานั้น สิ่งเหล่านี้เราจะพรรณนาให้ละเอียดในที่นี้ไม่ได้

⁶Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.

⁶แล้วเมื่อจัดตั้งสิ่งเหล่านี้ไว้อย่างนั้นแล้ว พวกปุโรหิตก็เข้าไปในพลับพลาห้องที่หนึ่งทุกครั้งที่ปรนนิบัติพระเจ้า

⁷But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:

⁷แต่ในห้องที่สองนั้นมีมหาปุโรหิตผู้เดียวเท่านั้นที่เข้าไปได้ปีละครั้ง และต้องนำเลือดเข้าไปถวายเพื่อตัวเอง และเพื่อความผิดของประชาชนด้วย

⁸The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:

⁸อย่างนั้นแหละ พระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ได้ทรงสำแดงว่า ทางซึ่งจะเข้าไปในที่บริสุทธิ์ที่สุดนั้นไม่ได้ปรากฏแจ้ง คราวเมื่อพลับพลาเดิมยังตั้งอยู่

⁹Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;

⁹พลับพลาเดิมเป็นเครื่องเปรียบสำหรับในเวลานั้น คือมีการถวายของให้และเครื่องบูชา ซึ่งจะกระทำให้ใจวินิจฉัยผิดและชอบของผู้ถวายนั้นถึงที่สำเร็จไม่ได้

¹⁰Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

¹⁰ซึ่งเป็นแต่เพียงของกินของดื่ม และพิธีชำระล้างต่างๆ และเป็นพิธีสำหรับเนื้อหนังที่ได้บัญญัติไว้จนกว่าจะถึงเวลาที่จะต้องเปลี่ยนแปลงใหม่

¹¹But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

¹¹แต่เมื่อพระคริสต์ได้เสด็จมาเป็นมหาปุโรหิตแห่งสิ่งประเสริฐซึ่งจะมาถึงโดยทางพลับพลาอันใหญ่ยิ่งกว่าและสมบูรณ์ยิ่งกว่าแต่ก่อน ที่ไม่ได้สร้างขึ้นด้วยมือ และพูดได้ว่ามิได้เป็นอย่างของโลกนี้

¹²Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

¹²พระองค์เสด็จเข้าไปในที่บริสุทธิ์เพียงครั้งเดียวเท่านั้น และพระองค์ไม่ได้ทรงนำเลือดแพะและเลือดลูกวัวเข้าไป แต่ทรงนำพระโลหิตของพระองค์เองเข้าไป และทรงสำเร็จการไถ่บาปชั่วนิรันดร์แก่เรา

¹³For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

¹³เพราะถ้าเลือดวัวตัวผู้และเลือดแพะ และเถ้าของลูกโคตัวเมีย ที่ประพรมลงบนคนบาป สามารถชำระเนื้อหนังให้บริสุทธิ์ได้

¹⁴How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

¹⁴มากยิ่งกว่านั้นสักเท่าไรพระโลหิตของพระคริสต์ โดยพระวิญญาณนิรันดร์ได้ทรงถวายพระองค์เองแด่พระเจ้าเป็นเครื่องบูชาอันปราศจากตำหนิ จะได้ทรงชำระใจวินิจฉัยผิดและชอบของท่านทั้งหลายให้พ้นจากการประพฤติที่ตายแล้ว เพื่อจะได้ปฏิบัติพระเจ้าผู้ทรงพระชนม์อยู่

¹⁵And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

¹⁵เพราะเหตุนี้พระองค์จึงทรงเป็นคนกลางแห่งพันธสัญญาใหม่ เพื่อเมื่อมีผู้หนึ่งตายสำหรับที่จะไถ่การละเมิดของคนที่ได้ละเมิดต่อพันธสัญญาเดิมนั้นแล้ว คนทั้งหลายที่ถูกเรียกแล้วนั้นจะได้รับมรดกอันนิรันดร์ตามพระสัญญา

¹⁶For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

¹⁶เพราะว่าในกรณีที่เกี่ยวกับหนังสือพินัยกรรม ผู้ทำหนังสือนั้นก็ต้องถึงแก่ความตายแล้ว

¹⁷For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

¹⁷เพราะว่าเมื่อคนตายแล้วหนังสือพินัยกรรมนั้นจึงใช้ได้ มิฉะนั้นเมื่อผู้ทำยังมีชีวิตอยู่ หนังสือพินัยกรรมนั้นก็ใช้ไม่ได้

¹⁸Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.

¹⁸เหตุฉะนั้นพันธสัญญาเดิมก็ไม่ได้ทรงตั้งขึ้นไว้โดยปราศจากเลือด

¹⁹For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

¹⁹เพราะว่าเมื่อโมเสสประกาศข้อบังคับทุกข้อแก่บรรดาพลไพร่ตามพระราชบัญญัติแล้ว ท่านจึงได้เอาเลือดลูกวัวและเลือดลูกแพะกับน้ำ และเอาขนแกะสีแดงและต้นหุสบมาประพรมหนังสือม้วนนั้นกับทั้งบรรดาคนทั้งปวง

²⁰Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

²⁰กล่าวว่า `นี่เป็นเลือดแห่งพันธสัญญา ซึ่งพระเจ้าทรงบัญญัติไว้แก่ท่านทั้งหลาย'

²¹Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.

²¹แล้วท่านก็เอาเลือดประพรมพลับพลากับเครื่องใช้ทุกชนิดในการปฏิบัตินั้นเช่นเดียวกัน

²²And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

²²และตามพระราชบัญญัติถือว่า เกือบทุกสิ่งจะถูกชำระด้วยโลหิต และถ้าไม่มีโลหิตไหลออกแล้ว ก็จะไม่มีการอภัยบาปเลย

²³It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

²³เหตุฉะนั้นจึงจำเป็นต้องชำระแบบจำลองของสวรรค์ โดยใช้เครื่องบูชาอย่างนี้ แต่ว่าของจริงในสวรรค์นั้น ต้องชำระด้วยเครื่องบูชาอันประเสริฐกว่าเครื่องบูชาเหล่านั้น

²⁴For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

²⁴เพราะว่าพระคริสต์ไม่ได้เสด็จเข้าในสถานที่บริสุทธิ์ซึ่งสร้างขึ้นด้วยมือมนุษย์ อันเป็นแบบจำลองจากของจริง แต่พระองค์ได้เสด็จเข้าไปในสวรรค์นั้นเอง และบัดนี้ทรงปรากฏจำเพาะพระพักตร์พระเจ้าเพื่อเราทั้งหลาย

²⁵Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

²⁵พระองค์ไม่ต้องทรงถวายพระองค์เองซ้ำอีก เหมือนอย่างมหาปุโรหิตที่เข้าไปในที่บริสุทธิ์ทุกปีๆ นำเอาเลือดซึ่งไม่ใช่โลหิตของตัวเองเข้าไปด้วย

²⁶For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

²⁶มิฉะนั้นพระองค์คงต้องทนทุกข์ทรมานบ่อยๆตั้งแต่สร้างโลกมา แต่ว่าเดี๋ยวนี้พระองค์ได้ทรงปรากฏในเวลาที่สุดนี้ครั้งเดียว เพื่อจะได้กำจัดความบาปได้โดยถวายพระองค์เองเป็นเครื่องบูชา

²⁷And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

²⁷มีข้อกำหนดสำหรับมนุษย์ไว้แล้วว่าจะต้องตายหนหนึ่ง และหลังจากนั้นก็จะมีการพิพากษาฉันใด

²⁸So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

²⁸พระคริสต์จึงต้องถวายพระองค์เองหนหนึ่ง เพื่อจะได้ทรงรับเอาความบาปของคนเป็นอันมาก แล้วพระองค์จะทรงปรากฏครั้งที่สองปราศจากความบาปแก่บรรดาคนที่คอยพระองค์ให้เขาถึงความรอดฉันนั้น
