1And about that time, Herod the king put forth his hands, to do evil to certain of those of the assembly,
1 Tua'r amser hwnnw, fe gymerodd y Brenin Herod afael ar rai o'r eglwys i'w drygu.
2and he killed James, the brother of John, with the sword,
2 Fe laddodd Iago, brawd Ioan, 'r cleddyf.
3and having seen that it is pleasing to the Jews, he added to lay hold of Peter also — and they were the days of the unleavened food —
3 Pan welodd fod hyn yn gymeradwy gan yr Iddewon, aeth ymlaen i ddal Pedr hefyd. Yn ystod dyddiau gu373?yl y Bara Croyw y bu hyn.
4whom also having seized, he did put in prison, having delivered [him] to four quaternions of soldiers to guard him, intending after the passover to bring him forth to the people.
4 Wedi dal Pedr, fe'i rhoddodd yng ngharchar, a'i draddodi i bedwar pedwariad o filwyr i'w warchod, gan fwriadu dod ag ef allan gerbron y cyhoedd ar l y Pasg.
5Peter, therefore, indeed, was kept in the prison, and fervent prayer was being made by the assembly unto God for him,
5 Felly yr oedd Pedr dan warchodaeth yn y carchar. Ond yr oedd yr eglwys yn gweddo'n daer ar Dduw ar ei ran.
6and when Herod was about to bring him forth, the same night was Peter sleeping between two soldiers, having been bound with two chains, guards also before the door were keeping the prison,
6 Pan oedd Herod ar fin ei ddwyn gerbron, y nos honno yr oedd Pedr yn cysgu rhwng dau filwr, wedi ei rwymo dwy gadwyn, a gwylwyr o flaen y drws yn gwarchod y carchar.
7and lo, a messenger of the Lord stood by, and a light shone in the buildings, and having smitten Peter on the side, he raised him up, saying, `Rise in haste,` and his chains fell from off [his] hands.
7 A dyma angel yr Arglwydd yn sefyll yno, a goleuni yn disgleirio yn y gell. Trawodd yr angel Pedr ar ei ystlys, a'i ddeffro a dweud, "Cod ar unwaith." A syrthiodd ei gadwynau oddi ar ei ddwylo.
8The messenger also said to him, `Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals;` and he did so; and he saith to him, `Put thy garment round and be following me;`
8 Meddai'r angel wrtho, "Rho dy wregys a gwisg dy sandalau." Ac felly y gwnaeth. Meddai wrtho wedyn, "Rho dy fantell amdanat, a chanlyn fi."
9and having gone forth, he was following him, and he knew not that it is true that which is done through the messenger, and was thinking he saw a vision,
9 Ac fe'i canlynodd oddi yno. Ni wyddai fod yr hyn oedd yn cael ei gyflawni drwy'r angel yn digwydd mewn gwirionedd, ond yr oedd yn tybio mai gweld gweledigaeth yr oedd.
10and having passed through a first ward, and a second, they came unto the iron gate that is leading to the city, which of its own accord did open to them, and having gone forth, they went on through one street, and immediately the messenger departed from him.
10 Aethant heibio i'r wyliadwriaeth gyntaf a'r ail, a daethant at y porth haearn oedd yn arwain i'r ddinas; agorodd hwn iddynt ohono'i hun, ac aethant allan a mynd rhagddynt hyd un heol. Yna'n ebrwydd ymadawodd yr angel ag ef.
11And Peter having come to himself, said, `Now I have known of a truth that the Lord did sent forth His messenger, and did deliver me out of the hand of Herod, and all the expectation of the people of the Jews;`
11 Wedi i Pedr ddod ato'i hun, fe ddywedodd, "Yn awr mi wn yn wir i'r Arglwydd anfon ei angel a'm gwared i o law Herod a rhag popeth yr oedd yr Iddewon yn ei ddisgwyl."
12also, having considered, he came unto the house of Mary, the mother of John, who is surnamed Mark, where there were many thronged together and praying.
12 Wedi iddo sylweddoli hyn, aeth i du375? Mair, mam Ioan a gyfenwid Marc, lle'r oedd cryn nifer wedi ymgasglu ac yn gweddo.
13And Peter having knocked at the door of the porch, there came a damsel to hearken, by name Rhoda,
13 Curodd wrth ddrws y cyntedd, a daeth morwyn, o'r enw Rhoda, i'w ateb.
14and having known the voice of Peter, from the joy she did not open the porch, but having run in, told of the standing of Peter before the porch,
14 Pan adnabu hi lais Pedr nid agorodd y drws gan lawenydd, ond rhedodd i mewn a mynegodd fod Pedr yn sefyll wrth ddrws y cyntedd.
15and they said unto her, `Thou art mad;` and she was confidently affirming [it] to be so, and they said, `It is his messenger;`
15 Dywedasant wrthi, " 'Rwyt ti'n wallgof." Ond taerodd hithau mai felly yr oedd. Meddent hwythau, "Ei angel ydyw."
16and Peter was continuing knocking, and having opened, they saw him, and were astonished,
16 Yr oedd Pedr yn dal i guro, ac wedi iddynt agor a'i weld, fe'u syfrdanwyd.
17and having beckoned to them with the hand to be silent, he declared to them how the Lord brought him out of the prison, and he said, `Declare to James and to the brethren these things;` and having gone forth, he went on to another place.
17 Amneidiodd yntau arnynt 'i law i fod yn ddistaw, ac adroddodd wrthynt sut yr oedd yr Arglwydd wedi dod ag ef allan o'r carchar. Dywedodd hefyd, "Mynegwch hyn i Iago a'r brodyr." Yna ymadawodd, ac aeth ymaith i le arall.
18And day having come, there was not a little stir among the soldiers what then was become of Peter,
18 Wedi iddi ddyddio, yr oedd cynnwrf nid bychan ymhlith y milwyr: beth allai fod wedi digwydd i Pedr?
19and Herod having sought for him, and not having found, having examined the guards, did command [them] to be led away to punishment, and having gone down from Judea to Cesarea, he was abiding [there].
19 Wedi i Herod chwilio amdano a methu ei gael, holodd y gwylwyr a gorchmynnodd eu dienyddio. Yna aeth i lawr o Jwdea i Gesarea, ac aros yno.
20And Herod was highly displeased with the Tyrians and Sidonians, and with one accord they came unto him, and having made a friend of Blastus, who [is] over the bed-chambers of the king, they were asking peace, because of their country being nourished from the king`s;
20 Yr oedd Herod yn gynddeiriog yn erbyn pobl Tyrus a Sidon. Ond daethant hwy yn unfryd ato, ac wedi ennill Blastus, siambrlen y brenin, o'u plaid, deisyfasant heddwch, am fod eu gwlad hwy yn cael ei chynhaliaeth o wlad y brenin.
21and on a set day, Herod having arrayed himself in kingly apparel, and having sat down upon the tribunal, was making an oration unto them,
21 Ar ddiwrnod penodedig, a'i wisg frenhinol amdano, eisteddodd Herod ar ei orsedd a dechrau eu hannerch;
22and the populace were shouting, `The voice of a god, and not of a man;`
22 a bloeddiodd y bobl, "Llais Duw ydyw, nid llais dyn!"
23and presently there smote him a messenger of the Lord, because he did not give the glory to God, and having been eaten of worms, he expired.
23 Ar unwaith trawodd angel yr Arglwydd ef, am nad oedd wedi rhoi'r gogoniant i Dduw; ac fe'i hyswyd gan bryfed, a threngodd.
24And the word of God did grow and did multiply,
24 Yr oedd Gair yr Arglwydd yn cynyddu ac yn mynd ar led.
25and Barnabas and Saul did turn back out of Jerusalem, having fulfilled the ministration, having taken also with [them] John, who was surnamed Mark.
25 Dychwelodd Barnabas a Saul o Jerwsalem wedi iddynt gyflawni eu gwaith, a chymryd gyda hwy Ioan, a gyfenwid Marc.
