1A soft answer turneth back fury, And a grievous word raiseth up anger.
1 Y mae ateb llednais yn dofi dig, ond gair garw yn cynnau llid.
2The tongue of the wise maketh knowledge good, And the mouth of fools uttereth folly.
2 Y mae tafod y doeth yn clodfori deall, ond genau ffyliaid yn parablu ffolineb.
3In every place are the eyes of Jehovah, Watching the evil and the good.
3 Y mae llygaid yr ARGLWYDD ym mhob man, yn gwylio'r drwg a'r da.
4A healed tongue [is] a tree of life, And perverseness in it — a breach in the spirit.
4 Y mae tafod tyner yn bren bywiol, ond tafod garw yn dryllio'r ysbryd.
5A fool despiseth the instruction of his father, And whoso is regarding reproof is prudent.
5 Diystyra'r ff�l ddisgyblaeth ei dad, ond deallus yw'r un a rydd sylw i gerydd.
6[In] the house of the righteous [is] abundant strength, And in the increase of the wicked — trouble.
6 Y mae llawer o gyfoeth yn nhu375?'r cyfiawn, ond trallod sydd yn enillion y drygionus.
7The lips of the wise scatter knowledge, And the heart of fools [is] not right.
7 Gwasgaru gwybodaeth y mae genau'r doeth, ond nid felly feddwl y ffyliaid.
8The sacrifice of the wicked [is] an abomination to Jehovah, And the prayer of the upright [is] His delight.
8 Ffiaidd gan yr ARGLWYDD yw aberth y drygionus, ond y mae gweddi'r uniawn wrth ei fodd.
9An abomination to Jehovah [is] the way of the wicked, And whoso is pursuing righteousness He loveth.
9 Ffiaidd gan yr ARGLWYDD yw ffordd y drygionus, ond y mae'n caru'r rhai sy'n dilyn cyfiawnder.
10Chastisement [is] grievous to him who is forsaking the path, Whoso is hating reproof dieth.
10 Bydd disgyblaeth lem ar yr un sy'n gadael y ffordd, a bydd y sawl sy'n cas�u cerydd yn trengi.
11Sheol and destruction [are] before Jehovah, Surely also the hearts of the sons of men.
11 Y mae Sheol ac Abadon dan lygad yr ARGLWYDD; pa faint mwy feddyliau pobl?
12A scorner loveth not his reprover, Unto the wise he goeth not.
12 Nid yw'r gwatwarwr yn hoffi cerydd; nid yw'n cyfeillachu �'r doethion.
13A joyful heart maketh glad the face, And by grief of heart is the spirit smitten.
13 Y mae calon lawen yn sirioli'r wyneb, ond dryllir yr ysbryd gan boen meddwl.
14The heart of the intelligent seeketh knowledge, And the mouth of fools enjoyeth folly.
14 Y mae calon ddeallus yn ceisio gwybodaeth, ond y mae genau'r ffyliaid yn ymborthi ar ffolineb.
15All the days of the afflicted [are] evil, And gladness of heart [is] a perpetual banquet.
15 I'r cystuddiol, y mae pob diwrnod yn flinderus, ond y mae calon hapus yn wledd wastadol.
16Better [is] a little with the fear of Jehovah, Than much treasure, and tumult with it.
16 Gwell ychydig gydag ofn yr ARGLWYDD na chyfoeth mawr a thrallod gydag ef.
17Better [is] an allowance of green herbs and love there, Than a fatted ox, and hatred with it.
17 Gwell yw pryd o lysiau lle mae cariad, nag ych pasgedig a chasineb gydag ef.
18A man of fury stirreth up contention, And the slow to anger appeaseth strife.
18 Y mae un drwg ei dymer yn codi cynnen, ond y mae'r amyneddgar yn tawelu cweryl.
19The way of the slothful [is] as a hedge of briers, And the path of the upright is raised up.
19 Y mae ffordd y diog fel llwyn mieri, ond llwybr yr uniawn fel priffordd wastad.
20A wise son rejoiceth a father. And a foolish man is despising his mother.
20 Rhydd mab doeth lawenydd i'w dad, ond y mae'r ff�l yn dilorni ei fam.
21Folly is joy to one lacking heart, And a man of intelligence directeth [his] going.
21 Y mae ffolineb yn ddifyrrwch i'r disynnwyr, ond y mae'r deallus yn cadw ffordd union.
22Without counsel [is] the making void of purposes, And in a multitude of counsellors it is established.
22 Drysir cynlluniau pan nad oes ymgynghori, ond daw llwyddiant pan geir llawer o gynghorwyr.
23Joy [is] to a man in the answer of his mouth, And a word in its season — how good!
23 Caiff rhywun foddhad pan fydd ganddo ateb, a beth sy'n well na gair yn ei bryd?
24A path of life [is] on high for the wise, To turn aside from Sheol beneath.
24 Y mae ffordd y bywyd yn dyrchafu'r deallus, i'w droi oddi wrth Sheol isod.
25The house of the proud Jehovah pulleth down, And He setteth up the border of the widow.
25 Y mae'r ARGLWYDD yn dymchwel tu375?'r balch, ond yn diogelu terfynau'r weddw.
26An abomination to Jehovah [are] thoughts of wickedness, And pure [are] sayings of pleasantness.
26 Ffiaidd gan yr ARGLWYDD yw bwriadau drwg, ond y mae geiriau pur yn hyfrydwch iddo.
27A dishonest gainer is troubling his house, And whoso is hating gifts liveth.
27 Y mae'r un sy'n awchu am elw yn creu anghydfod yn ei du375?, ond y sawl sy'n cas�u cil-dwrn yn cael bywyd.
28The heart of the righteous meditateth to answer, And the mouth of the wicked uttereth evil things.
28 Y mae'r cyfiawn yn ystyried cyn rhoi ateb, ond y mae genau'r drygionus yn parablu drwg.
29Far [is] Jehovah from the wicked, And the prayer of the righteous He heareth.
29 Pell yw'r ARGLWYDD oddi wrth y drygionus, ond gwrendy ar weddi'r cyfiawn.
30The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart, A good report maketh fat the bone.
30 Y mae llygaid sy'n gloywi yn llawenhau'r galon, a newydd da yn adfywio'r corff.
31An ear that is hearing the reproof of life Doth lodge among the wise.
31 Y mae'r glust sy'n gwrando ar wersi bywyd yn aros yng nghwmni'r doeth.
32Whoso is refusing instruction is despising his soul, And whoso is hearing reproof Is getting understanding.
32 Y mae'r un sy'n gwrthod disgyblaeth yn ei gas�u ei hun, ond y sawl sy'n gwrando ar gerydd yn berchen deall.
33The fear of Jehovah [is] the instruction of wisdom, And before honour [is] humility!
33 Y mae ofn yr ARGLWYDD yn ddisgyblaeth mewn doethineb, a gostyngeiddrwydd yn arwain i anrhydedd.
