¹After these things he departed from Athens, and came to Corinth.

²And he found a certain Jew named Aquila, a man of Pontus by race, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to depart from Rome: and he came unto them;

²Ug hingkit-an niya ang usa ka Judio, nga ginganlan si Aquila, usa ka tawo nga molupyo sa Pontus, nga bag-o pa lamang nahiabut gikan sa Italia, uban ang iyang asawa nga si Priscila, tungod kay si Claudio nagsugo nga mamahawa sa Roma ang tanang mga Judio, ug siya miadto kanila.

³and because he was of the same trade, he abode with them, and they wrought, for by their trade they were tentmakers.

³Ug tungod kay managsama ang ilang patigayon, siya mipuyo uban kanila ug naningkamot sila kay ang buluhaton nila mao ang pagbuhat ug mga balongbalong.

⁴And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded Jews and Greeks.

⁵But when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was constrained by the word, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.

⁵Apan sa pagpanlugsong ni Silas ug ni Timoteo gikan sa Macedonia, napugos si Pablo pinaagi sa pulong sa pagpamatuod sa mga Judio, nga si Jesus mao si Cristo.

⁶And when they opposed themselves and blasphemed, he shook out his raiment and said unto them, Your blood [be] upon your own heads; I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.

⁶Ug sa misupak sila gayud ug nagpasipala, giyabyab niya ang iyang bisti ug miingon kanila: Ang inyong dugo magapaibabaw sa inyong mga ulo; ako mahinlo; sukad karon moadto ako sa mga Gentil.

⁷And he departed thence, and went into the house of a certain man named Titus Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.

⁷Ug mipahawa siya didto, ug misulod sa balay sa usa nga ginganlan si Tito Justo, usa nga masimbahon sa Dios, kansang balay diha tupad sa sinagoga.

⁸And Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

⁸Ug si Crispo, ang pangulo sa sinagoga, mitoo sa Ginoo uban ang tibook niyang panimalay; ug daghanan sa mga taga-Corinto nga nagpatalinghug, ming-too ug nanagpabautismo.

⁹And the Lord said unto Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak and hold not thy peace:

⁹Ug ang Ginoo misulti kang Pablo sa kagabhion pinaagi sa panan-awon: Dili ka mahadlok, kondili sumulti ka, ug dili ka maghilum;

¹⁰for I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to harm thee: for I have much people in this city.

¹⁰Kay ako nagauban kanimo, ug walay tawo nga magahilabut kanimo sa pagdaut kanimo; kay daghan ang akong mga tawo dinhi niining ciudara.

¹¹And he dwelt [there] a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

¹¹Ug mipuyo siya didto sa usa ka tuig ug unom ka bulan, nga nagatudlo sa pulong sa Dios sa taliwala nila.

¹²But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him before the judgment-seat,

¹²Apan samtang nga si Galion mao pa ang gobernador sa Acaya, mialsa pagtingub ang mga Judio batok kang Pablo, ug ilang gidala siya sa hukmanan,

¹³saying, This man persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.

¹³Nga nagaingon: Kining tawohana nagadani sa mga tawo sa pagsimba sa Dios supak sa Kasugoan.

¹⁴But when Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If indeed it were a matter of wrong or of wicked villany, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:

¹⁴Apan sa diha nga si Pablo mobungat na unta sa iyang baba, nag-ingon si Galion sa mga Judio: Kong butang pa kini nga sayup, kun, binanyaga nga buhat, O mga Judio, may katarungan nga pagaantuson ko kamo.

¹⁵but if they are questions about words and names and your own law, look to it yourselves; I am not minded to be a judge of these matters.

¹⁵Apan kong kini mga paglalisay mahitungod lamang sa mga pulong, ug sa mga ngalan, ug sa inyong kaugalingong Kasugoan, kamo ang mahibalo niana, wala akoy tinguha sa pagkamaghuhukom niining mga butanga.

¹⁶And he drove them from the judgment-seat.

¹⁶Ug iyang giabog sila gikan sa hukmanan.

¹⁷And they all laid hold on Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment-seat. And Gallio cared for none of these things.

¹⁷Ug silang tanan mingdakup kang Sostenes, ang pangulo sa sinagoga, ug ilang gipuspusan siya sa atubangan sa hukmanan. Ug wala magtagad si Galion sa bisan unsa niining mga butanga.

¹⁸And Paul, having tarried after this yet many days, took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence for Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila: having shorn his head in Cenchreae; for he had a vow.

¹⁸Ug si Pablo, sa nakapabilin pa ug daghan nga mga adlaw, nanamilit sa mga igsoon, ug milayag gikan didto padulong sa Siria, ug uban kaniya si Priscila ug si Aquila; sa nakapaalut siya sa Cencreas, kay siya adunay saad.

¹⁹And they came to Ephesus, and he left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.

¹⁹Ug miabut sila sa Efeso, ug iyang gibilin sila didto. Apan misulod siya sa sinagoga, ug nagsaysay sa mga Judio.

²⁰And when they asked him to abide a longer time, he consented not;

²⁰Ug sa gipangayo nila aron mopabilin siya uban kanila sa dugay-dugay nga panahon wala siya mosugot;

²¹but taking his leave of them, and saying, I will return again unto you if God will, he set sail from Ephesus.

²¹Kondili nanamilit kanila, nga nagaingon: Kinahanglan nga ako sa tanang paagi, makatambong sa umaabut nga fiesta sa Jerusalem; apan mobalik ako pag-usab kaninyo, kong itugot sa Dios. Ug milayag siya gikan sa Efeso.

²²And when he had landed at Caesarea, he went up and saluted the church, and went down to Antioch.

²²Ug sa nakadunggo siya sa Cesarea, mitungas siya ug miabiabi sa iglesia, ug milugsong padulong sa Antioquia.

²³And having spent some time [there], he departed, and went through the region of Galatia, and Phrygia, in order, establishing all the disciples.

²³Ug sa nakapabilin siya didto ug diyutay nga panahon, migikan ug milatas siya sa sunodsunod sa kayutaan sa Galacia, ug sa Phrygia, sa pagpalig-on sa tanang mga tinon-an.

²⁴Now a certain Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by race, an eloquent man, came to Ephesus; and he was mighty in the scriptures.

²⁴Ug miabut sa Efeso ang usa ka Judio nga ginganlan si Apolos nga natawo sa Alejandria, tawo nga batid sa panulti, ug gamhanan sa mga Kasulatan.

²⁵This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spake and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, knowing only the baptism of John:

²⁵Kining tawohana natonan sa dalan sa Ginoo, ug sa mainit nga espiritu, nagsulti ug nagtudlo sa sibo gayud sa mga butang mahatungod kang Jesus; nga nanghibalo lamang sa bautismo ni Juan.

²⁶and he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more accurately.

²⁶Ug siya misugod sa pagsulti sa walay kahadlok didto sa sinagoga. Ug sa hingdunggan siya ni Priscila ug ni Aquila, ilang gikuha, ug ilang giasoyan sa sibo pa gayud sa dalan sa Dios.

²⁷And when he was minded to pass over into Achaia, the brethren encouraged him, and wrote to the disciples to receive him: and when he was come, he helped them much that had believed through grace;

²⁷Ug sa buot siya moagi ngadto sa Acaya, gidasig siya sa mga igsoon, ug nagsulat sila sa mga tinon-an, aron siya dawaton nila ug maayo; ug sa pag-abut niya, nakatabang siya ug daku sa mga mingtoo pinaagi sa gracia.

²⁸for he powerfully confuted the Jews, [and that] publicly, showing by the scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.

²⁸Kay uban gayud sa gahum ginadaug niya sa lantugi ang mga Judio ug kana nabutyag gayud, sa pagpahayag pinasikad sa mga Kasulatan, nga si Jesus mao ang Cristo.
