¹And [David] made him houses in the city of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.

¹David se bâtit des maisons dans la cité de David; il prépara une place à l'arche de Dieu, et dressa pour elle une tente.

¹ויעש לו בתים בעיר דויד ויכן מקום לארון האלהים ויט לו אהל׃

²Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath Jehovah chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

²Alors David dit: L'arche de Dieu ne doit être portée que par les Lévites, car l'Eternel les a choisis pour porter l'arche de Dieu et pour en faire le service à toujours.

²אז אמר דויד לא לשאת את ארון האלהים כי אם הלוים כי בם בחר יהוה לשאת את ארון יהוה ולשרתו עד עולם׃

³And David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Jehovah unto its place, which he had prepared for it.

³Et David assembla tout Israël à Jérusalem pour faire monter l'arche de l'Eternel à la place qu'il lui avait préparée.

³ויקהל דויד את כל ישראל אל ירושלם להעלות את ארון יהוה אל מקומו אשר הכין לו׃

⁴And David gathered together the sons of Aaron, and the Levites:

⁴ויאסף דויד את בני אהרן ואת הלוים׃

⁵of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, and his brethren a hundred and twenty;

⁵des fils de Kehath, Uriel le chef et ses frères, cent vingt;

⁵לבני קהת אוריאל השר ואחיו מאה ועשרים׃

⁶of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty;

⁶des fils de Merari, Asaja le chef et ses frères, deux cent vingt;

⁶לבני מררי עשיה השר ואחיו מאתים ועשרים׃

⁷of the sons of Gershom, Joel the chief, and his brethren a hundred and thirty;

⁷des fils de Guerschom, Joël le chef et ses frères, cent trente;

⁷לבני גרשום יואל השר ואחיו מאה ושלשים׃

⁸of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred;

⁸des fils d'Elitsaphan, Schemaeja le chef et ses frères, deux cents;

⁸לבני אליצפן שמעיה השר ואחיו מאתים׃

⁹of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore;

⁹des fils d'Hébron, Eliel le chef et ses frères, quatre-vingts;

⁹לבני חברון אליאל השר ואחיו שמונים׃

¹⁰of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab the chief, and his brethren a hundred and twelve.

¹⁰des fils d'Uziel, Amminadab le chef et ses frères, cent douze.

¹⁰לבני עזיאל עמינדב השר ואחיו מאה ושנים עשר׃

¹¹And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,

¹¹David appela les sacrificateurs Tsadok et Abiathar, et les Lévites Uriel, Asaja, Joël, Schemaeja, Eliel et Amminadab.

¹¹ויקרא דויד לצדוק ולאביתר הכהנים וללוים לאוריאל עשיה ויואל שמעיה ואליאל ועמינדב׃

¹²and said unto them, Ye are the heads of the fathers' [houses] of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of Jehovah, the God of Israel, unto [the place] that I have prepared for it.

¹²Il leur dit: Vous êtes les chefs de famille des Lévites; sanctifiez-vous, vous et vos frères, et faites monter à la place que je lui ai préparée l'arche de l'Eternel, du Dieu d'Israël.

¹²ויאמר להם אתם ראשי האבות ללוים התקדשו אתם ואחיכם והעליתם את ארון יהוה אלהי ישראל אל הכינותי לו׃

¹³For because ye [bare it] not at the first, Jehovah our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not according to the ordinance.

¹³Parce que vous n'y étiez pas la première fois, l'Eternel, notre Dieu, nous a frappés; car nous ne l'avons pas cherché selon la loi.

¹³כי למבראשונה לא אתם פרץ יהוה אלהינו בנו כי לא דרשנהו כמשפט׃

¹⁴So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of Jehovah, the God of Israel.

¹⁴Les sacrificateurs et les Lévites se sanctifièrent pour faire monter l'arche de l'Eternel, du Dieu d'Israël.

¹⁴ויתקדשו הכהנים והלוים להעלות את ארון יהוה אלהי ישראל׃

¹⁵And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of Jehovah.

¹⁵Les fils des Lévites portèrent l'arche de Dieu sur leurs épaules avec des barres, comme Moïse l'avait ordonné d'après la parole de l'Eternel.

¹⁵וישאו בני הלוים את ארון האלהים כאשר צוה משה כדבר יהוה בכתפם במטות עליהם׃

¹⁶And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren the singers, with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding aloud and lifting up the voice with joy.

¹⁶Et David dit aux chefs des Lévites de disposer leurs frères les chantres avec des instruments de musique, des luths, des harpes et des cymbales, qu'ils devaient faire retentir de sons éclatants en signe de réjouissance.

¹⁶ויאמר דויד לשרי הלוים להעמיד את אחיהם המשררים בכלי שיר נבלים וכנרות ומצלתים משמיעים להרים בקול לשמחה׃

¹⁷So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;

¹⁷Les Lévites disposèrent Héman, fils de Joël; parmi ses frères, Asaph, fils de Bérékia; et parmi les fils de Merari, leurs frères, Ethan, fils de Kuschaja;

¹⁷ויעמידו הלוים את הימן בן יואל ומן אחיו אסף בן ברכיהו ומן בני מררי אחיהם איתן בן קושיהו׃

¹⁸and with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the doorkeepers.

¹⁸puis avec eux leurs frères du second ordre Zacharie, Ben, Jaaziel, Schemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaja, Maaséja, Matthithia, Eliphelé et Miknéja, et Obed-Edom et Jeïel, les portiers.

¹⁸ועמהם אחיהם המשנים זכריהו בן ויעזיאל ושמירמות ויחיאל ועני אליאב ובניהו ומעשיהו ומתתיהו ואליפלהו ומקניהו ועבד אדם ויעיאל השערים׃

¹⁹So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, [were appointed] with cymbals of brass to sound aloud;

¹⁹והמשררים הימן אסף ואיתן במצלתים נחשת להשמיע׃

²⁰and Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries set to Alamoth;

²⁰Zacharie, Aziel, Schemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaséja et Benaja avaient des luths sur alamoth;

²⁰וזכריה ועזיאל ושמירמות ויחיאל ועני ואליאב ומעשיהו ובניהו בנבלים על עלמות׃

²¹and Mattithiah, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps set to the Sheminith, to lead.

²¹et Matthithia, Eliphelé, Miknéja, Obed-Edom, Jeïel et Azazia, avaient des harpes à huit cordes, pour conduire le chant.

²¹ומתתיהו ואליפלהו ומקניהו ועבד אדם ויעיאל ועזזיהו בכנרות על השמינית לנצח׃

²²And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was over the song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.

²²Kenania, chef de musique parmi les Lévites, dirigeait la musique, car il était habile.

²²וכנניהו שר הלוים במשא יסר במשא כי מבין הוא׃

²³And Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.

²³Bérékia et Elkana étaient portiers de l'arche.

²³וברכיה ואלקנה שערים לארון׃

²⁴And Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethanel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.

²⁴Schebania, Josaphat, Nethaneel, Amasaï, Zacharie, Benaja et Eliézer, les sacrificateurs, sonnaient des trompettes devant l'arche de Dieu. Obed-Edom et Jechija étaient portiers de l'arche.

²⁴ושבניהו ויושפט ונתנאל ועמשי וזכריהו ובניהו ואליעזר הכהנים מחצצרים בחצצרות לפני ארון האלהים ועבד אדם ויחיה שערים לארון׃

²⁵So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.

²⁵David, les anciens d'Israël, et les chefs de milliers se mirent en route pour faire monter l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel depuis la maison d'Obed-Edom, au milieu des réjouissances.

²⁵ויהי דויד וזקני ישראל ושרי האלפים ההלכים להעלות את ארון ברית יהוה מן בית עבד אדם בשמחה׃

²⁶And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, that they sacrificed seven bullocks and seven rams.

²⁶Ce fut avec l'assistance de Dieu que les Lévites portèrent l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel; et l'on sacrifia sept taureaux et sept béliers.

²⁶ויהי בעזר האלהים את הלוים נשאי ארון ברית יהוה ויזבחו שבעה פרים ושבעה אילים׃

²⁷And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song [with] the singers: and David had upon him an ephod of linen.

²⁷David était revêtu d'un manteau de byssus; il en était de même de tous les Lévites qui portaient l'arche, des chantres, et de Kenania, chef de musique parmi les chantres; et David avait sur lui un éphod de lin.

²⁷ודויד מכרבל במעיל בוץ וכל הלוים הנשאים את הארון והמשררים וכנניה השר המשא המשררים ועל דויד אפוד בד׃

²⁸Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud with psalteries and harps.

²⁸Tout Israël fit monter l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel avec des cris de joie, au son des clairons, des trompettes et des cymbales, et en faisant retentir les luths et les harpes.

²⁸וכל ישראל מעלים את ארון ברית יהוה בתרועה ובקול שופר ובחצצרות ובמצלתים משמעים בנבלים וכנרות׃

²⁹And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of Jehovah came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart.

²⁹Comme l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel entrait dans la cité de David, Mical, fille de Saül, regardait par la fenêtre, et voyant le roi David sauter et danser, elle le méprisa dans son coeur.

²⁹ויהי ארון ברית יהוה בא עד עיר דויד ומיכל בת שאול נשקפה בעד החלון ותרא את המלך דויד מרקד ומשחק ותבז לו בלבה׃
