¹And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that served the king by course, and the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, and the rulers over all the substance and possessions of the king and of his sons, with the officers, and the mighty men, even all the mighty men of valor, unto Jerusalem.

¹David convoqua à Jérusalem tous les chefs d'Israël, les chefs des tribus, les chefs des divisions au service du roi, les chefs de milliers et les chefs de centaines, ceux qui étaient en charge sur tous les biens et les troupeaux du roi et auprès de ses fils, les eunuques, les héros et tous les hommes vaillants.

¹ויקהל דויד את כל שרי ישראל שרי השבטים ושרי המחלקות המשרתים את המלך ושרי האלפים ושרי המאות ושרי כל רכוש ומקנה למלך ולבניו עם הסריסים והגבורים ולכל גבור חיל אל ירושלם׃

²Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: as for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and for the footstool of our God; and I had made ready for the building.

²Le roi David se leva sur ses pieds, et dit: Ecoutez-moi, mes frères et mon peuple! J'avais l'intention de bâtir une maison de repos pour l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel et pour le marchepied de notre Dieu, et je me préparais à bâtir.

²ויקם דויד המלך על רגליו ויאמר שמעוני אחי ועמי אני עם לבבי לבנות בית מנוחה לארון ברית יהוה ולהדם רגלי אלהינו והכינותי לבנות׃

³But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build a house for my name, because thou art a man of war, and hast shed blood.

³Mais Dieu m'a dit: Tu ne bâtiras pas une maison à mon nom, car tu es un homme de guerre et tu as versé du sang.

³והאלהים אמר לי לא תבנה בית לשמי כי איש מלחמות אתה ודמים שפכת׃

⁴Howbeit Jehovah, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel;

⁴L'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël, m'a choisi dans toute la maison de mon père, pour que je fusse roi d'Israël à toujours; car il a choisi Juda pour chef, il a choisi la maison de mon père dans la maison de Juda, et parmi les fils de mon père c'est moi qu'il a voulu faire régner sur tout Israël.

⁴ויבחר יהוה אלהי ישראל בי מכל בית אבי להיות למלך על ישראל לעולם כי ביהודה בחר לנגיד ובבית יהודה בית אבי ובבני אבי בי רצה להמליך על כל ישראל׃

⁵And of all my sons (for Jehovah hath given me many sons), he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of Jehovah over Israel.

⁵Entre tous mes fils-car l'Eternel m'a donné beaucoup de fils-il a choisi mon fils Salomon pour le faire asseoir sur le trône du royaume de l'Eternel, sur Israël.

⁵ומכל בני כי רבים בנים נתן לי יהוה ויבחר בשלמה בני לשבת על כסא מלכות יהוה על ישראל׃

⁶And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.

⁶Il m'a dit: Salomon, ton fils, bâtira ma maison et mes parvis; car je l'ai choisi pour mon fils, et je serai pour lui un père.

⁶ויאמר לי שלמה בנך הוא יבנה ביתי וחצרותי כי בחרתי בו לי לבן ואני אהיה לו לאב׃

⁷And I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and mine ordinances, as at this day.

⁷J'affermirai pour toujours son royaume, s'il reste attaché comme aujourd'hui à la pratique de mes commandements et de mes ordonnances.

⁷והכינותי את מלכותו עד לעולם אם יחזק לעשות מצותי ומשפטי כיום הזה׃

⁸Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of Jehovah, and in the audience of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of Jehovah your God; that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children after you for ever.

⁸Maintenant, aux yeux de tout Israël, de l'assemblée de l'Eternel, et en présence de notre Dieu qui vous entend, observez et prenez à coeur tous les commandements de l'Eternel, votre Dieu, afin que vous possédiez ce bon pays et que vous le laissiez en héritage à vos fils après vous à perpétuité.

⁸ועתה לעיני כל ישראל קהל יהוה ובאזני אלהינו שמרו ודרשו כל מצות יהוה אלהיכם למען תירשו את הארץ הטובה והנחלתם לבניכם אחריכם עד עולם׃

⁹And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for Jehovah searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

⁹Et toi, Salomon, mon fils, connais le Dieu de ton père, et sers-le d'un coeur dévoué et d'une âme bien disposée, car l'Eternel sonde tous les coeurs et pénètre tous les desseins et toutes les pensées. Si tu le cherches, il se laissera trouver par toi; mais si tu l'abandonnes, il te rejettera pour toujours.

⁹ואתה שלמה בני דע את אלהי אביך ועבדהו בלב שלם ובנפש חפצה כי כל לבבות דורש יהוה וכל יצר מחשבות מבין אם תדרשנו ימצא לך ואם תעזבנו יזניחך לעד׃

¹⁰Take heed now; for Jehovah hath chosen thee to build a house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.

¹⁰Considère maintenant que l'Eternel t'a choisi, afin que tu bâtisses une maison qui serve de sanctuaire. Fortifie-toi et agis.

¹⁰ראה עתה כי יהוה בחר בך לבנות בית למקדש חזק ועשה׃

¹¹Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch [of the temple], and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper rooms thereof, and of the inner chambers thereof, and of the place of the mercy-seat;

¹¹David donna à Salomon, son fils, le modèle du portique et des bâtiments, des chambres du trésor, des chambres hautes, des chambres intérieures, et de la chambre du propitiatoire.

¹¹ויתן דויד לשלמה בנו את תבנית האולם ואת בתיו וגנזכיו ועליתיו וחדריו הפנימים ובית הכפרת׃

¹²and the pattern of all that he had by the Spirit, for the courts of the house of Jehovah, and for all the chambers round about, for the treasuries of the house of God, and for the treasuries of the dedicated things;

¹²Il lui donna le plan de tout ce qu'il avait dans l'esprit touchant les parvis de la maison de l'Eternel, et toutes les chambres à l'entour pour les trésors de la maison de Dieu et les trésors du sanctuaire,

¹²ותבנית כל אשר היה ברוח עמו לחצרות בית יהוה ולכל הלשכות סביב לאצרות בית האלהים ולאצרות הקדשים׃

¹³also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of Jehovah, and for all the vessels of service in the house of Jehovah;

¹³et touchant les classes des sacrificateurs et des Lévites, tout ce qui concernait le service de la maison de l'Eternel, et tous les ustensiles pour le service de la maison de l'Eternel.

¹³ולמחלקות הכהנים והלוים ולכל מלאכת עבודת בית יהוה ולכל כלי עבודת בית יהוה׃

¹⁴of gold by weight for the [vessels of] gold, for all vessels of every kind of service; [of silver] for all the vessels of silver by weight, for all vessels of every kind of service;

¹⁴Il lui donna le modèle des ustensiles d'or, avec le poids de ce qui devait être d'or, pour tous les ustensiles de chaque service; et le modèle de tous les ustensiles d'argent, avec le poids, pour tous les ustensiles de chaque service.

¹⁴לזהב במשקל לזהב לכל כלי עבודה ועבודה לכל כלי הכסף במשקל לכל כלי עבודה ועבודה׃

¹⁵by weight also for the candlesticks of gold, and for the lamps thereof, of gold, by weight for every candlestick and for the lamps thereof; and for the candlesticks of silver, [silver] by weight for [every] candlestick and for the lamps thereof, according to the use of every candlestick;

¹⁵Il donna le poids des chandeliers d'or et de leurs lampes d'or, avec le poids de chaque chandelier et de ses lampes; et le poids des chandeliers d'argent, avec le poids de chaque chandelier et de ses lampes, selon l'usage de chaque chandelier.

¹⁵ומשקל למנרות הזהב ונרתיהם זהב במשקל מנורה ומנורה ונרתיה ולמנרות הכסף במשקל למנורה ונרתיה כעבודת מנורה ומנורה׃

¹⁶and the gold by weight for the tables of showbread, for every table; and silver for the tables of silver;

¹⁶Il lui donna l'or au poids pour les tables des pains de proposition, pour chaque table; et de l'argent pour les tables d'argent.

¹⁶ואת הזהב משקל לשלחנות המערכת לשלחן ושלחן וכסף לשלחנות הכסף׃

¹⁷and the flesh-hooks, and the basins, and the cups, of pure gold; and for the golden bowls by weight for every bowl; and for the silver bowls by weight for every bowl;

¹⁷Il lui donna le modèle des fourchettes, des bassins et des calices d'or pur; le modèle des coupes d'or, avec le poids de chaque coupe, et des coupes d'argent, avec le poids de chaque coupe;

¹⁷והמזלגות והמזרקות והקשות זהב טהור ולכפורי הזהב במשקל לכפור וכפור ולכפורי הכסף במשקל לכפור וכפור׃

¹⁸and for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot, [even] the cherubim, that spread out [their wings], and covered the ark of the covenant of Jehovah.

¹⁸et le modèle de l'autel des parfums en or épuré, avec le poids. Il lui donna encore le modèle du char, des chérubins d'or qui étendent leurs ailes et couvrent l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel.

¹⁸ולמזבח הקטרת זהב מזקק במשקל ולתבנית המרכבה הכרבים זהב לפרשים וסככים על ארון ברית יהוה׃

¹⁹All this, [said David], have I been made to understand in writing from the hand of Jehovah, even all the works of this pattern.

¹⁹C'est par un écrit de sa main, dit David, que l'Eternel m'a donné l'intelligence de tout cela, de tous les ouvrages de ce modèle.

¹⁹הכל בכתב מיד יהוה עלי השכיל כל מלאכות התבנית׃

²⁰And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed; for Jehovah God, even my God, is with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until all the work for the service of the house of Jehovah be finished.

²⁰David dit à Salomon, son fils: Fortifie-toi, prends courage et agis; ne crains point, et ne t'effraie point. Car l'Eternel Dieu, mon Dieu, sera avec toi; il ne te délaissera point, il ne t'abandonnera point, jusqu'à ce que tout l'ouvrage pour le service de la maison de l'Eternel soit achevé.

²⁰ויאמר דויד לשלמה בנו חזק ואמץ ועשה אל תירא ואל תחת כי יהוה אלהים אלהי עמך לא ירפך ולא יעזבך עד לכלות כל מלאכת עבודת בית יהוה׃

²¹And, behold, there are the courses of the priests and the Levites, for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with thee in all manner of work every willing man that hath skill, for any manner of service: also the captains and all the people will be wholly at thy commandment.

²¹Voici les classes des sacrificateurs et des Lévites pour tout le service de la maison de Dieu; et voici près de toi, pour toute l'oeuvre, tous les hommes bien disposés et habiles dans toute espèce d'ouvrages, et les chefs et tout le peuple dociles à tous tes ordres.

²¹והנה מחלקות הכהנים והלוים לכל עבודת בית האלהים ועמך בכל מלאכה לכל נדיב בחכמה לכל עבודה והשרים וכל העם לכל דבריך׃
