¹And David the king said unto all the assembly, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for Jehovah God.

¹Le roi David dit à toute l'assemblée: Mon fils Salomon, le seul que Dieu ait choisi, est jeune et d'un âge faible, et l'ouvrage est considérable, car ce palais n'est pas pour un homme, mais il est pour l'Eternel Dieu.

¹ויאמר דויד המלך לכל הקהל שלמה בני אחד בחר בו אלהים נער ורך והמלאכה גדולה כי לא לאדם הבירה כי ליהוה אלהים׃

²Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the [things of] gold, and the silver for the [things of] silver, and the brass for the [things of] brass, the iron for the [things of] iron, and wood for the [things of] wood; onyx stones, and [stones] to be set, stones for inlaid work, and of divers colors, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.

²J'ai mis toutes mes forces à préparer pour la maison de mon Dieu de l'or pour ce qui doit être d'or, de l'argent pour ce qui doit être d'argent, de l'airain pour ce qui doit être d'airain, du fer pour ce qui doit être de fer, et du bois pour ce qui doit être de bois, des pierres d'onyx et des pierres à enchâsser, des pierres brillantes et de diverses couleurs, toutes sortes de pierres précieuses, et du marbre blanc en quantité.

²וככל כחי הכינותי לבית אלהי הזהב לזהב והכסף לכסף והנחשת לנחשת הברזל לברזל והעצים לעצים אבני שהם ומלואים אבני פוך ורקמה וכל אבן יקרה ואבני שיש לרב׃

³Moreover also, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, seeing that I have a treasure of mine own of gold and silver, I give it unto the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

³De plus, dans mon attachement pour la maison de mon Dieu, je donne à la maison de mon Dieu l'or et l'argent que je possède en propre, outre tout ce que j'ai préparé pour la maison du sanctuaire:

³ועוד ברצותי בבית אלהי יש לי סגלה זהב וכסף נתתי לבית אלהי למעלה מכל הכינותי לבית הקדש׃

⁴even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, wherewith to overlay the walls of the houses;

⁴trois mille talents d'or, d'or d'Ophir, et sept mille talents d'argent épuré, pour en revêtir les parois des bâtiments,

⁴שלשת אלפים ככרי זהב מזהב אופיר ושבעת אלפים ככר כסף מזקק לטוח קירות הבתים׃

⁵of gold for the [things of] gold, and of silver for the [things of] silver, and for all manner of work [to be made] by the hands of artificers. Who then offereth willingly to consecrate himself this day unto Jehovah?

⁵l'or pour ce qui doit être d'or, et l'argent pour ce qui doit être d'argent, et pour tous les travaux qu'exécuteront les ouvriers. Qui veut encore présenter volontairement aujourd'hui ses offrandes à l'Eternel?

⁵לזהב לזהב ולכסף לכסף ולכל מלאכה ביד חרשים ומי מתנדב למלאות ידו היום ליהוה׃

⁶Then the princes of the fathers' [houses], and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the king's work, offered willingly;

⁶Les chefs des maisons paternelles, les chefs des tribus d'Israël, les chefs de milliers et de centaines, et les intendants du roi firent volontairement des offrandes.

⁶ויתנדבו שרי האבות ושרי שבטי ישראל ושרי האלפים והמאות ולשרי מלאכת המלך׃

⁷and they gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and of iron a hundred thousand talents.

⁷Ils donnèrent pour le service de la maison de Dieu cinq mille talents d'or, dix mille dariques, dix mille talents d'argent, dix-huit mille talents d'airain, et cent mille talents de fer.

⁷ויתנו לעבודת בית האלהים זהב ככרים חמשת אלפים ואדרכנים רבו וכסף ככרים עשרת אלפים ונחשת רבו ושמונת אלפים ככרים וברזל מאה אלף ככרים׃

⁸And they with whom [precious] stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of Jehovah, under the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.

⁸Ceux qui possédaient des pierres les livrèrent pour le trésor de la maison de l'Eternel entre les mains de Jehiel, le Guerschonite.

⁸והנמצא אתו אבנים נתנו לאוצר בית יהוה על יד יחיאל הגרשני׃

⁹Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to Jehovah: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

⁹Le peuple se réjouit de leurs offrandes volontaires, car c'était avec un coeur bien disposé qu'ils les faisaient à l'Eternel; et le roi David en eut aussi une grande joie.

⁹וישמחו העם על התנדבם כי בלב שלם התנדבו ליהוה וגם דויד המלך שמח שמחה גדולה׃

¹⁰Wherefore David blessed Jehovah before all the assembly; and David said, Blessed be thou, O Jehovah, the God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.

¹⁰David bénit l'Eternel en présence de toute l'assemblée. Il dit: Béni sois-tu, d'éternité en éternité, Eternel, Dieu de notre père Israël.

¹⁰ויברך דויד את יהוה לעיני כל הקהל ויאמר דויד ברוך אתה יהוה אלהי ישראל אבינו מעולם ועד עולם׃

¹¹Thine, O Jehovah, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heavens and in the earth [is thine]; thine is the kingdom, O Jehovah, and thou art exalted as head above all.

¹¹A toi, Eternel, la grandeur, la force et la magnificence, l'éternité et la gloire, car tout ce qui est au ciel et sur la terre t'appartient; à toi, Eternel, le règne, car tu t'élèves souverainement au-dessus de tout!

¹¹לך יהוה הגדלה והגבורה והתפארת והנצח וההוד כי כל בשמים ובארץ לך יהוה הממלכה והמתנשא לכל לראש׃

¹²Both riches and honor come of thee, and thou rulest over all; and in thy hand is power and might; and in thy hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.

¹²C'est de toi que viennent la richesse et la gloire, c'est toi qui domines sur tout, c'est dans ta main que sont la force et la puissance, et c'est ta main qui a le pouvoir d'agrandir et d'affermir toutes choses.

¹²והעשר והכבוד מלפניך ואתה מושל בכל ובידך כח וגבורה ובידך לגדל ולחזק לכל׃

¹³Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

¹³Maintenant, ô notre Dieu, nous te louons, et nous célébrons ton nom glorieux.

¹³ועתה אלהינו מודים אנחנו לך ומהללים לשם תפארתך׃

¹⁴But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.

¹⁴Car qui suis-je et qui est mon peuple, pour que nous puissions te faire volontairement ces offrandes? Tout vient de toi, et nous recevons de ta main ce que nous t'offrons.

¹⁴וכי מי אני ומי עמי כי נעצר כח להתנדב כזאת כי ממך הכל ומידך נתנו לך׃

¹⁵For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathers were: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no abiding.

¹⁵Nous sommes devant toi des étrangers et des habitants, comme tous nos pères; nos jours sur la terre sont comme l'ombre, et il n'y a point d'espérance.

¹⁵כי גרים אנחנו לפניך ותושבים ככל אבתינו כצל ימינו על הארץ ואין מקוה׃

¹⁶O Jehovah our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee a house for thy holy name cometh of thy hand, and is all thine own.

¹⁶Eternel, notre Dieu, c'est de ta main que viennent toutes ces richesses que nous avons préparées pour te bâtir une maison, à toi, à ton saint nom, et c'est à toi que tout appartient.

¹⁶יהוה אלהינו כל ההמון הזה אשר הכיננו לבנות לך בית לשם קדשך מידך היא ולך הכל׃

¹⁷I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, that are present here, offer willingly unto thee.

¹⁷Je sais, ô mon Dieu, que tu sondes le coeur, et que tu aimes la droiture; aussi je t'ai fait toutes ces offrandes volontaires dans la droiture de mon coeur, et j'ai vu maintenant avec joie ton peuple qui se trouve ici t'offrir volontairement ses dons.

¹⁷וידעתי אלהי כי אתה בחן לבב ומישרים תרצה אני בישר לבבי התנדבתי כל אלה ועתה עמך הנמצאו פה ראיתי בשמחה להתנדב לך׃

¹⁸O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee;

¹⁸Eternel, Dieu d'Abraham, d'Isaac et d'Israël, nos pères, maintiens à toujours dans le coeur de ton peuple ces dispositions et ces pensées, et affermis son coeur en toi.

¹⁸יהוה אלהי אברהם יצחק וישראל אבתינו שמרה זאת לעולם ליצר מחשבות לבב עמך והכן לבבם אליך׃

¹⁹and give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.

¹⁹Donne à mon fils Salomon un coeur dévoué à l'observation de tes commandements, de tes préceptes et de tes lois, afin qu'il mette en pratique toutes ces choses, et qu'il bâtisse le palais pour lequel j'ai fait des préparatifs.

¹⁹ולשלמה בני תן לבב שלם לשמור מצותיך עדותיך וחקיך ולעשות הכל ולבנות הבירה אשר הכינותי׃

²⁰And David said to all the assembly, Now bless Jehovah your God. And all the assembly blessed Jehovah, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped Jehovah, and the king.

²⁰David dit à toute l'assemblée: Bénissez l'Eternel, votre Dieu! Et toute l'assemblée bénit l'Eternel, le Dieu de leurs pères. Ils s'inclinèrent et se prosternèrent devant l'Eternel et devant le roi.

²⁰ויאמר דויד לכל הקהל ברכו נא את יהוה אלהיכם ויברכו כל הקהל ליהוה אלהי אבתיהם ויקדו וישתחוו ליהוה ולמלך׃

²¹And they sacrificed sacrifices unto Jehovah, and offered burnt-offerings unto Jehovah, on the morrow after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink-offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel,

²¹Le lendemain de ce jour, ils offrirent en sacrifice et en holocauste à l'Eternel mille taureaux, mille béliers et mille agneaux, avec les libations ordinaires, et d'autres sacrifices en grand nombre pour tout Israël.

²¹ויזבחו ליהוה זבחים ויעלו עלות ליהוה למחרת היום ההוא פרים אלף אילים אלף כבשים אלף ונסכיהם וזבחים לרב לכל ישראל׃

²²and did eat and drink before Jehovah on that day with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him unto Jehovah to be prince, and Zadok to be priest.

²²Ils mangèrent et burent ce jour-là devant l'Eternel avec une grande joie, ils proclamèrent roi pour la seconde fois Salomon, fils de David, ils l'oignirent devant l'Eternel comme chef, et ils oignirent Tsadok comme sacrificateur.

²²ויאכלו וישתו לפני יהוה ביום ההוא בשמחה גדולה וימליכו שנית לשלמה בן דויד וימשחו ליהוה לנגיד ולצדוק לכהן׃

²³Then Solomon sat on the throne of Jehovah as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

²³Salomon s'assit sur le trône de l'Eternel, comme roi à la place de David, son père. Il prospéra, et tout Israël lui obéit.

²³וישב שלמה על כסא יהוה למלך תחת דויד אביו ויצלח וישמעו אליו כל ישראל׃

²⁴And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto Solomon the king.

²⁴Tous les chefs et les héros, et même tous les fils du roi David se soumirent au roi Salomon.

²⁴וכל השרים והגברים וגם כל בני המלך דויד נתנו יד תחת שלמה המלך׃

²⁵And Jehovah magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

²⁵L'Eternel éleva au plus haut degré Salomon sous les yeux de tout Israël, et il rendit son règne plus éclatant que ne fut celui d'aucun roi d'Israël avant lui.

²⁵ויגדל יהוה את שלמה למעלה לעיני כל ישראל ויתן עליו הוד מלכות אשר לא היה על כל מלך לפניו על ישראל׃

²⁶Now David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.

²⁶David, fils d'Isaï, régna sur tout Israël.

²⁶ודויד בן ישי מלך על כל ישראל׃

²⁷And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three [years] reigned he in Jerusalem.

²⁷Le temps qu'il régna sur Israël fut de quarante ans: à Hébron il régna sept ans, et à Jérusalem il régna trente-trois ans.

²⁷והימים אשר מלך על ישראל ארבעים שנה בחברון מלך שבע שנים ובירושלם מלך שלשים ושלוש׃

²⁸And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.

²⁸Il mourut dans une heureuse vieillesse, rassasié de jours, de richesse et de gloire. Et Salomon, son fils, régna à sa place.

²⁸וימת בשיבה טובה שבע ימים עשר וכבוד וימלך שלמה בנו תחתיו׃

²⁹Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer,

²⁹Les actions du roi David, les premières et les dernières, sont écrites dans le livre de Samuel le voyant, dans le livre de Nathan, le prophète, et dans le livre de Gad, le prophète,

²⁹ודברי דויד המלך הראשנים והאחרנים הנם כתובים על דברי שמואל הראה ועל דברי נתן הנביא ועל דברי גד החזה׃

³⁰with all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.

³⁰avec tout son règne et tous ses exploits, et ce qui s'est passé de son temps, soit en Israël, soit dans tous les royaumes des autres pays.

³⁰עם כל מלכותו וגבורתו והעתים אשר עברו עליו ועל ישראל ועל כל ממלכות הארצות׃
